Wahoo!

A quick, easy card using BIG words for the "As You See It" challenge, and the sketch comes from "Create with Connie and Mary" - although I rotated it so I can continue to use up this dot embossed paper. Anyone else have stashes of leftovers they keep working away at?

I'm going to start working on a newsletter now and then maybe create some collages.
Hope your Saturday is full of fun stuff!

Bicycles, Bicycles….

Yesterday I finished working on the cards from a previous Paper Pumpkin kit.  I have to admit that, although I loved the little bike, I had a hard time with this kit.  In the end though I am happy with what I came up with.  I always create the prototype first and then create 3 other original designs.

I used background stamps from previous pumpkins and punched out hexagons halves.

Thought I'd try a diagonal look and added some Gorgeous Grundge.  The little candy dots worked perfectly for this because it is a single layer card.

For the last one, I took the left over pieces from the sticky strips and laid them down - they were all connected at the ends, so it was relatively easy to get them evenly spaced.

Hope your day is going well.
Thanks for visiting.

Seriously Real Life

I started putting together my Real Life book - which was a previous Paper Pumpkin.  I've decided to use it as a miniature photo journal of what happens during the year - trying to capture the special moments of the month…..It's a good thing I took pictures during January and now I'll have to be conscious of events around me through the year.

I made more dividers and pages using card stock and the Kalidescope DSP.  I'm also using bits and pieces of Paper Pumpkin embellishments that I have left over!

I think from now on I may try to print off the pictures I want to use at Walmart so I can get some smaller sizes that would work well and allow me more space on the pages - or allow for more photos.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the year unfolds.
Hope you are having a fantastic Thursday.
Thanks for dropping in.

Grungy Valentine

Today I joined the Dynamic Duos and Paper Players Challenges. I have a bit of a hard time with single layer cards - but that's why doing challenges is a good thing - they make you work out of your comfort zone from time to time.
I also thought it was time to see what the grunge look was like using subtle colours.  Not too bad, I think.

Hope your day is working out your way!  Thanks for taking time to stop by.
Be sure to check back tomorrow to see what we have for you from MDS Monday.

Framelit Washi Tape

Just a quick post to share what I created this afternoon.  I was playing around with some washi tape today to get ready for my January technique class.
I attached the new Retro Fresh Trio in layers on a rectangle of card stock and then put it through the Big Shot with one of the Apothecary framelits.

The whole arrangement of the card is a bit outside my style zone - but I had a few "oops"s to cover up.

Hope your day is going well - thanks for stopping by for a bit.

Flower Trio

Got a challenge done today for Create with Connie and Mary.  I haven't joined in with these talented ladies for a long time - I've changed things a bit because my flowers were so big.  Thought I'd concentrate on using some non-wintery items today since it's so freezing cold outside!

Here is their sketch.

Hope you are staying warm in your little corner of the world.
Thanks for dropping by,

Noel & More

Sad to say, but I finally got around to playing with the November Paper Pumpkin today.  So, I made the prototype and then went off on a tangent with the other three - I still used the November base, banner and stars - but added  elements from previous Pumpkins - and some upcoming new products.

"You're the Best" comes from the upcoming "Just Sayin'" set with matching framelits.

When I saw the new "Ampersand" embossing folder, I knew I just had to get it for my daughter!

Hope you're having a wonderful Boxing Day.
Thanks for stopping by for a visit.

Rainbow Drips

Just a quick post this morning before I fly off to school.....it's a busy week with building report cards and parent-teacher interviews, plus getting packed for next week's trip.  But, I wanted to share with you a couple of the cards I did on Saturday at Tamye's place at the Diva's Breakfast.

These two are part of an 8 card set using only the Gorgeous Grundge set and the Yippee Skippee word set - part of a product included class which I'm hoping to offer before Christmas.  I love the drips made by the grudge stamp, and especially the little drops with the candy dots!

