You're Special

Hi Bloggers.

Here's today's card -

For the background, I started by cutting the Spellbinders Renaissance Border One out of Icicle Pearl Card 6 times. I added 3 of them to a piece of Midnight Blue Pearl Card, setting them tip to tip. I then added 2 more into the gaps. I cut the final one into half lengthways and added it into the space left at both sides. I let the glue set and then ran it through the Spellbinders Platinum Machine with the Spellbinders Elite M-Bossabilities Folder. I matted onto another piece of Midnight Blue Pearl Card.
I popped a piece of Creative Expressions Double Sided Self Adhesive Sheet onto a piece of Coconut White Card. I cut #2 die from the Spellbinders Renaiisance Jewelled Frame from it. I removed the other backing sheet and then added CS Glacier Ice Glitter Jewels.

I stamped the sentiment from the Justrite Meadow Circles Stamp Set onto Icicle Pearl Card using Jet Black Archival. I cut it out using a die from the Spellbinders Acanthus Leaf Tags Die Set. I cut the corresponding larger die from the same set out of Midnight Blue Card. I cut the #3 die from the Spellbinders Renaissance Vine Die Set.

I tied a bow using 2 lengths of Craft Consortium White Satin Ribbon and added a Craft Consortium Vintage Pearl Charm.

I assembled the card as shown adding an 8mm White Pearl to the corners and piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.

Thanks for stopping by.

Floral Bouquet

Hi Bloggers.

Here's today's card -

This was a demo from the Takeover Weekend on Hochanda. For the background, I embossed a piece of Bright White Card using the Spellbinders Elite M-Bossabilities Folder. I matted it onto Midnight Blue Pearl Card and then onto a Bright White Card Blank.

I stamped the image from the Spellbinders Floral Bouquet Stamp/Die Set onto Bright White Card using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with CS Black Detail Embossing Powder. I coloured in using a mix of CS Mica Powders and CS Pixie Powders. I used  Graceful Lilac, Titanium and Chic Moss Mica Powders and Purple Violet, Pale Olive, Peacock Green and Sun Yellow Pixie Powders. I cut it out using the die in the set.

I  cut the largest die in the Spellbinders Renaissance Vine Die Set out of Midnight Blue Card. I cut the corner die from the Spellbinders Renaissance Tags Two Die Set out of Bright White Card twice and added them to the Midnight Blue Die Cut.

I completed the front of my card by adding a few 5mm White Pearls.

For the inside of my card, I stamped the sentiment from the Justrite Meadow Circles Stamp Set onto Bright White Card. I cut it out using die #2 from the Renaissance Vine Die Set. I cut #3 die from the set out of Midnight Blue Pearl Card and popped both die cuts on the inside of my card.

Thanks for stopping by.

SImple Sneak Peek Two-fer

Hi Bloggers.

The Creative Expressions Takeover on Hochanda continues today. I'm heading out early as I need to be at the Studios for 8am. My first show is at 10am. I've popped the complete schedule in the left-hand sidebar of this blog.

Here's the first card for you today -

I started by cutting the Spellbinders Cascading Butterflies Die out of Bright White Card. I kept the die cuts for another project. I stamped the sentiment from Phill Martin's Butterfly Elegance Stamp Set in the bottom left-hand corner using Jet Black Archival.

I glued a piece of patterned paper from Phill Martin's Frosted Essentials 8 x 8 Paper Pad which was slightly smaller than the Bright White piece, to a piece of Black Card and then onto a Bright White card blank.

I cut the Cascading Butterflies die out of the plain side of another paper from Phill Martin's Frosted Essentials 8 x 8 Paper Pad. I glued the cascading die cut into the aperture in the Bright White Card.

I embossed some of the fall away butterflies, 2 plain and 1 patterned, using the Spellbinders Paisley M-Bossabilities Folder. I shaped them and added them to my card. I also shaped a plain and a patterned butterfly that I didn't emboss and added those too.

I finished my card, adding some CS Glue around the edges and then CS Glacier Ice Glitter Jewels. I also added a little CS Glue and Glacier Ice to the bodiesof the shaped butterflies and a 5mm Black Pearl to the corners.

Here's your second card -

For the background, I embossed a piece of Bright White Card using the Spellbinders Elite M-Bossabilities Folder. I matted it onto a piece of Black Card and then onto a Bright White Card Blank.

I cut the Spellbinders Cascading Stars Die out of Bright White Card. I added Clear Perfect Medium and then CS White Gold Brilliant Sparkle Embossing Powder and heat set. I added more Perfect Medium and more powder to areas I missed and heat set again. I then randomly touched some of the points of the stars with Perfect Medium and added CS Black Mirage Brilliant Sparkle Embossing Powder and heat set.

I embossed one of the big fall away stars in the same way. I stamped the sentiment from the Justrite Meadow Circles Stamp Set onto a medium sized star using Jet Black Archival.

I finished my card by adding a Small Black Circle Dazzler to the corners.

My shows are at 10am, 1pm, 3pm and 6pm today and 3pm and 6pm on tomorrow  (with Mask Techniques). I've popped the full schedule into the left hand side bar of this blog (view web version on phones and tablets). My samples into the gallery section of this blog and on my Julia Watts Crafts Facebook Page.

