Some pretty flowers in our back yard

Last night we had Pete and Linda over for dinner.  Great friends, great time and great dinner.

Here are some pictures Linda took as she and Bob walked around our yard. They are beautiful pictures don't you think?

Happy end of June

I cannot believe that today is the last day of June.  I think I am very happy that June is ending as it has been a very expensive month.  The last staw was DH coming home from work on Thursday and there is something wrong with his truck. We took it to the garage on our way out to dinner but so far they have not been able to find the problem.  They hear the noise but have no idea what is causing it.

On a happier note here are some pictures from our backyard.

Datura

PlantDatura is a genus of nine species of vespertine flowering plants belonging to the family Solanaceae. They are known as angel's trumpets, sometimes sharing that name with the closely related genus Brugmansia, and commonly as daturas. Wikipedia

These Datura only bloom about dusk and have a faint
orambe smell.  They are gone by early the next morning.

This is a rose that DH has been babying for the last several
years.  We take it into ghe garage during the winter
and put it on or patio wall during the summer.

More pictures of our backyard

I hope you aren't tired of seeing pictures of my backyard.  It just seems to change so much from day to day and I think the flowers and shrubbery are so pretty.  I am also adding a picture of my Great Great nephew and niece.

Matty (almost 2) and baby sister Avery (almost 4 months)

More spring in our backyard

This is a Viburnum
It was given to us as a little sprig from
Bob's Mon.  It has been transplanted several
times and is currently behind our garage.
It smells so good as you walk past it.

Our patio.
It will eventually be surrounded by
flowers and the picnic table will be there.

Yesterday afternoon Bob saw this
flock of vultures in the sky
so he took this picture.
He said there were at least 12 of
them flying overhead

Today is our 28th wedding anniversary.  It doesn't seem possible that we have been married that long.  Somedays it seems like forever and some days it seems like yesterday.  We are going out to dinner to night to the Carriage House Restaurant.  We have not been there before so I hope it is good.

Bob will be working out in the yard today.  He took the last week off work so he could do yard work but hurt is back last Saturday so he realy hasn't gotten much done.  He did till the garden and mow the lawn but the list was much longer than that.

May Stitching Update

Happy May Day.

It is time for me to share pictures of my stitching in April.  I am not including a picture of CCN's Santa's Village as I just posted a picture of that last week.  I am looking forward to getting the next house which should be soon.

I am also posting some pictures of our backyard.  I hope I am not boring you with these pictures but our flowering trees look so beautiful.

Today it is suppose to be in the low 70s and stay that way for the next couple of days.  I just love this time of the year.  The trees are all leafing out and the sun is warm, flowers are blooming.  What is not to love.

Here are the pictures I promised you.  I hope you enjoy our back yard as much as I do.

PS Oh Christmas Tree
1st 3 days of the 12 Days of Christmas
Well I have 2 of the three days stitched

This is something I stitched in 2006
Found it in a drawer a few weeks ago
so I made it into an ornament
It is a little big for my ornament tree so I
don't know what I will do with it.

I also found this in the same drawer with January.
I stitched this in 2005.
I guess I was going to stitch each month but
January and November are all I ever stitched,
This also is to big for my ornament tree.

Now I need to get up and get some work done around this house so I can stitch this afternoon.

Until next time enjoy every minute of your life.

Ott's Mum Hill

We have a garden center down the road from us called Ott's Exotic Plants.  Every year they plant a hill full of mums and it is just beautiful.  While I have taken pictures in the past I never thought to share them with anyone.  This morning on my way back from some errands I stopped and took a lot of pictures.  Thought I would share a few.

Hummingbird, Wren, Woodpecker, and Baltimore Oriole

Just wanted to post a few pictures Bob has taken in the last couple of weeks.  We are still playing with our new camera.  Yesterday Bob took many pictures of a Baltimore Oriole in our trumpet vine.  We only see the Oriole for a few days about every other year so it is a great privilege to get some good picutures of him.  I like our new camera.

We had a wren family on our back porch and this is a picture

I finished stitching the 5th of 10 Christmas ornaments yesterday afternoon.  Today I worked on Blueladie Designs July SAL and am almost finished the stitching.  I just have to stitch the flagpole.  Maybe tomorrow after work I will start putting some of these ornaments together.  I would really like to finish up the July SAL so I can hang it on my ornament tree.

It is sohot here and is suppose to be this way through the next week.  90 and above every day.  Next Saturday the forecast is for 98.  We have been staying inside in the air conditioning.  Makes for good stitching days but I hate being shut in the house in the summertime.  Oh well I should be thankful we have A/C instead of complaining I don't like being shut in the house.  lol

OK enough of my dribble.  I just wanted to show off our birds.
