Finish it Friday #lost count!

Hello!

Thanks for popping in, it's time for Finish it Friday, except that I can't remember what week I'm on....

So, out of the little box of abandoned bits, I plucked these..

I thought the sprayed piece was too dark to stamp on, for my taste anyway, so I thought I'd just use it as a background piece, the poppies were done with gold texture paste, the apertures were left over from a class, and swirls just seem to multiply in my house!

And this is what I did, the red swirl was too big so I opted for the smaller cream one.

I resisted the urge to put some text on because I don't know what I'm gonna use it for yet.

That's it for me today, I'll be back tomorrow with a new challenge at Fantasy Stampers.

Happy Friday!

Workshop Wednesday #1

Afternoon!

As there was no Groovi Tuesday this week, we need a Workshop Wednesday instead, usually it will just be a little peek at a project I've done in a workshop, past or present, but as today is the first one we'll have a step by step...

Grab your Lapwing stamps ready and a piece of Clarity stencil card.

Using Cobalt archival ink, stamp the lapwings in place, take note of where the big fella is at the bottom, cover the birds with masks. Put a border of low tac tape around all four sides and put a moon mask in place.

Prepare your Brayer with Clover adirondack ink

Brayer the sky, then the bottom area too, leave a nice band of white through the middle though.

Using the Tangle stencil and clarity brushes, add a little texture to the bottom area only, just sweep gently in one direction from the bottom of the stencil upwards.

Remove the moon mask and replace with the aperture part instead, gently add a little weathered wood ink along one side of the moon.

Remove all masks and masking tape.

Use a marker or pencil to add shade to the birds, note, I used an alcohol marker even though I stamped with archival, I was very very careful not to touch the stamped line art with the marker or it could make it bleed and ruin my pen.

Terrible shadow on this pic, sorry!

The finished one is a bit better, but I'll never be a photographer.

Hope you like it, the class did once they got over the fear of the Brayer, funnily enough Barbara mentions fear of the Brayer on her blog today, Dave's strategy made me laugh!

Thanks for stopping by, hopefully see you Friday for another piece of bodged artwork from heartbreak corner.

Finish it Friday #11

Morning!

I'm a bit behind myself today, but I definitely wanted to make time to drag a few unloved, half finished and abandoned bits out of my box...

So I started with these bits, a spritzy mop up piece, a couple of pieces that had been part painted and stamped/stencilled.

I got excited though and started stamping the tags before I took photo.

I used Archival ink to stamp the Shepherds Purse, Butterfly and Make a Wish, all from Claritystamp.

So, nice and quick, I blended Faded Jeans distress ink around the spritzy piece, stencilled with the netting stencil from Clarity

Coloured the tags with pencil and added some string.

Done!

So what have you used up this week?

Have a great weekend, mine's a bit busy, Catterick tomorrow then Shrewsbury Sunday and race straight to Manchester to see a band!

I've joined the Fantasy Stampers DT.

Hello bloggy friends, happy Saturday to you!

I've been looking forward to telling you that I've been invited to join some lovely crafty ladies on the design team at Fantasy Stampers challenge blog, it's been a long time since I've done any challenge blog stuff for various reasons, i have missed it so I'm happy to jump back in.

The theme for the new challenge is

The colour Purple

I gently brushed Milled Lavender distress ink through my brick stencil, then stamped Shepherds Purse in Dusty Concorde ink and washed over it with a very wet small paintbrush to give a washy look. Then I splattered a little more Dusty Concorde across the card and added a sentiment.

There are some lovely inspiration cards by the other dt members over on the Fantasy Stampers blog, why not pop over and have a look.

Thanks for stopping by!

Finish it Friday #7

Good Morning!

Well it will hopefully be morning when this goes live, I'm scheduling because I'll be in the middle of a field with no Internet, but it's good to take yourself off once in a while isn't it, and I'll be with good friends and my wellies!

So, what unloved scraps have I thrown together for this week then.....

I had a dig in the abandoned Gelli print pile and found this one that I could match up with a part done butterfly montage topper that had an Anglina film butterfly on, the butterfly was very battered and old so I pulled it back off and added a plain one, just stamped in Lettuce ink to match, I decided to leave it uncoloured to stand out against all that yellowy green. So I just trimmed everything up, edged with a black inkpad, layered onto black card and added some torn parchment paper and sticky gems.

Hope you like it!

I'm going to enter this into the following challenges....

Fab and Funky Things with wings

Crafting with an attitude Anything goes

Have a lovely weekend!

Finish it Friday #2

Good Morning!

I'm not sure where that week went to, it's really flown by, it was Thursday before I knew it!

So I had a frantic dig in the box of unloved half finished projects and leftovers.

I needed something I could complete very quickly because I've had a very busy day, so I opted for an inky Gelli print from ages ago...

So all I needed to do was trim it down, stamp the flower (a new design club stamp) and the Wordchain.

Tiny bit of colouring, then brush black ink around the edges for a smoky look.

Job done!

Sorry I haven't linked products, it's actually after 10pm Thursday night and I've just got home from class, not had tea yet and I'm shattered! So just pop over to the Claritystamp website and have a look around.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend.

Pretty in Turquoise

Good Morning!

Yep I know it's Monday, but it's also a fresh new week, a blank canvas, who knows what could happen...

I'm not totally sure why I feel so optimistic today, i slept very badly with several nightmares and then was awoke by child número uno throwing up in the bathroom, too much junk food over the weekend probably!

Before I lose my optimism and go back to bed I better show you a card

This is one I did for a magazine a while ago but forgot to show you...

