Apologies!......................

Sorry I haven't been round much the last couple of days and probably not for a few days more......Lucy is poorly with a really bad chest infection. She had a bad cough at the start of the week and on Wednesday at school home time her teacher phoned me to ask if I could come and pick her up {normally she walks as it is only 10 mins} when I arrived she was in tears and told me that she had started to walk but only made it a wee bit and her chest started hurting and she felt like she couldn't breathe...so I whisked her straight to the docs and he suspected a partially collapsed lung and sent us straight to A&E!!! {I was in mega panic by then but had to hid it from Lucy..she's only 9}. Anyhoo after a short wait they x-rayed her and everything was okay....just a really bad viral chest infection... so I have been in full on Mummy/Nurse mode the last few days...no time for cards! She is feeling a bit better today, coughing up all sorts of yeuch!lol

I will try to catch up with you all over the weekend!

WOYWD #47

Well here it is again! Number 47...I had better pull my finger out and think of something for the Anniversary Challenge!

What's on my desk today..well I been having a play the last couple of nights....I have been inspired by a few scrapbook layouts I have seen in blogland.....and although I don't do scrapbooking I thought the style might look nice on a card....and it is a fab way of using up all my scraps n bits'n'bobs! Let me know what you think!

The green bag in the top left corner has some babywipes in it, I only used them to wipe a tiny stamp so I keep them in the bag to keep them moist and I can use them a bit longer rather than just wiping one little stamp and chucking it in the bin!Mmmmmm don't think there is anything else new on my desk...sauce pots and stirrers are still sitting there.....I opened one of the sauce pots up to see what it was like and if it could have any other uses!

Oh and here is my naughty purchase...sadly Poppicrafts have closed their shop.....and they had reduced all the ribbon...so I just had to get some...it would have been a shame not to! So now I really need to find some over the door hooks for my cubbie door and then I can get all my ribbon sorted out!

Pink and Sparkly

Light was just about gone when I took this pic..sorry!

The request for this card was pink and sparkly...so I think this will do the job!

This paper I have had for ages and I cannot remember the make! The stamp is from my candy win from Jacqui @Simply Create coloured with my PMs and stickles and I have glittered a no six and printed the name on my computer and cut and glittered them...a little bit of ribbon from my stash and there you have it!

I would also like to thank all of those who left me lovely Birthday wishes!....I have decided to stop now at 38 and will not be having any more birthdays....it is just getting a little bit too close to 40 for my liking!lol

I am such a big kid.....woke up early today cos I just couldn't wait to open my pressies!!

I got loads of fab stuff....gorgeous bracelet and the new David Ellwand Faeriality book from Hubby..........perfume from Lucy...............bottle of Baileys with two lovely glasses from Jude {Phil got it for her as she is only 5!lol}.......A lovely fairy ornament and a brand new phone from Phil's family....money...smellies.........etc, etc! I have been very spoilt!

I am gonna spend some time playing in my Cupboard with the new stash my sis got me {you can see it on my previous post}. Phil has taken Lucy to her choir practice today....they are having their first full rehearsal for the opera Noyes Fludde { think I have spelt it right...Noahs Arc basically!} it is being performed at Glenfinnan and comedian Sue Perkins is conducting so BBC2 are filming it {all very exciting!}...they wanted some local schoolkids to be in the choir so Lucy and a couple of her pals went up for it! They are all different animals and have to wear really fab head-dresses...she is an Arctic Fox and her head-dress is being made in Finland! So they won't be back til 5...and then Phil is gonna cook me a lovely dinner...yum!!

Edited to add: Lucy has just come back all disappointed cos Sue will not be able to conduct as she has broken her sternum and ribs!

Quick card and I opened my pressie early!

Quick card today for my BIL...image is from Digistamp Boutique, coloured with my PM's........Paper is from my ever increasing scrap pile which I must sort out soon!................buttons from stash.....and a peel off sentiment!

Now although my birthday isn't actually til tomorrow, my sister had come over from Aboyne last night and today before she went back home she gave me my pressie and made me open it...loads of goodies from Simply Create in Alford which is not too far from her.{She is not a crafter but she always seems to pick out the best stuff!} She got me some Glimmer Mist which meant nothing to her but I have wanted some for ages so was very excited! Some more lovely stamps, papers, PM's, fabric squares!
I am off to go play!

ARgh problems with commenting!

Does anyone else have a problem when they leave a comment on a blog?

Every now and then after I have left a comment, loads of blank page tabs keep opening up? It's driving me mad!!!!

WOYWW....and a confession..............

Before I show you all my desk I would like to make a confession................I am truly ashamed of myself..............It's my lovely Hubbies birthday today and I went out to the shops and bought (urgh I hear you all gasp!) him his card cos I was totally lacking my mojo and just couldn't think what to put on a card for him.....he doesn't do soppy or cute...so I picked him up a Homer Simpson one!...there now that is off my chest below you will find a pic of my desk this morning!

