Stamping 411......Owl Birthday

Hello Peeps!!

What a week we have had here!!!

I almost didn't get my card for this weeks Stamping 411 sketch challenge completed.
I actually had it mostly done but not photographed or edited.

Here is this week's sketch:

I do love this cute little owl stamp set from the Stampin Up Holiday catalog. It is called "Owl Occasions" and has some cute accessories for the little owl.
I keep my card fairly simple, the base is crumb cake card stock and then a layer of pacific point and then another layer of crumb cake that I embossed with the woodgrain EF.

I used some daffodil delight and the perfect trimmings edgelit to mat the DSP which is from the International Bazaar paper pack.
I used the labels framelits dies to die cut the main image piece with the owl and for the daffodil piece behind the owl.
The sentiment piece is die cut with the bitty banners framelits and the sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. I stamped the owl with pacific point and the hat, balloon and present  are stamped with rich razzleberry ink.

Stamping 411......So Sorry

Happy Saturday Peeps!!

Sorry I am late posting my 411 Challenge Card this week.
Have had a few things going on with DH that kept my focus elsewhere.
He is home from the hospital now and taking it easy.

Now onto my card.
Here is this week's sketch:

Pretty easy and straight forward layout.

I used two Stampin Up sets for this one, the flower is from the pretty "Summer Silhouettes"  and the sentiment is from the "So Sorry" set. Don't you love that pretty font?

The base of the card is white card stock and the next layer is Primrose Petals, one of the new in colors this year. I then used a new Embossing Folder and white card stock again for my next layer
The pretty embossing folder is called Lacy Brocade and is available in the new Stampin Up Holiday Mini.

The DSP is from the pretty "Fan Fair" pack. I used the Labels Collection Framelits for my main image piece. I stamped my flower stem with old olive ink and then use primrose and my stamp a ma jig to add the blooms. I stamped the blooms a second time with out re-inking to ge the lighter effect.
The sentiment is also stamped with sentiment and primrose ink. The "So Sorry" is one stamp and then the "for your loss"  is another single stamp. There is many other sentiments to go along with the "So Sorry",  this set is really a nice with the variety of sayings.
I added a little embossed butterfly made with the Beautiful Wings embosslit die. I used some of the primrose ribbon and some silver brads for my accents.

Be sure to head over to the Stamping 411 Blog to see what the rest of the operators did with this fun sketch!

411....Christmas Cheer

Hello peeps!!

It is that time again, time for another new sketch challenge on the Stamping 411 Blog.

Here is this week's sketch:

I have to admit this sketch gave me fits, trying to figure out the squares, took me a bit of time, good thing they have some suggested sizes on the 411 Blog!

I did get to have some fun with a few more new goodies, some items from the Stampin Up Holiday Mini that will be available in just a few short days.
Isn't that image so cute? It is from the new "Wonderful Winterland" set. It has the most adorable images and the are perfect for doing a bit of coloring!!

The sentiment is from the "Sweet Essentials" stamp set.
There is a bit of  some new DSP peeking out on here too, the blues you see on here are from the "Festivals of Prints" paper stack.
The base of the card is Cherry Cobbler and then the next layer is Very Vanilla and the Cherry Cobbler DSP is from the "Be of Good Cheer" pack.
I added a few silver pearls, non SU, on the corners and it is finished.
Be sure and head over to the 411 Blog to see the rest of the operators creative takes on this fun sketch.

411.....Hello dear friend

Hello Peeps!!!

It is time for another new sketch challenge over on the Stamping 411 Blog.

This is a fun and easy layout to work with with, I loved it.
I pulled out this awesome new set from Stampin Up called "Moving Forward", what a great set, the images are so cute, can work for adults or children and with every set sold Stampin Up donates $3 to Ronald McDonald House Charities, what could be better than that?

The tricycle is stamped with black stazon onto white card stock and then matted with a real red scallop circle.
I added two silver brads for accents on the wheels and popped up the basket.