Stay tuned for details about the class - gotta run to school...
Have a fantastic day!

Happy Anniversary Card

Today I thought I'd share the anniversary card I created for my husband.  I sort of giggled when he opened it and started playing with it.  Flippy cards are a fun thing!

I used the Thinlits Circle Card die and elements from both the label and the circle die sets.  The letters are an old retired set!

Because I wanted to be able to have space to write, I lay the end of the card stock on top of the die like I explained a couple of weeks ago HERE.

I'm hoping to get a lot of crafting and stamping done today - and some arting also!
Hope you day has plans that keep you busy and happy.

Thanks for dropping by for a visit!

Positive & Negative Hi

I finally got around to playing with the Thinlits Label Card Die - fun fun fun...!  I created two cards using the positive and negative pieces.  And I'm sorry you can see that the light in my stamping room was different between yesterday and today!

First I used the die on the 6 x 5.5 piece of cardstock which they give the instructions for.  I used the punched out "hi" and the largest arrow in the set along with the label and "i heart u" die for the flipside of the label.

For the second card, I used a piece of 8.5 x 5.5 cardstock and shaved off 1/16 from the long edge so that it fit into the die easily.....I slipped the paper under the label section making sure that it the righthand end of the paper rested OVER the die so it wouldn't get cut.

Because the paper still received pressure from going through the Big Shot - there is a "score line" available to fold the flap into your card giving extra space to write messages.....

So - when I created the second card, I used the "negative" space from the "hi" with a piece of Island Indigo underneath.  I stamped the front of the flap
and decorated the inside a bit - still leaving space for writing inside the card.

I do love these thinlits  - especially all the little bits that are included with each.

To get yours you can shop at my on-line store, use this weeks Hostess Code   (UDFPW9MK), and I will send you three cards using the Thinlits dies.  Woo Hoo!   The Hostess Code and this offer are good until September 14.

Don't forget today is MDS download day too!
Hope your Tuesday is Terrific!

Truly Grateful

In between getting ready for my Christmas in August, I've MADE time to play with some of my new toys so I would have some new things to display at the workshop.

I've focused on fall for this one:  Truly Grateful caught my eye right away when I saw it in the Holiday Catalogue....that "wooden" chevron and the bundle of wheat are wonderful.  I took a piece of the burlap for the lower layer. The little cluster is made of leaves cut from the Sweater Weather DSP using the Autumn Acents and a piece of chevron ribbon.  The little button is one of the Designer Very Vintage buttons which I have dipped in Versamark, gold embossing powder and then heated.

I am enjoying the summer weather, but I love love love fall - all those leaves just asking to be shuffled through; but I don't want to rush things.

Hope your week has been off to a fabulous start - thanks for visiting.

Happy Day

Oh, Happy Day - I did my first challenge for the summer....actually two.  I've combined the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and the Friday Mashup!

I've used Gorgeous Grundge (from Convention) for the splatters and Happy Day.  I've also added some of the Brights Candy Dots - I like these so much the way they are, I'm not sure I'll ever turn them into brads; but it's nice to have the option.

I'm appreciating the simple sketch - it made the card quick to create.  I'm finding that since I haven't been home for a month, there are so many things that I WANT to do as well as HAVE to do, that I'm not quite sure where I need/want to start.  Guess I'll just take one day at a time!

The Friday Mashup is...
  1. Create a project with "Polka Dots ".
  2. Create a project using "the Word Happy".
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a project "with Polka Dots & The Word Happy on it ".
And the sketch is here...
I have also worked on putting together some of my Paper Pumpkins - I had a number of boxes that I had no time to play with.  The July kit included supplies to create little banners....I opted to change them into cards.  I've only created two right now - I still have supplies for more.

And I guess I've actually completed one more challenge since I found the My Paper Pumpkin Challenge Blog.  I'll be checking it out from now on too.

Off I go to begin the day - hope you have a marvelous one.
Thanks for stopping by.
