Bloom Girls and Copics!

Hi there my crafty friends! It's Mindy here today and I have a card to share with you. I have colored this gorgeous NEW Bloom Girl image using Copic markers. This stamp was just released at CHA last month and it's just stunning. You are able to get so many details coloring in these images.

Here's a video of me coloring in the entire image. I wasn't sure exactly what I was going to do with this image at the time I colored it so I wanted to color the entire face and hair.

Once I was finished coloring the image I had decided to make a card using my image. I trimmed the image down fitting it on a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 card base. I used my Bloom Girl Water Color paper pad for my card base, it's sturdy and I love the textured look behind my image.

Since my image pretty much takes up my entire card I have decided to keep the layers minimal, I always use 3d foam dots to pop up my images and layers. It gives so much more to the cards and any project, really. I added some twine behind my matted image, rub ons along the side of her neck and some random Prima flowers from my stash. Then I thought it would be a nice touch to add some molding paste using my NEW Bloom Girl Stencil 'Spark'.

Mini-Album tutorial with Jing from DT Stephanie

Good morning everyone!

DT Stephanie here to show you a mini-album that I created from start to finish with gorgeous ribbons from May Arts and Prima marketing amazing products. I just feel so inspired when I put them all together with a Bloom Girl! The plus side is that you even have all the instructions to reproduce this at home/in store! In this tutorial, Bloom Girl Jing was already coloured in a no-line technique with Copics markers, but you can do the same with stamping her in pale ink (Memento Desert Sand, in this case) and that's it!

Close-ups...

Here's how to do the Jing Mini-Album Project:

  1. Cut 2 pieces of chipboard to 7”x6¼”
  2. Cover both with patterned papers. I recommend using strong adhesive.
  3. Add 3 pieces of trimmings one over the other on the binding edge.
  4. Pierce holes for the binding. You could go with a regular 3-rings method or with a binding tool like the Cinch.
  5. Add piece of trimming to the bottom.
  6. Half-stamp your favourite image of the Bloom Girls collection in light ink and colour it, while leaving the flowers/details blank. Fussy cut it.
  7. Cut a squared piece of patterned paper and mat it with 2 cardstocks.
  8. Pop up everything on 3D foam dots.
  9. Add flowers and other types of embellishments ; you’re done!

Pencil Lines and The Next Step Join Together........

This week The Next Step Design Team members joined Pencil Lines Challenge Blog to bring you some great and new ideas to use when scrapbooking .... The Sketch was fun and the the ideas we used over at TNS were fun and "Sweet"

Here is the Sketch for this month on Pencil Lines...

Here is the LO I made based on the sketch :)

On my LO I used MMBI PP, I doodle the white background paper in the center, AC Thickers for the title,Tattered Angels on the cardboard and the white background,Prima Flowers, alcohol inks, and I used Making Memories trim. TFL :)

I also included something "sweet" I used a couple pieces of PEZ candy to add color. This months challenge at The Next Step is to add "Tricks and Treats to your page. Give it a try, try using a candy rapper of foil as an embellishment. Or stick the candy directly on the page.

I hope to see you guys challenge yourselves on both sites. And I can't wait to see what you create. :)

New Canvas

Well I had the art bug this week. I made two canvases one you have to wait to see and I have one you can see now. I joined in on the Challenge 1 over at Project 52. It was a lot of fun.

For the background I mixed paint and Gel Medium to build some texture. Then over that I sprayed it with Pine Cone glimmer Mist,The next step I took Tim Holtz Picket Fence crackle paint to the outside edges and mixed around the center. Then I distressed it with some walnut ink and a little more pine cone and iridecent gold glimmer mist. Then I stitched through some copper wire through the canvas. I made the wings out of Copic Markers and Glimmer Mist. The frame around my words is also Tattered angels. It has Pine cone and Cinder on it. Then I sanded it. I stamped my title. The butterflies I punched then colored. I used Twigs and dried leaves as well.

Thanks for looking :) Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend :)

Bored !!!!

So the last coupe of days I have had ZERO scrappy mojo!!! I don't know what it is but I need to shake it off fast. I have lots to get done. I'm not a big holiday scrapper, so that may have something to do with it. I do have to say i am on a huge Copic kick!!!! I love them!! i want to make stuff just to use them!

The days are counting down for the new DT at Tattered Angels to show our creations! i am so excited, it's killing me.

Halloween is coming quickly!! and Karlie has been bugging me about her costume for the last week!!! I plan on making her a mask like the one from my blog yesterday. She is wearing a black tutu with pink trim so I am going to match that. Now Q man on the other hand, I have no clue what I will do with him!! He doesn't say much. He is a man of few words lol. I was thinking a little vampire. He has the perfect little widows peak for that and I swear his corner teeth look like they are vampire. We'll see what happens with him. On top of that our friends are having a Halloween party, so I have to think of something for Lance and I. He is being stubborn and says he doesn't want to dress up. He's a Party pooper !!! If you girls have any ideas for costumes let me know please :)

Another drawing I did this evening. Couldn't think of a background for this. If I do you will be the first to see it :) Hugs everyone <3
