Pink, Orange & White

Hi everybody! Today I'm gonna share a card with an image of Tilda being happy.  Last week, I got my first (2) TOP #3 for my cards.  As a beginner, that's a big thing for me. And exactly a week ago today, I had the same emotion as Tilda (on this card).

I received an email from Lena, the editor of Magnolia Ink, telling me that

I won the "Make a Card for a Bridal Couple" Contest.

And I literally jumped out of bed! LOL  I was sooo excited and overwhelmed at the same time. It was my first time to enter the Magnolia Ink contest...and my card was chosen as the winner!
Beginners luck? Pretty much!

I have to admit that until now, my excitement it still at it's peak! Especially that I have not seen the Magnolia Ink CherryBlossoms & Lilacs yet.
The magazines are still on pre-order on the webshops that I go to...so until I see my card in the magazine...I'm still waiting for things to sink in!

After reading Lena's email (over and over and over  LOL), I colored a few of this same image as my coloring practice for the week.  I usually stamp an image several times and use them for practice and when I find one that I like, I set it aside for a project.

Here, I used Distress Ink Reinkers.  I've been mixing some colors to get a certain shade but so far I haven't come up with a new color combo yet.  When I do, I will share it you.

I didn't have any orange flowers so I just colored some ivory hybrid tea roses and an ivory cherry blossom from WOC with Wild Honey Distress Ink.
I also used Worn Lipstick for the white aster daisies and another cherry blossom.

The Magnolia Doohickey I used: Mini Doily, Vintage Leaves, Vintage Tag
Punches: Martha Stewart  Branch Punch, Border Heart Punch (I'm not sure of the name)

Lastly, I used some orange ribbon and twine, some orange and pink sticky gems. I also stained the edges of the paper and the doily with Vintage photo. The paper is from MME Gertie Paper.

Frog Prince

Happy Friday everyone! Time really flies! First of all, I would like to THANK YOU for all the sweet comments. You guys are such an inspiration. Big hugs to you!!!

My card for today is a Fairy Tale card. I didn't have the stamp  that says "Kiss me I'm a Prince" from Magnolia, so I just printed it from my computer, cut it, stained it and there it is!
I used Distress Ink Reinkers to color Tilda. I mixed Tattered Rose and Vontage Photo for the skin. I tried to do the colors by layering them one after another but just can't get it right.  So far, this mixture works for me (for now).

A beautiful friend

Hello! Today I'd like to share a card I made last night.  I had abdominal cramps and but it was  bearable. Usually, while I wait for the medication to kick in, I would try to divert my attention to something else and not focus on the cramps.  So what I did was, color a couple of Tilda images. I enjoyed coloring (as always) and the cramps just didn't seem to bother me at all!

Anyway, I was trying to mix up some reinkers to get a certain color for the hair.  This is the closest I got to the shade I had in mind using the color I have on hand. Hopefully when I get the other reinker colors that I ordered, I can mix and play around with the color.

Lili's Little Fairies Valentines Sketch

Hi. I finished this card last night....yes, I didn't watch the Grammy's last night...nor do I watch TV for more than 30 minutes.  I just don't have that much patience.  I'd rather sink myself in my desk and play with paper and ink.  This image is from LOTV and one my faves.  I colored 6 of this images (practiced on 5 of them LOL)  and so far this is one I finally placed on this card.

I used the following for this card:
The image is from Lili of the Valley
Distress Inks
MSE Love Me 6X6 Paper Pad
Spellbinder Dies: Circle, Scalloped Circle, Heart
Magnolia Doohickey Dies
Ribbon, charm, cheese clothe
White Cardstock
Flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts
(All the pink flowers, except for the small rose buds, I colored them by praying Tattered Rose mixed with water)

Edwin

This is my 6th post. I have not made any card for a while because I have been practicing how to color with Distress Inks.  I just love how the DTs out there color their images with Distress Inks.  I actually have colored A LOT of images (I'll post them next time) but haven't made a card with them. My aim at the moment is "getting the hang of it" when coloring with DIs. Copics is still my fave but I really have to take the Copics Class.  This summer the CHA will be held here in Chicago and I am hoping that there will be Copic Classes offered during that time. (The last CHA held in Anaheim, CA...there were classes held during that time in venues near by.) Ok, so back to my card...and here it is!

I used some WOC Hip bud Roses to cover the original rose in the image.
Distress Ink Reinkers used for the following:
Skin: Tattered Rose
Hair: Antique Linen, Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain
Shirt: Pumice Stone
Pants: Faded Jeans
Shoes: Antique Linen, Walnut Stain
Dark Areas: Walnut Stain

MME 6x6 Lost and Found Portobello Road
Kraft Paper
Jutte Ribbon
Buttons
Brown Twine

Rain or Shine

Hi. I made this card a couple days ago but I just got to post it now.  I've been busy with my son's classes (I'm homeschooling him) and I have also been practicing on my coloring. I fell in love with Copic Sketch Markers the moment I saw images colored with it.  But I also got interested in watercolor pencils and coloring with distress inks.
But for now, I'd like to share this card I made.

I paper pieced the umbrella using one of the papers in the collection.

Supplies Used:
Strathmore Watercolor Paper
Versafine Vintage Sepia
Watercolor Pencils
Unity Stamp: Rain or Shine
Dies: Spellbinder Label Die , Whimsy Ticket Die, MFT Clouds die
Memento Pen: Tuxedo Black (for the ticket edges)
Echo Park Truly Yours 6X6 pad
Distress inks pads:  Stormy Sky, Fired Brick
Spica Clear pen
dimenssionals
black pearls, ribbon and heart buttons (from my stash)
