Election 2008: Obama Or Die!

Black Entertainment Television held a Barack Obama campaign rally disguised as an awards show last night and faux gangsta Sean Combs chanted "Obama or Die" to the gushing crowd. Now forget for a minute whether this punk could kill a fly without the aid of an army of bodyguards or whether this was some cheesy threat to people, let's have a look at Diddly Squat's history of death.

Obama or die!

Few seem to remember, but when Combs was an up-and-coming wannabe thug, he organized events in New York. One of them was held at CUNY, and the tough guy had no concern for safety or security and overbooked the event.

Result: Nine people dead and 29 injured.
Sean "Puffy" Combs agreed to pay a secret settlement yesterday to a Bronx secretary caught in a stampede at a City College charity basketball game the rap mogul sponsored in 1991.

The settlement closed the last of nearly a dozen suits seeking damages against rapper Combs, co-promoter Heavy D and the college in connection with the tragic event in which nine people died and 29 were injured.

Just how much Combs must pay Nicole Levy, 25, was kept secret under the terms of the settlement. But Levy's lawyer had called Combs' initial offer of $50,000, made two years ago, "not realistic."

Levy had sought $2 million from the rapper - claiming the stress of seeing her best friend crushed in the stampede caused her to contract Graves disease.

The state Supreme Court trial on her lawsuit had just concluded a second day of jury selections when the settlement was reached. Opening statements were due to begin in the case Tuesday, after some seven years of pretrial proceedings and delays.

"It remains clear that Nicole Levy's case is without merit," said Combs' lawyer Luke Pittoni.

"Rather than have protracted litigation, we have come to an acceptable resolution and are very pleased with the outcome."

Combs had faced a tough trial - and the public airing of embarrassing details from the oversold, underinsured event. A Court of Claims judge last year condemned the rapper for "squashing out life's breath from young bodies."
They died before they could vote for Obama.

Obama or die!

I recall that event clearly. This coward ran like a bitch from any responsibility and blamed police, security, CUNY, anyone he could find, and never once took any responsibility.

Obama or die!

We won't even get into the speculation whether this punk had anything to do with certain drive-by shootings so prevalent in the hip-hop community.

Obama or die!

Then there was the more recent shooting at a New York nightclub in 1999, when one of Doodly's boys took the rap. The make-believe bad boy couldn't flee the scene fast enough.
Sean "Puffy" Combs and two others were charged with illegal possession of a firearm on Monday after police say they found a stolen gun in a vehicle Puffy's entourage was riding in following a shooting at a New York nightclub.

Actress/singer Jennifer Lopez was part of that entourage and briefly faced similar charges, but prosecutors dropped the charges late Monday afternoon after reviewing the evidence at hand.
Always around the guns, but quick to shout "it ain't mine!"

So let's have a good laugh at this twit because he's nothing but a blowhard fraud who hides behind others, never accepts responsibility and loves to talk tough.

Obama or die!

Considering how the BET event was such a nakedly transparent Obama lovefest, does it count as a campaign contribution and does John McCain gets an equal amount of airtime? Out of fairness, of course.

Ed Morrissey has some questions for this twerp.

LA Times Gets Bamboozled

The LA Times ran a story the other day based on fabricated documents, but that isn't news to anybody familiar with the mainstream media. The real shocker in this story is that now they actually admit they did it and apologized
The Los Angeles Times apologized for using documents that were apparently fabricated in a story implicating associates of Sean "Diddy" Combs in a 1994 assault on rapper Tupac Shakur.

"The bottom line is that the documents we relied on should not have been used," Editor Russ Stanton said in a story posted Wednesday night on the newspaper's Web site. "We apologize both to our readers and to those referenced in the documents ... and in the story."

Pulitzer-prize winning reporter Chuck Philips, who wrote the story, and his supervisor, Deputy Managing Editor Marc Duvoisin, also apologized.

The apologies followed an investigation launched by Stanton after The Smoking Gun Web site reported earlier in the day that the paper was conned by a prisoner who doctored the documents.
Looks like the "Dan Rather School of Journalism" is alive and well; i.e., run with any junk you can make up and see if others can prove you are wrong. At least they did not try the "fake but accurate" line of garbage.

You might well wonder why the MSM seems to have a habit of running these bungled stories. This may be a hint:
The story and related features on latimes.com attracted nearly 1 million hits -- more viewers than any other story on latimes.com this year, the newspaper said.
It is becoming clear that the MSM is simply becoming a forum for rumors and half-baked theories, all in pursuit of hits and readership.

The MSM, printing all the stories that fit their agenda.
