Technique Tuesday - Tagging Along!

Hi Everyone
Sue Here

This week myself and Natalie are showing you mini tag books.  Today's  project covers a few techniques.

The tags are on the J & C Creations website and I have added backing papers, words cut from newspapers and word stamps.  The flowers are a VERY old sizzix die inked with versamark and yellow and orange WOW embossing powders and heat set.  The suitcase is chipboard and one I dug out from my stash.

I have used a mixture of chipboard and acrylic tags in this project to add dimension.

Inside is a piece of tissue paper stamped with a flower stamps in versamark and sprinkled with yellow and orange WOW embossing powder and heat set.  This technique you could use with any present to jazz up plain tissue paper!

The outside was decorated with some stickers I have had for years.  The background is the crackle technique with acrylic paint and PVA glue.  here are the instructions:
1. Paint the surface with an acrylic paint colour you wish.  This colour will pop through the top layer when finished.
2.  Heat set this.
3. Paint a thick layer of CHEAP and I mean CHEAP PVA glue on the top of the paint, then dry off until it is tacky but NOT dry.
4. Put another thickish coat of acrylic paint over the top of the PVA glue. It is good if you use a different colour., then put the heat gun towards the paint and watch the PVA glue crack the paint over the top.  This is due to the glue shrinking and cracking quicker that the paint.  Good Ey!!

Hope you like these techniques, try them as backgrounds for your cards....take care....Sue

Sparkly Shoes and Tiara's

Hi Everyone
Sue Here

This week is 'Wise Words' and today I have chosen a saying from the Dylusion set 'Quintisential' -- 'I'm pretty sure that with sparkly shoes and a new tiara she could conquer the world'

I firstly stamped out the Bildmalarna stamp 'Sitting Mimosa' onto white cardstock, which is a good all round stamp.  I then took one of my Stampotica images, cut out the mimosa face and top of the hair and glued it over the Stampotica image.  This you can try on all of your stamped images and give them another dimension. (sweet and innocent over grunge)  I know some of you will think this is sacra sanct but I quite like it, it appeals to my 'off the wall' side and makes it more interesting.  I then coloured it in with Promarkers and cut the image out

I then used distress inks and covered a Ranger Tag, then placed white acrylic paint over the top to tone it down, wiping parts off to give it dimension. I then used a crackle mask and put versamark through this and sprinkled WOW Gold Pearl embossing powder on top and heat set.  I then used the moulding paste I purchased from Aldi through another diamond mask and let this dry to give it dimension.

I then stamped the words out onto patterned paper, with Versamark and WOW Burgundy Red embossing powder and again cut these out.

The flowers are spellbinder bitsy flowers and the leaves are Dylusion - Around the Edge stamps again using WOW Burgundy Red Embossing Powder.  I glued it together with the electric glue gun.

Voila............Hope you conquer the world this week....Sue
