Life is full with custard

I love my kids.
I love the relationship that they have with each other.
It's been such a neat experience to watch them grow and evolve as little humans.
We are excited to see what baby number three will bring to the mix.

We have really enjoyed this close time we have had as a family.
It's really been the 4 of us since the move. We have had lots visitors but we have had even more alone time with just us. I never realized how much we actually were going places and doing things in Provo. We had friends and play-dates and activities to go to several times a week. Living in Hurricane we have nothing. We have had our Bishop, Bishop Gilberg (those of you from Kanab may know him) and his family stop by a few times but that's about it.
We work out together as a family, go grocery shopping as a family and pretty much anything that we need to do we do it together as a family. Josh and I both have enjoyed it but at the same time we realize that friends are nice to have sometimes.
However, its nights like these spent at the temple grounds, the park,  followed up with some custard that make me feel so full and happy with life.

My dark-haired baby is turning blonde in this sun.

I had to include this picture of Chamberlain he eats his ice cream just like me. We bite the ice cream instead of lick it.

beauty

Its funny how we lived literally 2 miles down the street from the Provo temple and we never really took the kids to walk around the grounds. We drove by it on a daily basis practically.  We ran around the temple every morning when the weather was warmer/permitted  and sometimes we would stop and see missionaries and we always pointed out the importance of the temple as we jogged by.  We always made it a point to spot Angel Moroni and how beautiful the temple is, especially when we were up early enough and the sun would be peaking out at the perfect time from Y mountain it was such a stunning sight to see. We also made it point to smile and cheer when we made it to the top of our temple run.
I miss that, especially right now when all the flowers and trees are in bloom and the excitement and buzz of summer Provo begins.

We now live a exactly 20 minutes from the St. George temple and we have already driven by, walked around and played at the park several times up the street pretty much every week we have been here.  Its funny how we don't think twice of getting in the car for FHE driving the 20 minutes just to go and soaking the beauty of the Temple grounds for our activity.  It seems that the St.George Temple is in the middle of everything we do in St. George. I like it. Its a neat Temple that has great meaning. It looks amazing against the red cliffs of Dixie.  I love that everywhere we go in St.George Chamberlain is always pointing out the temple.

my favorite kind of dress

I'm such a sucker for Mexican Dresses.
I love them.
Maybe its because they remind me of my Grandma.
In fact I regret not purchasing one on our honeymoon in Cancun where there were hundreds upon hundreds in the markets. I found several that I loved but just never bought one. I still think about them to this day.
If it were up to me  I would buy several Mexican Dresses for Siri every summer and this would be her main staple especially on those hot summer days.
While we were perusing the stores this week to buy Josh some "grown up luggage" I happen to find a Mexican Dress pretty similar to the one I bought Siri last summer but in Turquoise and Chartreuse.
I love it.
Now if I could only find more...

Below is last years dress.
Pretty similar aren't they.
My has she grown.

Grandpas Pond

Not too far from our house we found "Grandpas Pond" which the city owns and its at the base of Quail Creek Reservoir.  There is a nice dirt walking trail around the pond and from there we can get to the creek when its sweltering.  Surprisingly there are always lots of people or I mean Senior Citizens fishing away every time we have been.

We have made this our daily walk.
So far it entertains both Children.
Chamberlain can ride his bike with Josh while he runs and Siri sits in the stroller and looks for ducks around the pond while we walk.
I always forget to bring bread but on this day we had a bag of goldfish and my camera.
 Hooray.
Chamberlain is trying to catch a fish with some sticks he found.

Josh running around the pond getting ready to beat Tim in the 10K.
Siri running up the ramp.

mud

Its hot outside.
We traded an awesome backyard in Provo for a much bigger living space in Hurricane. I guess you can't win them all.
Since we are renting there will most likely be no signs of grass.
What you cant see is all the lava rock mixed in with the dirt.
For us to even try to grow our own grass would be crazy.
We need big machinery to smooth out all the rock.
I'm lazy and its not worth my time...we are renting.
However, we do have a hose and water mixes well with dirt.
So this is how I have been entertaining the kids on hot afternoons.
There is not a park or other kids close by so this is our best resort.
At least they get their creative juices going.
Chamberlain asked if I would put some war paint on him and of course Siri had to have the same.  The best part is when I rinsed Siri off in the shower (which she loves) she started screaming because she was afraid of all the dirt and mud running off her body. She backed up to the glass and was trying not to let it touch her.

I hope mud is good sunscreen.

Toy Shoppe

Have you ever won anything from these machines?
I never have, at least that I can remember.

I do remember when I was young about Chamberlain's age now, we would go to Pistol Petes Pizza with all of my cousins often.  My older cousin Mike would win something every time he played the machine and he would play this machine all night it seemed, and sometimes he would be nice and share his winnings.

It seems that we have been going to the store like everyday since we moved here. Its crazy how much stuff you need when you move into a new place.  It's also crazy how much stuff you throw away when you are moving from a place.

