This past weekend my cousin Shayesteh married Danyal! The wedding "weekend" started on Thursday with a dinner with both families, and this isn't just a normal, his parents meet her parents, with Persian weddings you invite his ENTIRE family to meet her ENTIRE family. Needless to say I was there and the food was amazing! The best part of this Persian get together was that ended with dancing! No typical American dancing, mind you. I don't know how to describe it but it was way fun, less hips, more shimmy. On Friday we had a more quiet night by having dinner with all of our side of the family eating at the Grand Hotel's Restaurant. It was fun because all of my cousins (or family friends that are close enough that we call them all cousins) were there and all of us that were around the same age sat at the same table and it was like old times, sitting at the "kids table"! Saturday was the Wedding Day! It began with getting ready and then heading over to the Grand Hotel to help Shayesteh get ready and make sure everything was running smooth. My jobs consisted of handing out the flowers to each family member, instructing the little flower girls when to begin walking up the isle, and getting Shayesteh's goregeous dress over her head without messing up her hairstyle. They had a persian ceremony and it was incredible to see the amazing culture that Islam has. Then we ate dinner and then danced until 2:00 A.M. Congrats Shayesteh and Danyal! Thanks for the fun wedding party!
Smile! Marzzieh and I at the wedding! By the way Marzzieh looked incredible, even though she didn't quite get the whole Persian dancing concept :)
You both look incredible!! That sounds like such a fun wedding! I miss you girl! Call me sometime to we can catch up!
