Wonderful Mother

Hello Peeps, thanks for stopping by today! Can you beleive it is the last day of January already?

Today's card is a girly version of my Wonderful Friend Card.

I changed this one to be for Mother's Day. I started with a base of rose red, followed that up with some cameo coral and then some whisper white and finally some DS paper from the Raspberry Tart pack. I really love the colors in this card. The strip is also DS paper from the same pack with some whisper white scallops on each side.

The flowers are from the new set Petal Pizazz and the sentiment is from the SU set Wonderful Favorites. I used some white taffeta ribbon and a silver ribbon slide. The flower is up on dimensionals with a sticky pearl in the center. I also added three pearls in the upper right corner.

I want some opinions on this card please, what should I change or do different to improve it. I was thinking I might submit this one and need some help please.

What do you think?

Happy Stamping!

Top Note Box

TGIF Peeps!!! Hope you are all having a great Friday!

Today I have a fun little box to show you. It has been a couple of weeks or so since I made any boxes so it is time! LOL! I just love making little boxes. This one is so fun, very quick and easy! Just my type! I saw this original box on a blog somewhere, and now I can't find it to give credit to, if you know who it is, let me know and I will link it up from here.

First you start by taking your DS paper and adhering it with some mono glue or a glue stick or whatever adhesive you like, to some lightweight cardboard, I used the cardboard that comes in the designer paper packs. This really adds sturdiness to the box. I glued mine on with some mono adhesive and ran it through my cuttlebug with the top note die. You will need two of these, I cut my DS paper into 4 inch strips so you could get 3 of these boxes out of one piece of DS paper.

You will also need to pieces of cardstock cut at 4-1/4 inch by 5-1/2 inch. Score one of the pieces on all four sides at 1 inch. One the next just drop the score line down by an 1/8 inch, so it will fit inside the other. Cut on the parallel lines and fold up you sides. I used score tape on the corners and I also used score tape to attach the top note to the box top and bottom.

If you are going to use some ribbon on your top, put that on before taping the top note to the box top.

I used a stamp from the Love You Much stamp set to decorate the front along with some ribbon.

Here is one I did with some Chocolate chip DS paper and red ribbon.

Well that's all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

Fabulous Sketch

Good Thursday morning Peeps! I hope you all are having a great week, we are fast approaching the weekend and that is always good!

My card today was made for the sketch challenge on Mercy's Blog. She certainly has a knack for making sketches, and I have certainly got a knack for totally straying from the sketch. LOL!!!

My card is a 5-1/4 inch square and I was very much inspired by this card on Jenn's Blog "Stamp Your Heart Out". She is a fabulous talent.

I started with a piece of kiwi kiss card stock and followed that with a 1/4 inch smaller piece of riding hood red, followed by a piece of whisper white and then a piece of the oh so pretty Raspberry Tart DS paper. The back layer has another piece of the same DS paper layered on some more riding hood red and kiwi kiss card stock. I stamped the leaves from the SU Level 3 Hostess set "Dream a Little". The flower is stamped three times on scrap white with pink and then stamped again with the outline stamp with riding hood red ink. I then cut them out and layered it up with dimensionals. The hummingbird was stamped with basic gray that had been stamped off once. I then colored in his belly with a blender pen and some ink from the lid of the riding hood red ink. He is mounted on dimensionals as well. I added some pink pirouette ribbon around the back panel and some big white brads in both corners.

The sentiment is from the SU set "Absolutely Fabulous" and was stamped basic gray ink.

Well, that's all for today, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Friend to Friend

Good Wednesday morning peeps!!! Another snow day here. The snow and ice have actually stopped but it is still a little scary out. It all started Monday afternoon with freezing rain and man was everything slick! I walked outside of the store where I work to retrieve an item from the sidewalk and fell flat on my butt!!! The ice was deceiving, I thought the sidewalk was just wet, but quickly found out otherwise, I had to literally crawl on my hands and knees back to the covered door area to be able to get up. Needless to say the item on the sidewalk stayed there until hubby came by! Then yesterday we got a mountain of snow, well more like 4 or so inches but it came down so hard and such big flakes for so long, I thought for sure we would be buried! I got to close the sore early yesterday and so I went home and was able to complete my Elvis order. They will be hitting the mailbox soon! I am so excited and a little nervous, I hope she is happy with them.

On to today's card. I used this sketch on Karen Giron's Blog The
Sweetest Thing. I really had trouble with it and I took way to much time to finally come up with something and still it doesn't completely fit the sketch but comes close enough, I think.

