Despedida Dinner

Daddy and Mommy are due to leave for Canada tomorrow for 2 months.  We found a reason to eat out.  We seldom eat in restaurant now a days.  They often stay at Bulacan and we stay in Manila.

We had dinner at the Mini Shabu-Shabu Restaurant at the Fort.  It's been a while since we've eaten in this restaurant.  It's Daddy's favorite.  It may not be kid friendly but my kids survived it.

Have a safe trip Daddy and Mommy!  You deserve the break.

Craving...

Too much Korean novelas, I want to go to SoKor. I want to eat Korean food.

Good thing Omar got hungry =D. We went to Cafe Monaco for our late lunch/early dinner food.

I had bibimbop, he had katsudon.
We had our kimchi soup.
Sarap! I want more! Craving's not done yet.

Day 7: Frankie Tomato

For today, we had lunch at Frankie Tomato. It's an all you can eat pasta and pizza with lotssss of buffet stations.
Thanks to Tita Cora and Tita Lina for the free lunch.
The babies had fun playing around with Henry and feasting over gelato.
Before going home, Summer dragged me to the lobby to have her photos taken at different photo spots pretending you're in Italy.
Another full day! Burp! It was nice meeting you RG!

Day 5: Toronto Zoo and Dinner at Yangs

Finally, a day at the zoo! Less crowded and no rain, thank God!

The babies were excited. I used the animal hats we brought from the Philippines. Summer with the bunny hat and Winter with the monkey hat.
I was surprised that the little boy can already recognize pretty lots of animals already.
They have playground and activities for the kids too aside from animal viewing.
And as if we do not have much photos yet from the zoo, we took more while waiting for Daddy to fetch us.
Too much time waiting, the kids kept on begging us to buy them tokens for some rides. So we gave in so they can take the carousel. And Winter would rather sit on the non-moving turtle. Sayang pera =).
We then had our Japanese dinner at Yang's kitchen. It's an all you can eat, ala carte style.
Everybody's happy, everybody's full, everybody's gaining weight - oopps! except for the babies.

Day 4: Walk in the park and Dinner at Pho

It's Victoria's Weekend and it's a holiday. In Canada, unlike in the Philippines, shopping malls are closed during holidays.

We had a slow day and walked at the park near our home after breakfast. We've been visiting Canada since 2005 and it was my first to set foot at the park next to us. Weather was nice. Summer and Winter sooo look forward to walking around for they know that last stop will be the playground. Plus, we have to burn the food we've been feasting on.
Omar and I played too, not just the kids hahahha. We saw a bench and did a Notting hill scene =).
And family photos while walking around. So this is how it feels like should we stay here for good.
I've been seeing Winter as a little boy now and no longer a baby. He sure do knows how to play in the playground.
And Summer used up all her energy as well.
We went to bring the kids to Toronto Zoo but it rained and parking was quite full due to the holidays so we decided to just go back tomorrow.

The Filipinos in us won't let the holiday stop us from shopping. Chinese are real businessmen. The chinese mall, Pacific Mall, is open! Just like they're the only mall open on Christmas. So we stopped by and roamed around. Little did we know that the Javiers surprisingly went home to see us. Mom and Dad were there. Some went home already but we were able to catch Tita Nil and Tito August who just live in the area.
Mommy, who's been thinking which to prepare and preparing our food, brought us out for dinner at Pho. We were served BIG bowls of noodle soup which we love.
And I just have to have their iced coffee after the spicy soup.
I like this. Relaxing and fun!

A Taste of Weber

We finally got a taste of Dad's much talk about Weber burger. They were so hit that they build they're own overpass so they can accommodate customers from the other side of the highway.

A fire truck welcomed us. Of course, the stage mom in me lit up and my kids and I head straight to the truck not minding our orders and where we will be staying. It was a park for a cause. They give away fire hats to kids and kids can ride the truck to familiarize themselves with the truck and they're asking donations for cancer patients.
Winter just can't stop saying truck!
Oh, we had putin! French fries topped with white cheese and gravy.
And we got to taste what they're famous for, burgers!
We get to enjoy it outdoors with a very nice weather.
The kids had ice cream too to share with everybody and this was my favorite among the four flavors they got - I think it was white paw?
It was a nice park, all clean and green. We were blessed with a good weather. Lots of nice people walking around with their nice dogs.
I like it! I'm having fun. Kids are having fun! Everybody's having fun.
Too bad I wasn't able to ask for the apron, they were selling Weber apron, perfect for Kuya's Weber griller.

Congrats Chef!

As promised, the Chef served us good food during our Sunday dinner in celebration for his promotion. Tita Leslie and Tito Boy came to celebrate with us, as well as friends from the neighborhood.

It wasn't the first time that he served us Truffle Cake from the hotel but it was my first to try it. I know, a chocolate lover that I am, and got to taste it just now. It's just that every time it was served before, I had a sore throat. Well, now, with or without sore throat, I should give it a try.
It was definitely good. Look at that super ultra mega rich chocolate. Haayyyy!!!!
And Mama made sticky rice served with mangoes.
I just sooo love desserts! Congrats Chef!

Ice Cream!!!

Omar and I are in a 3-day diet program. We are allowed to have vanilla ice cream for dessert but just that and nothing else.

So I prepared one instead for the kids - vanilla ice cream sprinkled with marshmallows, banana and chocnut, topped with chocolate syrup.
The kids loved it! Summer ate the chocnuts. Winter ate the marshmallows and banana. I wish I can eat it too.

Omar and I are going to try a 3-day diet program and so we went shopping for the materials. The kids had fun shopping around in mini trolleys.
I hope we can make it.

Korean!

I love Cafe Monaco but parking is so hard. I love Arirang more but it's too far.

Korean novela Temptation of Wife is now playing in my laptop. I can't watch it in our dvd player since it's invaded with Barney or Psalty or Disney cartoons. So you can just imagine the craving from Korean food every time the setting is in their dining room.

Then, luck was just on our side. Omar and I went grocery shopping for home and since we'll be home late, we decided to eat in the area and there was parking available at Cafe Monaco, woohoo!!!

I had my bibimbop.
And my all-time favorite, Kimchi soup.
I was sooooo full. I should have just had the soup and not the bibimbop anymore. Gluttony.

Noodle rice.

Just want to share with you the longest grain of rice I've ever had from my sister from California.
It looked like durog durog na bihon when it's rice. It's as long as the Knorr beef noodle soup. It's like a noodle rice but not long enough to be like rice noodle.

Paella craving.

I've been craving for paella for quite some time now.

We accompanied Mommy to the parlor for her hair cut and she loves paella too. What a perfect timing! We had lunch at Las Paellas!
We had marinara paella.
Summer had mozzarella sticks.
We had french onion soup too.
And we ended our lunch with a frozen yogurt from next door.

Bonifacio day

In our line of work, the more the holidays, the more we have to work. But not this time for people are not bound our way, but to Divisoria for christmas shopping.

Kuya then invited us over for dinner for barbecue.
Omar and I brought ribs and a few slices of salmon.
Kuya had sausages, salad and soup.
When will it happen again?