I used some real red polka dot DSP and added some real red ribbon for more accents. Don't you love that argyle EF? The base of the card is real red also.
Cute, easy and fast!
Be sure and head over to the 411 Blog to see what the rest of the operators made with this sketch.

Stamping 411......Thank You

Happy Friday Peeps!
Time for another new sketch at the Stamping 411 Blog.

Here is our sketch for this week:

I played around with this one a bit before I came up with my card. Took me awhile to decide on something but finally made it work for me.
I used a couple of the new in colors, Raspberry Ripple and Primrose Petals. Love these new colors.
The DSP on here is from the Fan Fair pack and I think this piece works well with these two colors altho they are not any of the colors listed in the catalog that goes with this paper pack. Oh well! :)

The sentiment is from the Perfectly Penned stamp set and the flower is from the Everything Eleanor set.

I used one of the Apothecary Accents Framelits for the Sentiment Panel and the new Essentials Paper Piercing Pack that matched the die cut. I used it both on the inside and on the piece around the sentiment.
the doily I mounted the flower on is from the Delicate Doilies Sizzlits and the "lacey" border picking out from under the ribbon is one of the Finishing Touches Edgelits.

Be sure and head on over to the 411 Blog to see what the rest of the operators have done with this sketch, I hope you can play along with us and be sure and link up your creation over there for us all to see.

Stamping 411.......Friend

Happy Friday Peeps!!

Time for another new sketch at the Stamping 411 Blog.

Here is our sketch for this week:

Nice sketch and lends it self so well to a Clean and Simple Design, which is not always my forte but I am working on it!

I pulled out a sweet little Stampin Up set called "Lean on Me"m such cute little images in this set.
I stamped the image onto some white card stock with black stazon and colored her with my aqua brush and ink pads. Very Easy with this one!

The base of the card is pool party card stock and then the next layer is Midnight Muse and then the DSP is from the Comfort Cafe pack.
I added Midnight Muse ribbon along the bottom and two basic pearls in the top corners.

Stamping 411.....Birthday Wishes

Hello Peeps!!

Time for another new sketch challenge on the Stamping 411 Blog

Here is our sketch for this week:

I pulled out the pretty Comfort Cafe DSP  from Stampin Up. It has a fall feel to it in my opinion. The colors are so pretty, I settled on this piece with some Cajun Craze and Soft Suede colors in it and went from there.
I made some rolled flowers and added a pearl to the centers.
The flowers and leaves are arranged on a "doily" die cut from the Delicate Doilies Sizzlits. I used very vanilla for that.

The base of the card is Cajun Craze and then a layer of Soft Suede that I embossed with the square lattice EF.
The sentiment is from the retired Occasional Quotes stamp set.

Be sure and head on over to the 411 Blog to see what the others have done with this sketch

Stamping 411 .....Here for you

Hello Peeps!!

Time for another new sketch challenge on the Stamping 411 Blog

Here is our sketch for this week:

This is actually the first card I made when I received my new Stampin Up "Pleasant Poppies" stamp!

I am totally loving this stamp, so pretty! I also used some of the new fun Polka Dot DSP.
The poppies were stamped with black stazon onto white card stock and colored. I then ran the image through my big shot using the Square Lattice EF. Love the look of this.

The sentiment on here comes from another new set called Blooming with Kindness. The sentiments and font in this set are so pretty.
I have an excess of the smallest pearls that comes in the assorted pearl pack and had been looking for a way to use some of them. I added them around the sentiment piece, I think it looks nice....whatcha think?
I added three pearls in the upper corner and some white taffeta ribbon to finish it off.

Stamping 411.....Happy Birthday

Happy Friday Peeps!!!

It's time for another new sketch challenge on the Stamping 411 Blog.

Here is the fun sketch for this week:

I had a bit of a time with this sketch at first, I tend to over think things but once I stepped back and thought about it a bit I decided to pull out  this cute little Stampin Up set called "Betsy's Blossoms".
I stamped the bird with rich razzleberry ink twice and then cut it out and cut out the wing on the second one and added it to the bird with a dimensional.
The sentiment on here is from the "Curly Cute" stamp set.