I started with a riding hood red base and followed that with some whisper white and some designer paper from the Urban Garden pack. I used the SU stamp set "Love You Much". I originally had intended to use the Love you much stamp from the set but couldn't get it to work for me, so I finally just chucked that portion and went onto the birds. I paper pieced them with some of the DS paper. I punched the heart out with the 3 heart punch with riding hood red. The flowers are punched with the 3 for you flower punch in baja and have a silver brad from the silver hodge podge kit. The friend to friend sentiment is punched out with the word window punch and has another baja flower mounted on one end. I used my new Martha Stewart Valentine Lace punch to add the hearts on the side. I used some riding hood red ribbon and a silver ribbon slide for the knot. The brads are from the flower brads and I put a small circle of riding hood red in the center and covered it with a little crystal effects. The center piece is mounted with dimensionals.

Well, that's all for today. Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

Forever in my Heart

Happy Tuesday! Hope you are all having a great week so far!

Today's card I made for the sketch on Jen's Blog. I am again playing with this fun Bella Blossom stamp set. I am also using some of my very favorite papers, the SU Urban Garden. I never knew I love "Not Quite Navy" so much until I got this paper and now I have a hard time reaching for anything else! LOL!!!

I started the card with a base of NQN, followed by sone old olive and then the two pieces of DS paper. The sentiment is from the SU set "stem Sayings. The sentiment panel is under the strip of DS paper on the right side. a really cute idea I think and I probably would have never thought to do it on my own. I used some old olive ribbon that is 5/8 inch and used a ribbon slide from the silver hardware kit. the brads are NQN and silver flowers. The flower is layered up like yesterdays card. The stem and leaves are from SU's new set "petal pizazz", stamped with old olive and cut out and glued on. I trimmed the stem at the edge of the bottom of the card.

Well, that is it for today, be safe and warm and thanks so much for stopping by. Happy Stamping!

Bella Thank you

Good Monday Morning Peeps! Hope you all had a great weekend! I was busy most of the day yesterday working on, you guessed it, Elvis cards, and I happy to report that I am more than half done. I hope to have them in the mail by the middle to end of this week! We are under a winter storm advisory, with ice and sleet and snow predicted later today. I hope we don't lose power, last ice storm our power was out 5 days! It was miserable.

I did take a break from Elvis to make a card to show you today. I wanted to use my new to me set, Bella Blossoms. I just got it on Friday night and was anxious to play with it. I also wanted to use the sketch on the
Our Creative Corner blog. I am not sure it qualifies for the sketch because I added the large panel on the front with my Bella Blossom. I did use the two round corner elements. Soooooo....anyway, I do LOVE this stamp! It is so pretty and makes really pretty cards, but it is large!

I started with a base of riding hood red , followed by a piece of kiwi and a piece of DS paper from the Bella rose pack. the center strip is made up of white, riding hood and DS paper from the Bella pack. I stamped the flower with riding hood and kiwi on whisper white card stock. I then stamped the flower two more time on scraps of white with riding hood red. I cut out the two front pieces of the flower and layered them up with some dimensionals. The sentiment is from the same stamp set and was stamped with riding hood red. I masked off the "you" first and stamped the "thank" part with RHR and then did the same with the "you", centering it under the "thank" so I could use my 1" punch and some pretty hardware from the stylized silver hodgepodge kit. The opposite corner has a large spiral clip with a piece of RHR ribbon tied on and held down with a glue dot. I added two small photo corners on the other two corners underneath the flower panel.

I have to take some time to show you a couple of awards that have been sent to me lately.

The first was given to me by Chat on her blog "Me, My Stamps and I. She is a fabulous stamper and so sweet. I stalk her blog regularly.

And then this weekend I received another from this wonderful stamper, Kim Evans,

Stamping with Kim. Check out her blog, it is awesome!

Well, that is all for today, Thanks so much for stopping by, be sure to come by tomorrow for another card with this same set! Happy Stamping!!

You Made my Day

TGIF Peeps! Are you ready for the weekend! I am super excited, I have stamp camp tonight with my fabulous SU demo and her awesome group. She has a sneak peek on her BLOG of the fun projects we will be making!

On today's card I was greatly inspired by the one seen in this post on Jan Tink's Blog. I changed up a few things from her original design. I used the top note die and I used different colors. The placement of my ribbon and brads are different and I also cut out and layered up the blue flowers and added a half pearl to the center. I also added some leaves in always artichoke.

I do have to tell you how I struggled getting those solid flowers to stamp out nicely, well just the riding hood red one. I swear I cut and used at least 6 top note pieces, front and back. I was so frustrated, I almost chucked the whole thing!

Anyway I finally finished it.....but by this point I am not loving it! The base is riding hood red, followed with a piece of so saffron and then some Washington Apple DS paper. The main image is up on dimensionals. The sentiment is from the SU set "Stem Sayings."

That is all for today, THANKS so much for stopping by and Happy Stamping!!!