I have an order for a card for a wee girl who is gonna be six and she loves everything sparkly and pink...hence everything pink out on my desk!

Up on the top right you will see my sneeks from Ikea! Please don't tell I did have my breakfast and lunch in there when I was down on Saturday (got loads of good stuff for my new look cupboard!)..............I use the little pots they have in the restaurant when the girls or myself are glueing and their little stirrers always come in useful too!

Also here is the card now finished that was on my desk last week!

Two Ruby Wedding Cards................

I had a couple of Ruby Wedding cards to make yesterday.....both for the same couple so I have tryed to make them completely different! I have gone for the little letters again on this one........it took me ages to cut them out and ink all the tiny edges!

Went for a verse on this one and lots of distressing.........

I have added a little heart charm and I dipped the tiny stamens in ruby glitter.

50 today.......................

Mum phoned me yesterday morning as she needed a card for one of her friends who was gonna be 50......so came up with this!

My inspiration came from Kath.....go look at her gorgeous cards! I love the tiny letters she puts on some of her cards...which I think are stickers but as I don't have any I printed the sentiment off from the computer and cut each little letter out, then inked the edges with Tattered Rose. The flowers I made from one little flower stamp {can't remember the make, sorry} and drew the stems and leaf with a fineliner, used Tattered Rose again on the flowers and the edges. The papers are the latest freebie from a cardmaking mag and I have put some little Tulip pearl dots around parts of the card.

I have been trying to take better pics of my cards....so many of you lovely bloggers have beautiful pictures of your cards...I on the other hand was just plonking them on the windowsill in the conservatory and clicking!

I was in the middle of making this green card when I decided to have a play with my new toy that my mate brought me back from the USA when she visited a Michaels store...........its a MS butterfly punch, and it comes with 3 little butterfly stamps to decorate the punched piece!

I also got distracted filling in my new Promarker colour chart which I downloaded last night from the Letraset website!.........it doesn't take much to distract me!

Better be off now as I currently have a list of 5 cards to get made before the week is out!

Just a short post from me...the weather has been gorgeous here today and I have been out in the garden all day............so now I need to go and get the ironing done and get the girls all sorted for going back to school tomorrow :0(

I cannot believe that it is Wednesday again already!!! I am posting this early as we are just off to Glasgow with the girls for a day out at Xscape, we are gonna go to Laser Station and the cinema with some friends, I will link it over at Julia's blog when I get back!
On my desk just now is the makings of a crimbo card.......I am determined to have loads ready this year as last year I got very stressed out trying to get everything done!{I even had to buy some Christmas cards!}
There are a couple of finished cards to the top left that are just waiting to have inserts stuck in and then they will go in my box. To the top right beside the glue is my one and only actual Tilda Stamp {i have a few stamped images that fellow bloggers have sent me...thanks ladies!} that I have stamped onto watercolour paper to have a play with shadowing with my Distress inks.....I only have a few ink pads so have coloured the actual Tilda with my PMs.

Now a few of you have noted that my desk is far too tidy lol.......well below is the reason why I am determined to keep it tidy and have so far managed to!

This was my desk a few months ago...and it had gotten to the point where I could hardly even get into my wee cupboard under the stairs let alone make a card! So I spent a whole day clearing it all up and I vowed that I would never let it get that messy again!lol I am planning on taking some pics of my cupboard before I do it all up so you can see the actual space I have!

Oh and I got round to labelling the storage tubs last night too!

I put it on a card.......................

Well I decided yesterday after all the lovely comments ( thank you all!) I got that I would make a card with it! ( see the previous post if you want to know what I am waffling about!)

I have used one of my new 12x12 papers from Basic Grey and one one of my new doilies.......all have been inked with Peeled Paint and some stickles.........

And I had a go at making a tissue paper flower.......I have coloured the tissue with one of my promarkers to match and fastened it with a brad......you will be seeing more of these as I love them!

My first go at painting with Distress Inks!.........

Here is my first attempt at painting with my new Distress inks!.......I only have 5 so I am pretty pleased with the results.......I need to invest in some better brushes I think. Just need to master the blending a bit more, not sure if it is good enough to put on a card yet....bit more practice required.....and more colours....another thing added to my wishlist!

Not much doing from me just now...the decorating is finally done...we have had to give the walls a third coat yesterday! So to treat the girls..... cos they have been so good while we have been painting... we took them up to Inverness to see Alice in Wonderland! Brilliant! Johnny Depp is just the best actor ever!

I even managed to pick up a few storage bargains in Tesco for my new look cubby! Just need to get to Ikea to get my bookcases then I can make a start!

Another quick little card for a friends girl who will be 7 tomorrow! I love this image from Bugaboo stamps....I have coloured her with my promarkers....can't remember the make of the paper...it's the last scrap! Hopefully the postie will deliver my yummy box of papers that I ordered online the other night!

Fingers crossed that is the painting finished........I have put the second coat on really thick so hopefully it won't need a third! My arms are aching!