The DSP on here is from the "Floral District" pack. The base of the card is rich razzleberry and then a layer of white and then the DSP. I added a banner under the bird with Daffodil Delight and the ribbon is Daffodil Delight seam binding. I finished it up with a few little flowers made with the Itty Bitty punch pack with rhinestone centers.

Stamping 411....Happy Birthday

Happy Friday Peeps!!

Time for another Stamping 411 challenge
I have told you all before how freaked out I get by sketches like this one, you know the kind with small repeating elements. I find them a bit challenging to say the least.
I did know immediately that I wanted to use this Stampin Up set called "Bright Blossoms". I got it back when it was first made available to us and it has sit virtually unused since then. The images are quite small, so perfect for this type of sketch.
I am kinda hooked on rich razzlebbery, it is such a great color.

Here is the sketch we are using this week:

I stamped the small images with razzleberry and gumball green ink. I used my 1" circle and 1-1/4" circle punches for the flowers and mat pieces.
The sentiment on here comes from the retired "Happiest Birthday Wishes" stamp set.

The DSP on here is from the Summer Smooches paper pack. I used some new daffodil delight ribbon and a few little rhinestones for my embellishments.

The inside:

Stamping 411.......Many Thanks

Happy Monday Peeps and Memorial Day for all of us here in the US.
Love this holiday, a three day weekend, the official start of summer and the day to honor our Veterans.

Today I am sharing a card made using the sketch this week on the Stamping 411 Blog.

I can not even tell you how obsessed I am with Geraniums. A fave summer flower of mine.
I think of them as old fashioned, the remind me of a favorite Aunt, she always had a flower box full of them on her front porch every summer.
I especially love the red ones, and I wanted to try to make some.
I really dislike that SU does not have some pretty old fashion flower stamps, some with clay pots or flower boxes and geraniums.......oh well! :)
I am not sure my final creation looks alot like a geranium, but I still like the outcome.
I used one of the punches from the "Itty Bitty Punch Pack" to make my flower head. I punched alot of flowers using both real read and cherry cobbler card stock. I used my cushioned foam piece from my mat pack to lay the flowers on and pressed the center in. I punched a circle with scrap paper and curled it by using the foam mat and my stylus, going around in circles from the edge to the center and then used a couple of dimesionals to add it to my base piece. I then just started gluing on my little flower heads all over the circle, overlapping to cover the circle.
I then used some always artichoke scraps to make my stem and leaves. the leaves are punched with the butterfly punch and then embossed with the square lattice EF.
The clay pots was made using some cajun craze card stock, I cut a square and then angle cut from the top to bottom to make the flower pot. I added a small strip across the top of that piece. I sponged the edges heavily with cajun craze ink.

One thing I know about geraniums is that the little flower heads fall off alot, so I added a few random flowers around the bottom of the pot.
The sentiment is from the "Petite Pairs" stamp set, I used my 1" circle and 1-1/4" circle punch for the sentiment and mat.
I colored several small pearls with a copic marker to add to the flower centers and to the corners and sentiment piece.
So what do you think, does it sorta resemble a geranium?

Well, thanks so much for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!

Stamping 411......Happy Birthday Pinwheel

Happy Tuesday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week on the Stamping 411 Blog.

After looking at the sketch a bit I decide I would make a pinwheel, they are very popular right know and even tho I have a die from another company that makes the cutesiest pinwheels, I decide to make one on my own. The kind that any one could duplicate, weather they have a die or not.
This one is made by starting with a 3 inch square of DSP . So cute and so easy.
I used some of the new Floral District paper that will be available from Stampin Up when the catalog breaks the first of June.

The base of my card is white card stock and I used Rose Red card stock for matting my layers.
The sentiment is from the Friendly Phrases stamp set. I matted the sentiment piece with Pumpkin Pie card stock.
I used one of the punches from the Itty Bitty Punch pack to make the little flower accents.
I used a wooden skewer for the handle to my pin wheel. I glued the pinwheel to the skewer using my glue gun and I used the glue gun to attach the pinwheel to the card.
There is no way this card would fit into a standard envelope. It is one of those cards that would be best hand delivered or attached to a present or gift bag.
I think the pinwheel turned out so cute!!
I will do a little tutorial on making these pinwheels if anyone is interested. Just leave me a comment.