I'm offering 10% discount on all the products from all of the Takeover Shows this weekend that I have on my website. They're all together here. Discount applies till midnight on Sunday or While Stocks Last and will be applied at checkout.

Takeover Sneak Peek

Hi Bloggers.

As promised, today I have a sneak peek from my Takeover Shows tomorrow -

For the background, I embossed a piece of Bright White Card with the Spellbinders Elegance M-Bossabilities Folder. I cut another piece of Bright White Card slightly larger than the piece I embossed. I ran a Clear Perfect Medium Pad around it, added CS White Gold Brilliant Sparkle Embossing Powder and heat set. I added my embossed background to it and added the pair to a Bright White Card Blank using CE Mounting Cushion.

I cut dies #2 and #3 from the Spellbinders Renaissance Jewelled Frame Die Set and double embossed them using Clear Perfect Medium and White Gold Brilliant Sparkle Embossing Powder.

I stamped the image from the Spellbinders Embroidered Flowers Stamp and Die Set onto Bright White Card using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with CS White Gold Brilliant Sparkle Embossing Powder. I cut it out using the die from the same set and added it to my card using 3D Foam.

I stamped the sentiment from Phill Martin's Butterfly Elegance Sentiments onto Bright White Card using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed using CS Gold Detail Embossing Powder. I cut it out using a die from the Spellbinders Acanthus Leaf Tags Die Set and added to my card using 3D Foam.

I finished my card by adding an 8mm White Pearl to each corner of the frame.

My shows are at 10am, 1pm, 3pm and 6pm tomorrow and 3pm and 6pm on Sunday (with Mask Techniques). I've popped the full schedule into the left hand side bar of this blog (view web version on phones and tablets). To Cheer You

Hi Bloggers.

I forgot to do the draw for Freebie Friday yesterday - sorry! That's what happens when pretty much every day is a working day - you loose track of what day it is! Anyhow, the winner of the card from Freebie Friday on July 15th is ...................................

Anne (Northampton)

Please email me at juliawattscrafts@gmail.com with your address and I'll pop your card in the post.

Here's today's card -

For the background, I ran a piece of Coconut White Card through the Spellbinders Platinum Machine with the Spellbinders VenetianM-Bossabilities Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the design. I inked around the very edges with CS Plum Cobbler Colour Cloud using a Smoothie. I wrapped a piece of Craft Consortium Lily Lace Ribbon around the background.

I cut the largest die in the Spellbinders Jewelled Frame Die Set out of Coconut White Card and inked through the die with Plum Cobbler Colour Cloud. I snipped a section out from the long side. I glued the pieces to my background and wrapped a piece of Craft Consortium White Satin Ribbon around to hide the join.

I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Petite Lavish Sentiments Stamp Set using Plum Archival. I cut it out using a die from the Spellbinders Acanthus Leaf Tags Die Set.

I tied a bow using 2 lengths of the Satin Ribbon and added a Craft Consortium Heart Cluster Charm.

I assembled the card as shown adding some Craft Consortium Pearls and piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.

With Love and some holiday pics

Hi Bloggers.

I was asked by Maria at my workshop on Saturday to share you photos from my holiday and I promised I would try to do that today so at the end of this post you'll find some pics (mostly taken by Kathryn as she's got a much better photography eye than I have).

Here's today's card -

This is an easy peasy card, just using the Spellbinders Renaissance Vine Die Set and stacking up the die cuts.  The background is Bright White Card embossed using the Spellbinders Hearts M-Bossabilities Folder.

I have alternated the die cuts with Steel Pearl Card and Bright White Card. The sentiment is from John Lockwood's Pierced Tag Sentiments, stamped using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with CS Silver Shine Detail Embossing Powder.

I've added some White Pearl Corners and pierced around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.

John Lockwood is back on Hochanda today with shows at 11am and 3pm. I'm offering the usual 10% discount on products I have on my website from the shows. You can find them here. Offer applies till midnight tonight. Discount will be applied automatically at checkout.

Are you ready? Holiday photos -

We went to Boa Vista in the Cape Verde Islands (just off the coast of Sengal in Africa). Our hotel was the Riu Karamboa literally 3 minutes bus ride from the airport which wasn't an issue as there are currently only a handful of flights each day.

Here's some pics around the hotel -

The lobby -

The maids kept the place spotless and re-arranged our nighties and towels each morning -

The pools -

We were right on the beach -

Us - in the Atlantic Ocean!
They love their cats - very tall and skinny ones -
We went on a trip to the 2 capitals - the old capital and the new, Sal Rei

The launderette in Sal Rei!

The courtyard in the oldest Guest House on Boa Vista -

We went on another trip to visit a Spanish Shipwreck (a freighter that hit a reef 48 years ago). Beautiful beach.

We also went to a couple of villages in this (struggled to get in and out of this, I can tell you!)

That's it! If you need a good rest, I can certainly recommend Boa Vista and the hotel we went to. Hope you've enjoyed the photos.

Thanks for stopping by.
