Lunar New Year Challenge | Health and Happiness

Hi Crafty friends, I have a post up on the Lunar New Years Challenge blog today for my last post as Guest Designer. I'm excited to share my December project with you today. My card features products from sponsor Catherine Pooler Designs

I started off by ink blending my background with Distress Oxide Ink's in Tumbled Glass, Prize Ribbon, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot. I set the panel aside to dry while I die cut some of the other elements of my card.

Once the panel was dry I splattered some white acrylic paint over the panel to add some stars to my night time background.

TIP: I have found when splattering on Distress Oxide inks you will get a different look whether the inked background it still wet, or dry. If I want to achieve a more crisp splatter, I let my panel dry first.

The focal point of my card is Catherine Pooler Designs Paper Lantern. It was die cut from matt gold cardstock. I cut a piece of red cardstock to glue to the back of the lantern.

The sentiment it from Spellbinder's Making Me Smile. It was not foiled and cut with the coordinating dies and attached to the panel with foam tape for dimension.