We were waiting in line for a movie and Josh was like, "oh I can win that Y football." And I totally didn't believe him.  50 cents later Chamberlain had a new Y football pillow to play with.
I was impressed.
It felt like Josh was my high school boyfriend trying to impress me with his skills and to top it off he didn't even keep the winnings. He gave it to some kid who needed/wanted it more than he.

I liked it.
I was proud of him and so were our kids.
Just another eventful night at the store.

Easter 2012

Scenes from Easter morning and all throughout the day.
We had an Easter Egg hunt followed by a tooth extraction from Grandma.
Chamberlains 2nd tooth was super loose and bothering him and he would only let Grandma look at it "because she is soft" is what he told Hudson.  Hudson on the other hand couldn't figure out why Chamberlain's teeth were falling out. He found it so strange.
He gladly held the flash light for Grandma to get a better look.

Sad, i just realized I never got pictures of the boys in their matching ties. Siri's coordinating yellow dress. My mother even got Josh, Tim, Tanner and my Dad matching Ties which they all wore to church. I completely forgot to take pictures. I am just going to chalk that one up to my pregnancy brain.  I tend to forget things when I am pregnant.

The weather could not have been more fabulous and the company more perfect.
I love my family.

a Birthday

Our Easter weekend was quite the enjoyable one.

We started it off celebrating my lil'sis 30th Birthday by doing a session in the St. George temple, where Tim and Shelbie were married almost 6 years ago.
What a great way to start your 30th year, headed in the right direction.
We followed the temple up with lunch at Cafe Rio with all the family (Truett and Kelsi you were missed)and of course shopping sans kids.
We died Easter eggs and spent the rest of the night chatting it up with Mom, Dad, Sage and Tanner preparing for the Easter bunny.
Since my parents only have 4.5 grand kids its really easy for us to get together often for the holidays, and anytime we can in-between, birthdays seem to always be a favorite time to come together.
Shelbie and Tim got to stay one night with us here in Hurricane which I do hope they come back and  soon.
The Birthday Girl, her boys, and her beloved Red Velvet Cake.

 Our egg dying party!
How cool to dye eggs on your birthday.

Happy 30th Birthday Shelbie.
I'm so glad we got to share this day with you.
Most of all I am glad that you are my sister and that we are the best of friends.
I love that I can call you anytime of day, many times throughout the day and we always have something to say, it never gets old.
You are the best!
Oh Happy Day!

the Tooth Fairy made a mess.

The day I registered Chamberlain for Kindergarten, last week, was also the morning we realized he had a loose tooth, which just happened to be the day that he took a massive spill on his bike down a steep hill.
(A swollen face from the massive spill, did I mention he blacked out?)
Needless to say it was an emotional day for me, remember I am pregnant so I am allowed to be emotional about a loose tooth and registering for Kindergarten.
( I am not ready for him to go to Kindergarten we have too much fun during the day for him to go.)

So when Chamberlain woke up super early yesterday morning he had a pretty good excuse.
He said "Mom my tooth was rattling around in my head and I can't go back to sleep because I do not want to choke on it and it's bleeding see my tooth fell out."
 Fair enough!

We immediatly got his tooth holder out and slide it under his pillow before Siri woke up and became aware of where we hid the prize.

This morning he woke up and the Tooth Fairy had paid him a visit.
Apparently a very messy visit.
You see the Tooth Fairy left a messy trail of Fairy Dust on her way to purchasing his tooth.
When Chamberlain went to brush his teeth for the morning we heard a loud "UGH that Tooth Fairy made a huge mess in here!" When I went in to check on him we realized that the Tooth Fairy checked his toothbrush to make sure he was brushing both morning and night and spread Gold Fairy Dust all over the bathroom.
To which we are still sweeping up.

normal

The last 2.5 weeks have gone by so fast and we have yet to find a normal schedule.
We are loving living in St. George...(big gulp) Hurricane
We have had one visitor after the next (which we love) which makes it automatically impossible to have a regular routine.   Mix visitors in with new surroundings, unpacking,  trying to find doctors, figuring out which school is best, Siri teething with 4 teeth coming in at the same time, unpacking, Chamberlain making new friends, unpacking,  enjoying his new found freedom riding his bike through the neighborhood, a couple of crashes, unpacking and I am one exhausted pregnant momma.  Did I mention I was pregnant?!
Finally for FHE I decided it was time for some "normal" around here.
We made our traditional (whats more normal than traditions) Peanut Butter and Chocolate Covered PEEPS.
It was a successful and normal FHE.
I even let Siri in on the mess.
For the last few hours of the night everything felt "normal" almost everything expect that Josh was home for FHE which was a first in nearly 3 years.
As I write this post I keep thinking of that old question
"What is normal?"
Which in reply I'd have to say I don't know I think our normal is consistently evolving.

We are finding a new normal here at Burgess Junction a normal where Josh is home often and for dinner every night and that's a normal I will take any day of the week.
Here is to a normal couple of days since we have more guests coming for the weekend.
Did I mention we love having guests!