I'm a little envious of this lady, not just her waistline but also her clothes actually fit properly, you should have seen the pantomime in my bedroom on Friday night trying to find something nice to wear for Port Sunny, I was actually safety pinned together in the end!

The accessories are from this stamp set, which was designed for the American tv launch of Clarity, it's available worldwide though. I'm sure you'll recognise the text as one of the Wordchains.

That's all from me, I have a list of stuff to do, thanks for stopping by and have a good Monday!

Shepherd's Purse canvas

Good Afternoon!

It's been another busy day, I've been up the motorway again today, I've signed the adoption papers for Tilly so it's official now.

In among all the hustle and bustle of the last few days, I did get a little play last night, I wanted to use up a couple of offcuts etc, so this is one of the bits I made...

I had a canvas painted with base layer of Paperartsy Taupe paint and a layer of crackle glaze over the top, so it just needed finishing off. I added the top layer of a pale blue paint, can't remember which one, then when it dried all crackly I brushed some inks through my clockwork Clarity stencil.

I also had some small pieces from when I'd been walking the Brayer and stencilling on top, so I used one of those to stamp the Shepherd's Purse (drawn by Amanda Branston) in Archival ink and coloured.c

Hope you like it!

I will take it to Happy Stampers at the weekend so some of you can have a closer look.

Clarity sneak peek

Good afty to ya!

I hadn't realised the time I've been a busy girl round the house, I'm hoping to get all my jobs done so I can chill out tomorrow...

Speaking of tomorrow, you don't need me to remind you that Barbara is on Create and Craft in the morning at 9am-11am, the new stamp designs are beautiful as always, here is a sneak peek at one of my samples.

I will show you the full project tomorrow.

Right then back to housework and maybe another little walk with our new family member Tilly...

Thanks for stopping by.

Love flowers

Good Morning!

So back to normal then eh, whatever normal means.

I have been trying to find more time to blog lately, sometimes easier than others, I've tried to catch up with friends blogs too and while doing this I've spotted a couple of challenges that look fun.

So I made this...

For this challenge below...

And as luck would have it, it also fits the Craft Stamper challenge theme of lots of colour, so I'm just playing along for fun.

So all I did was make a panel card using

Jim's flowers stencil

Stencil brushes

Various distress inks

Sentiment stamp, I was a little limited because all my stamps etc are at work and I'm at home.

That's all for now, I have to pack for Ally Pally.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Easter

Good Morning!

So, you were not impressed with my Christmas card in March then lol, I could hear you groaning through my iPad screen! Don't come crying to me on Christmas Eve when you haven't finished your cards lol, remember I reminded you way back in March!

So how about an Easter card then?

Actually I'm gonna confess, I made a handful of these but I don't really send Easter cards, so my next door neighbour will get one but the rest will be converted into birthday cards etc by covering the sentiment with a little plaque.

I used....

Abstract squares claritystencil. One of my faves.

Tulip claritystencil

Clarity blending brushes

Happy Easter Claritystamp

Inks...butterscotch, stream, cranberry, lettuce.

I did a similar but different version that I'll show you on Monday....and maybe a little ol' tutorial seeing as I am having a couple of days off.

Thanks for stopping by, if you pop back tomorrow I'll have a sneak peek for the Claritystamp telly show on Sunday with Barbara.

Snowy? So is it Christmas yet....

Good afternoon!

Well apparently lots of you have snow where you are, and I've got the winter lurgy, so....Christmas card? Lol

I chose this one because I love the star stencil, we will be using it in class in May-but not for a Christmas card I promise!
I thought id leave Santa black and white because I've gone bright with the stars and banner, would you have coloured or not?
I'm going back to my steam bath and Olbas Oil, catch you soon, thanks for calling in!

Imagine

Afternoon to you!

I've been having a couple of quiet days after the NEC marathon last week, it's good to be with the team but it's great to be back home too.

Here is one of the cards I made while playing around with stencil brushes one of the days at the show...

Now it doesn't come anymore clean and simple than that does it!

I had to fight the urge to do more to it, but my cautious side won.

I used one of the Clarity Wordchain stamps and the Wee Folk fairies together with one of the large aperture Clarity stencils.

So tell me, would you have left it alone or added more to it?

Happily ever after

Good evening, I was going to blog tomorrow but I have a very full Monday, so I'll do it now while I'm in the queue for the shower-yes MY wetroom is quite popular round these parts....

So, what to show you...I nearly showed you a Christmas card, but I thought you might throw heavy objects at me, so how about a happy card instead.

You need to get quite close to see how I've done this one....

Maybe a bit closer...

Nice glow around the edges of the image? That's metallic paint, I love it on embossed projects.

The little plaque is from the fairytale castle set

The stencil is called Deer Heart, there's a dove version too.

Ok that's all, thanks for stopping by.

I'm going to stand outside the bathroom door now and drop some heavy hints that I'm waaaaaaaiting!

Sneak peek, and a sneak peek...

Good morning!

I said I'd give you a sneak peek didn't i...

Sunday 9am-11am, Barbara will be doing some splendidly superb demo's with the new lovelies on Create and Craft.

I'm confident you will LOVE this months new Claritystamps, I just wish id been able to spend more time playing with them, but I've given myself tomorrow (yes a Saturday) off work, so if I get my jobs done I will continue to play....

But before then I need to test my new wetroom...

I think we'd all fit in there-but that's not an invite!

And of course I need to choose some new accessories, they must be classy though...

Which loo seat, I can't decide...

Thanks for stopping by