Thanks for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!

Stamping 411......Miss You

Happy Monday Peeps!
How was your weekend?
We had a great one, got alot accomplished and did just enough of nothing to make you feel good.
I have been working on some primitive wood pieces, I may show them to you later.
I also got a Kindle Fire for Mother's Day! I am so stoked about this.
But onto today's card, I put this together yesterday using this week's sketch on the Stamping 411 Blog.
I pulled out a retired hostess set called "Up in the Air", I loved this set because of these flowers, but I do find myself passing it over time and time again for some reason. So I tried to give it a go again to make soemthing I liked with it.

I stamped the flowers three times across the main panel, masking of the butterflies and sentiment that are part of this stamp. I then stamped the flowers a couple of more times onto some scrap paper. I colored the flower heads with my aqua painter using my daffodil delight ink pad. I then cut out a few from the scrap stamped ones and added them to my panel with some dimesionals.
I used some old olive for my stems and leaves.

The base of my card is daffodil delight card stock, I then used Early espresso card stock for the next layer and the DSP on here is from the Summer Smooches and First Edition paper packs.
I used some Daffodil Delight seam binding across the middle and I tried to get a bow on here like the sketch, but it was just not happening.
My squares are made up of  confetti and early espresso card stock. I used my square lattice EF on those.
I added some butterflies made with the beautiful wings embosslit die and finished it off with some basic pearls.
I am eagerly awaiting a box from Mr. Brown today with some new goodies, so stay tuned1
Thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!

Stamping 411......Birthday Wishes

Happy Monday Peeps!!
Hope you all had a great weekend and are ready to tackle another week!

Today I am sharing a card I made yesterday using the sketch this week on the Stamping 411 Blog.
I started out with the image, this fabulous truck from the Stampin Up "Countryside" stamp set.
I stamped the image onto some confetti white card stock with black stazon and colored using my aqua painter and ink pads. I used Island Indigo for the truck.
I thought I might be able to make a masculine card with this image, but in the end I had to go and "girl" it up with the little flowers! I just couldn't help myself, it is just how I roll!!! LOL!!

The base of the card is Island Indigo card stock and then I followed that up with some Pool Party card stock that I embossed using the square lattice EF. The DSP on here, the red and blue are both from the "Summer Smooches" pack.
The sentiment is from the Stampin Up "Petite Pairs" set. I used my circle punches, 1-1/4" and 1-3/8" to punch out the sentiment and for the mat.
So who would get this card, a guy or a girl or could it go either way? Not sure....hmmmm?
Well, that is all from me today, thanks for stopping by today and be sure and leave me a comment, I love hearing from you!
HAPPY STAMPING!!

Stamping 411...Heartfelt Thanks

Happy Thursday peeps!
Sorry for the lack of posts this week, I have been getting ready for a girls weekend. I am so excited to get away and craft a bit and just enjoy some friends and make a few new ones!

Anyway, on to today's card, I made this one using the sketch this week on the Stamping 411 Blog. I just love the sketches over there and they offer up measurements to help you get started if you need.
I had this card mostly put together and was unhappy with the blank spot at the top. I tried several things and finally decide I would emboss that layer. So I had to take it all apart, but I like the outcome.
As  I was looking through my embossing folders, I found this one, I haven't used this one in forever and I think it is perfect for my card. Love how the swirls look on it. This embossing folder is called Elegant Lines.
I used the stamp set "Bordering on Romance". Stamped it onto some confetti cream card stock with black stazon and colored with my aqua painter and ink pads.

The sentiment is from the "Sweetheart" stamp set.
I added some calypso coral ribbon and I used one of the punches from the Itty Bitty Punch pack for my three flowers. I added some basic pearls to the flower centers.

Well, thanks for stopping by and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Vicki
