When the weather outside is frightful

Here is what we do on a snowy day!
Build snow forts with Grandpa. Turn pipe cleaners into magical bee wings with antennas and fly around the house all afternoon. Then finish up the day with a cup of hot Chocolate whip cream included!!

visits to irvine

Playing with Maddi and Jaqui

Chasing the birds at the BEACH

Uncle Davids Games (we love Uncle Dave)

Taking joy rides in the Mercedes

In Protest of the Carousel closing

Feeding the SWANS at the lake

Water fountains

I
really think there is nothing better than the beach, or maybe the red hills behind my parents house. But for children, with big imaginations, i would definitely say the beach. Lately it seems every other week we find ourselves at Grandma and Grandpa Burgesseses (in the words of the whatthesmiths) house in Irvine. I am really starting to like, I mean LOVE it there. It seems that we are always doing something fun or going somewhere neat, to the beach, the spectrum, uncle Davids games, aunt Angela's house, we are constantly on the move. Unfortunately, our camera that we got for CHRISTMAS last year broke! So here are a few snap shots of our visits to Grandmas house.

how many adults does it take

Halloween.
This was Chamberlains first attempt at Trick or Treating. I do not believe he really grasped the concept. Everytime he knocked on a door, as he was knocking, he would say "trick or treat". Then once they finally opened the door, he would walk right in and make himself comfortable. He did that at everyhouse we went to. But, maybe it confused him that we were going to peoples homes, that he knew, and maybe he couldnt firgure out why we would leave so soon and not stay and visit, like we normally would.
Silly us!
Since this was Chamberlain's first time out, it was grandma and grandpa Chamberlains firts time "treating" as grandparents. Of course we all had to go along. Midway through the night we realized it was 4 adults to 1 child.
Oh well, we all had fun!
Did I mention that we ended the night at
ESCOBARS!

FRANKIE part II

Chamberlain had been anxiously waiting for his father to come home all day so that he could show him frwankie. Once we hear josh pull up, Chamberlain runs out the door and I immediatly grab my camera. Here is what happend next...

Josh not knowing that Chamberlain, is a little afraid of frankie, grabs him by the shoulders and makes a quick pose. Luckly i caught them just before he burst into tears.

After like 10 minutes of crying, Josh is eagerly trying to find fun in Frankie with Chamberlain. Turns out punching the frankies nose is what turned his frown upside down.

Chamberlain finally agreed to take a picture with Frankie if Josh stood by Frankie and he stood by the pumpkin. Then trying to get him to look at the camera to take the picture was another ordeal. He would not take his eyes off that pumpkin.

Finally, he took his eyes off for a moment.

FRANKIE

The one on the right is Frankie.

Grandma: (in her oh-so-sweet voice) Chamberlain, come take a picture with Frankie.

Chamberlain: No, I dont wanna take picture with Frwankie. I wanna take a picture with the punkin.

Grandma: (laughing) Chamberlain, come take a picture with Grandma and Frankie. Please

Chamberlain: (shaking his head back and forth) NO!

Grandma reaches over and pulls Chamberlain close for the picture... I think his face says it all.

Chamberlain: I wanna take picture with punkin, Grrandma!

The End...until dad comes home.

Riding the Range.

Okay, so my mother and I spent most of the summer decorating/painting peoples homes. Well, this one family, the Robinson's, (we spent many an hour painting) raise horse's for a living. So one day for lunch my mom and i decided to visit Josh, at the Jerky Shack, up at the cave for a yummy hot dog, fortunately, we had chamberlain with us. And here comes the Robinson's down the canyon with their horse's in tow, fresh from Bryce Canyon Rodeos. They see us and pull over. Chamberlain has a huge thing for horses, so immediately, he runs over to the horse trailer, climbs up the sides and is sticking his hands through the slots trying to pet them. Lindsay, the youngest Robinson said she would get out a horse and let chamberlain ride one around in the parking lot. So we did and this is the video. FYI... I look horrible, I haven't showered nor gotten ready in like 2 or maybe even 3 days. Yikes! But it was the best to see Chamberlain on the horse he truly loved it. This video goes to show how nice and awesome people in Kanab really are, some will give you the shirt off their back. Thank's Robinsons.

Mallows and ATV's

The 4th of July is my favorite holiday. It was so much fun this year, we had my mom's family come, and it was so awesome to see them all. It was some of her family members first time to Kanab, as well as, meeting some family members for the first time. It was a blast!
While everyone was here we wanted to keep it fun so we did something new everyday. Which was great because then everybody didn't get board and despise driving hours on end to come to Utah. In the end everyone had so much fun that initiated the first Kent and Deene Johnson family reunion. It will be held in Kanab every year around the 4th. I can't complain because the July 4th and family are my two favorite things in the whole world.

Roasting Marshmallows in the backyard fire pit.
Chamberlain absolutely loves his grandma. He constantly follows her around.

The 4th of July...

At the park
Watching the Parade with Huddy Buddy and Chamberlain in their matching outfits from Grandma Chamberlain.
Lunch time! Josh sold Hot Dawgs at the Park.
Way past nap time for Chamberlain.

On our way home from the park we decided to take the roller coaster.
What you can't see is Hudson in the car seat. He is screaming bloody murder, while everyone else is screaming for joy. needless to say once we got the little kids home, they were out!

Ode to our Home

So its official we are selling our house, any takers...
We will miss it. We have many memories of our first home. One that comes to mind is Chamberlain learning how to walk. I wouldn't even let him touch the ground in our previous rental in Provo (who knows what kind of germs were crawling around on the 30+ year old carpet). Gosh, all the hard work that went into painting!! I so, so, so, so am going to miss this house. But on to bigger and better things!
