Non-Tulip Tilda at Friday Sketchers #106
A happy Sunday to everyone! I hope that your weekend is indeed a special one and hope your upcoming week is delightful as well. I will be having my very LAST chemo tomorrow and I can hardly wait until Monday is in the past! The day to celebrate is getting closer and closer now!! Yippppeeeee!! My card today is quite special since I have used a hand-crocheted butterfly made by one of my fellow chemo patients. She gave me quite a few of these darling critters so I wanted to make her a thank you card showing her how I intended to use them! I hope she likes it!!
Although I am late this week, I wanted to share with you my DT Sample card for Friday Sketchers #106 using the sketch provided by the talented Bea from Germany. Thanks, Bea, for such a fun and challenging sketch! I would love for all of you to come over and join us this week so we can see your interpretation of the sketch as well.
I used Bazzill for the base, PTI and BG for the matting, and the DP is from the Basic Grey Capella paper pad. You will notice that I machine stitched some of the panels and used Swiss Dots CB embossing folder for the other panel. After using the CB folder, I sanded the dots to give them a lighter appearance. Little Tulip Tilda from Magnolia-licious was stamped on Cryogen White and colored with Copics. So that she would match the colors in the DP a little better, I changed her tulip to another kind of flower and added "4 U" on the little tag. I also grounded Tilda with a bit of Copic grass and added Sage Ultra Fine Flower Soft for dimension as well as a couple of flowers. All of the flat flowers are from Crafty Feeling. I merely added rhinestone centers to them and a bit of Stickles for sparkle on the tiny roses. For the vertical band I used wide grosgrain ribbon and added a Bow-Easy bow using a narrower ribbon. Finally I added rhinestones to soften the corners and that absolutely lovely hand crocheted butterfly...isn't it too pretty??
I hope you like my little creation and will be able to join us at Friday Sketchers this week. We would love to see your card using Bea's sketch!! Please visit each of the Sassy Sketcher Girls' blogs and let them know what you think of their magnificent creations!!!
Aud, Bea, Claudia, Inge, Janneke, Jeanette, Tanja
Thank you so much for your visit and I am hoping that you come back often! I appreciate each of you so much and thank you sincerely for the many lovely comments and your cards and emails of support and concern! May your week be a special one!! Big hugs!!

Tulip Tilda at Just Magnolia and a Wee Bit of Sweet Stuff!!
Happy Day everyone and welcome to your weekend, wherever you may be!! I hope your weekend is starting off with a bang and will be most enjoyable!
This week over at Just Magnolia the Design Team was asked to make an easel card and of course the constant requirement is to use at least one Magnolia stamp on our cards. I hope all of you Maggie lovers will join us this week in showing us your easel card using at least one of your Maggies!!!
For my DT Sample Card, I used Bazzill for the base, all matting is PTI, and the DP is the cute cute cute For Peep's Sake-Hot Chicks by Imaginisce. Thank you so much, Suzan, for finding this precious Easter paper for me!! The DP is so darling that I decided to use only the one layer on my card so that the chicks and bunnies and tulips could be seen!! Both major panels were machine stitched. Tulip Tilda from Magnolia-licious was stamped twice on Cryogen White and I cut out one of the images (minus the tulip) to prop up for dimension and she was colored with Copics. The ribbon is PTI and the bows are made with the Bow-Easy. I added a little Easter Basket charm to the front panel bow...notice that I colored the ribbon on the charm with Copics to match the peach color of the DP. The yellow roses in 2 sizes were added on MS punched fronds. Finally I added the Magnolia Happy Easter Squiggly from the Easter 2009 Collection and yellow pearls to soften all corners.
And Now for a touch of SWEET STUFF!!!!
So many of you have asked me about my bows and organza ribbon that I wanted to share with you a little bit of Sweet Stuff from my stash. I CANNOT make a bow without the Bow-Easy...this is the best miracle tool ever made!!! I also have an extra little Tilda like I used on my card that is a part of this little package...so here ya go....
1 Bow-Easy
1 yard of each of the 29 colors of organza ribbon I have in my stash
1 Tulip Tilda
All I am asking that you do in order to be eligible for the Sweet Stuff is to leave a comment and make sure all of your Maggie lover friends know about it so they can come try for it. The cut-off for comments will be Monday, March 22 at Noon DST. Good Luck!!
Thank you so much for dropping by today to see my little creation! I appreciate your visit very much and love to read what you have to say!! Please come back often to see me! Have a magnificent weekend!! Big Maggie hugs from me to you!!
