This morning I hit the elliptical machine hard. For the past few weeks, my goal has been to burn 500 calories in 35 minutes - a little over 14 calories a minute.
I've been busting through the 500 calorie barrier pretty regularly. Including my 5 minute cool down, I could never quite hit 600 calories over the entire 40 minutes - until today.
I smashed the 600 calorie barrier - 622 today! At first I didn't even realize that I came within a breath of doing 4 miles.
Tomorrow I may be trying something new. You'll just have to wait to find out what. :-)

Wow! Hot stuff. I know someone who would have rewarded himself with a bowl of ice cream!
ReplyDeleteNo ice cream for me. Although I am a sucker for a good bowl of chocolate. Of course I also am a sucker for a good piece of cake, a doughnut, etc. LOL
DeleteWay to go, guy!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I felt great when I looked at the readout.
DeleteThat's great! I've been working back up to my 680-700 calories in an hour, and am getting close. And when I add in using Myfitnesspal.com to track the food, I think I'm making progress. Only time will tell.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work! 600+ calories is a GREAT workout!
Peace <3

I've been using MapMyFitness to record my workouts. I have MyFitnessPal as well, but haven't been using it all that much.
DeleteI just discovered your blog, and over the last few days, enjoyed reading it. You're making me think perhaps I should start one. Thanks for sharing.

Chip, I'm so glad you discovered my little corner of the internet. I try to be honest and open about what I write. Once you start, it's kind of addictive. :-)
