Thank You card

Hello again.
Spring is in the air.  Here's a bright thank you card in honour of the season.

The butterfly stamps and die cuts are from Art-C (Momenta), stamped with SU Pumpkin Pie ink.  The background is smooshed (with Distress In-Tumbled Glass) and spritzed with Heidi Swapp Mustard Color Shine.  The stamp (thank) is from Tim Holtz (Stamper's Anonymous) Just Sayings.  The 'you' is an old die cut from Provo Craft. The washi tape is from The Paper Studio.
If the background technique is new to you, search You Tube for 'smooshing' there are lots of resources on there.  :)

Thanks for dropping by.

Have a Happy Day Card.

And here I am again.
I had a very fun day making distress ink backgrounds the other day.  The benefit of that is that I now have a ton of ready to go backgrounds for cards.

The background here is made by stamping Distress Ink (Dusty Concord) onto acetate, then spritzing the acetate with water and 'smooshing' it onto watercolor paper.  I did this a few times till I got the result I wanted.  Fun technique.
The stamps are both from SU-Beautiful You and Hey, Chick.  Embossing folder is from Anna Griffin-Ogee Damask.

See you soon,
Ivanka

Happy Birthday Card

Hello again.
I've been playing a ton with distress ink backgrounds and have more to share.
Today I'm back to my favorite card layout/design.  When I'm stuck for  a design or have to make a card  in  hurry, this layout never disappoints.

The image is a sticker from Penny Black.  The sentiment is from Gina K (Birthday Duo).  The embossing folder is Anna Griffin-Wildflower Gate.  Ribbon and 1/2 pearls are from my stash.

This on it's way to a very special aunt who is turning 80.

See you again soon,
Ivanka

Cupcake Card.

Hello.

It's me.  If you're still here...thank you for hanging in.
I've been wanting to get back into making cards, it seems to be a slow process.
So I thought I'd just go with the flow...no pressure...whatever happens...happens.

And so, this little cutie happened.  The background is from a Project Life pack. I'm not doing Project Life...I just liked this pack.  And it happens to be perfect for cards.
The cupcake is from Michaels, the embossing folder is 'Dainty' by  Lifestyle Arts.  I cut the first circle with Spellbinder's Nestabilities, but then didn't have a coordinating size I liked.  So I fired up the Silhouette and cut one that is the perfect size.  Still learning about the Silhouette, but liking it so far.
So there you go...a simple card...

See you soon.

Here's the inside.  Sentiment and tag cut with the Cameo Silhouette.  Loving the Silhouette more each time I use it.

Happy Birthday

Hello there.
Here's a quick card I made for my daughter's 20th birthday a few weeks ago.  I still have a hard time believing that my baby is 20.  Time has just flown.

The background is painted with SU ink pads and water pen brush.  The images are from Autumn Leaves and the sentiment is from Tim Holtz.

Thanks for dropping by.

I've had some time and luckily the creative mojo has decided to return.

Birthday Card

Hello.
Where the heck does the time go?  It's inconceivable how fast it goes.
There has been very little creativity in the studio lately.  Today seems different.  The sun is shining, the daffodils are blooming and my mojo seems to have made a reappearance!!

Today, I'm playing along with Poppy Sketches #2.  Love the sketch and absolutely lot the pop of colors they've chosen.

Here's my card.

The fabulous stamp is Hello Gorgeous by Penny Black.  I stamped in black and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  I colored the stamp with LuminArte's Twinkling H2O's (Poppy Red and Autumn Skies).  The sticker is from SRM-Calendar Companion.  The background paper is Antique Script from Bazzill Basics.

Speaking of SRM, I'm entering this into their very first challenge on their new SRM Challenge Blog.  Have you checked it out?  There is a fabulous prize up for grabs and 9 days left in the challenge.

Thanks for dropping by,
Ivanka

Happy Birthday.

Hello.

It's been a while, hasn't it?  No real explanation.  Perhaps it's winter hibernation...

Anyway, it's good to be back and today I'm joining in with CAS-ual Fridays blog for their Shades of Gray challenge.

Here's my card.

The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye (Chalk Studio),  The stamp is from PTI, everything else is from my stash.  I heat embossed the frame and the flower with Zing Embossing Powder (Powder shade), I painted the medallion with DecoArt white acrylic paint then wiped some off while paint was still wet, then heat set it.  I added some shimmery white chalk to the card stock.

Thanks for dropping by...

Happy Birthday Card

Good Morning.
So, I don't know if you do this, but I tend to 'hoard' things that I really like.  I finally realized that I have no idea what I'm saving these things for.  It has been a very freeing experience to finally use things up.

The light house sticker is one of those things.  It's from PSX and I've got 2 sheets left.  I'm finally using them up.  You'll see a few more cards from me with different light house images.

The faux wax seal from Sonnets is another one of my hoarded items.  The original package of 4 had been in my stash for probably 10 years.
Not any longer.  They are all used up.
Feels good.

Happy Saturday.
Thanks for dropping by,
Ivanka

Two Quick Cards...

Hello,
I'm still digging through my scraps and long forgotten supplies.  Both the sticker in the first card and the image in the second have been in my scrap pile for years.  Probably longer than 5 years.

Nice to finally use them.  And how cute is that dog bone button?!  I wish I knew who made it.  I would love to have more.

Thanks for dropping by.  Wishing you a happy Monday tomorrow.  :)

The Rose

Hello...
I found a new (to me) challenge site.  Fusion Card Challenge.  So fun to see new ways to challenge ourselves.  Here is this week's challenge.

Here's my card using the photo as inspiration.

Sadly, this is one of the few PSX rose stickers I have left.  I had been hoarding these for years, they are so gorgeous.  The typed paper is from Stampin' UP!, the embossing folder is Acanthus from Anna Griffin, ribbon is from Offray, sentiment stamp and heart die are from PTI and the sentiment tag is a punch from EK Success.

This reminds me of...The Rose.  Yes, I'm that old!! :)

Thanks for dropping by.

Crate Paper & CardMaker Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to another fun blog hop.  We at the CardMaker  blog team are so excited to join in the fun with the amazing artists from the Crate Paper Design Team.  Today we are featuring Crate Paper's gorgeous Maggie Holmes line!  What a fabulous line, so much fun to create with.

For my project today, I started with some white acrylic paint from DecoArt and I dry brushed the Emily Jane paper to distress.  I then used the ephimera die cut cardstock, tags and butterfly.

For the coordinating gift box, I added some distressed cardstock to the top of the box, then die cut a label from the same paper, added some ribbon, twine and a die cut bow from the Ephimera die cut line.

I am in love with this line and can't wait to hop along and see all the beautiful projects created for the hop today.

Your next stop on the hop is:

And don't forget to stop by the Crate Paper Blog where they are hosting a $40 prize pack giveaway of Maggie Holmes items.

Hope you enjoy the blog hop.
