I desire- several more pairs of espadrilles

I was checking out a pair of yellow espadrille from Urban Outfitters for about a month before I finally picked up a pair for myself this week. They are pretty simple, but totally campy. And by far the most comfortable shoes my feet have ever encountered. I am absolutely and totally in love. It's like walking on air. Or something.

They add a fun element to my style, which goes very well with the great summer weather we are experiencing here in Albuquerque. I can see them doing well in Taiwan too, where silly trendy and bright colors seem to make an appearance on the streets every summer.

For the first time in my life I want to go back to the store and buy more shoes. I desire several more pairs of these babies. They also come in blue, white, grey, red, and black. And at $14 a pair for something this fun and comfy it's a steal.

Sadly they do not come in purple, which seems to be becoming a staple in my wardrobe. I have seen a pair of purple canvas plimsolls at Urban Outfitters. Tempting...

New Year, New shoes, Night out

We're ringing in the New Year tonight in Taipei! I can't wait to get my behind on a dancefloor again. It has been too long. And is it should be we got some new items to wear for ringing in the Year of the Tiger. I picked up a pair of classic white Converse Chuck Taylors last night. I know, I should have been wearing these when I was in my tweens, but recently I have become kind of obsessed with Converse and my feet aren't complaining so...

Happy New Year, may the Tiger bring you all lots of joy and goodness this year.
*Update: Rats scrap that. Plans got cancelled at the last moment so it seems our behinds will stay put in Hsinchu. I'll be wearing my new shoes under the covers and catch up on 30Rock and The Office. Happy New Year!

I desire- Onitsuka Tigers

I love Onitsuka Tigers. They are just the funnest footwear around. I fell in love the first time I laid my eyes upon a pair back in Taiwan, but oddly enough I've never owned any. I almost bought some last year on vacation in Kaohsiung, but I went back to the store the next morning they hadn't opened yet and so I missed my chance as we had to catch a train.

With my next paycheck (whenever that may be) I'm not risking anything and grabbing myself a pair of these Mexico 66 Onitsuka Tigers. They were the first Tigers to be introduced with the iconic stripes and were worn at the 1966 Olympic Games in Mexico City. Since it might be a while before my next proper paycheck I will not hold it against anyone who feel like splurging on a pair for me. I'm a UK size 8, thanks.
