Christmas Gifts & Cards Part 1

I know, it's been a LONG time since I've posted anything. I have been very unmotivated and kinda depressed with the crafting world! I knew I had to get back out there for Christmas, so here are some of the projects I've made so far for gifts!

First, the cards:

I decided to try my hand at making my own snowglobe card, so I used George to put this one together. Added on the cute bird from Jolly Holidays and voila!

I used my new Paper Trimmings on this one - love those cuts! Got out my glimmer mist for a snowy background and, once again, pulled a cut fox from Jolly Holidays!

Made my own simple round card and added on a cute teddy from Christmas Solutions.

I also made some coasters for the first time - so easy and fun - and they look so nice!

I used a 2x4 to create a desk block for my son's teacher. One side is personalized with her name, and the other side I put on this quote from Yoda:

I also created these bags for my son's teachers. I used the freezer paper method, and let me tell you, I love making stuff with that! I have done several things this year so far!

Weekly Challenge 15 - Feeling Frosty!

Time for this weeks challenge! We were to use white paint, a snowflake cut, and something metal in our project. I obviously have the snowflake cuts within, splattered the background of blue paper with some white paint for snow effect, and used some small metal brads to hold on the 10 Months tag and for the center of the bottom snowflake and the snowflake in snow!

Some Cards

I know it's been a while since I've posted, once again. Life happens! These last couple weeks have been insanely busy and I've been sewing instead of scrapping! So, here are a few cards I've made lately to tide you over:

First, birthday card for a little girl using Rock Princess - LOVE this cart!

Birthday card for a little boy using Robotz.

My first sympathy card.

All for Fall Contest

Here's my entry for the fall layout contest. I loved this photo of my son with his cousins at the pumpkin patch last year so I had to use it! I had a GREAT time doing this!!! Used embossing for the first time and that was nice and fun and messy too! I like messy!

Infomercial Entry

This was my project for the infomercial contest, and here is the info I sent them:

I was so excited to participate in this contest and was inspired by my kids. I wanted to create a new piece of wall art for their room, so even before I had received my 3 Birds on Parade cartridge, I had a vision in my head for my little knight and my sweet princess.

Using a 12 x 12 canvas, I first painted it bright green, then I cut out an 11.5" base page from Storybook (Flourish3/the #4) and adhered that to the canvas.
I used 3 Birds on Parade to cut 5 1/2" birds for the knight bird (Knight) and the fairy bird (Fairy). I used both Storybook and Lyrical Letters (Jumbo) to cut the letters for the words and I cut them from 2 different colors and shadowed them. I had them drawn up in DS, but was uncertain if we could use that, so I went all manual, just in case! I used gems and pearls to add embellishments to the crown, sword, and tutu.

I am very excited for how it turned out. I absolutely love using my Cricut and it is my way to relax and create! I painter and a photographer, so I like combining all my skills to create unique pieces of art. It is a constant learning process and I'm always finding new things to try!

Some close ups of the birds and detail work.

Weekend Challenge

The challenge for this weekend was to use paper we already had and I took this opportunity to make my cousin a birthday card in the process! I had a lot of fun doing it!
