If not for You, God...

Job 38

1Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
2Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?
3Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.
4Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding
5Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it
6Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;
7When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
8Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb
9When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it,
10And brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors,
11And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed
12Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place;
13That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it
14It is turned as clay to the seal; and they stand as a garment.
15And from the wicked their light is withholden, and the high arm shall be broken.
16Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? or hast thou walked in the search of the depth
17Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?
18Hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all.
19Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof
20That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and thou shouldest know the paths to the house thereof?
21Knowest thou it, because thou wast then born? or because the number of thy days is great
22Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail
23Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?
24By what way is the light parted, which scattereth the east wind upon the earth?
25Who hath divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder;
26To cause it to rain on the earth, where no man is; on the wilderness, wherein there is no man
27To satisfy the desolate and waste ground; and to cause the bud of the tender herb to spring forth?
28Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of dew?
29Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it
30The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.
31Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?
32Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons
33Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth
34Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, that abundance of waters may cover thee?
35Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go and say unto thee, Here we are?
36Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who hath given understanding to the heart
37Who can number the clouds in wisdom? or who can stay the bottles of heaven,
38When the dust groweth into hardness, and the clods cleave fast together?
39Wilt thou hunt the prey for the lion? or fill the appetite of the young lions,
40When they couch in their dens, and abide in the covert to lie in wait?
41Who provideth for the raven his food? when his young ones cry unto God, they wander for lack of meat.

I Can Only Write...

Again.

This weird feeling has been bugging me out. And everytime this happens, I want to write. I miss blogging. I mean, I am not doing my task due tomorrow just to write something on how I feel right now. Okay that's a joke. I'll do this quick, anyway. Enough of the past now. This is about last night. When I had realized, yes -- finally, it's over. It's been really fast and that's not me. I am the type who does not know how to get over with something that disappoints me, or saddens me, or, all right, something that breaks me, or my heart perhaps. I am now experiencing a fast shift of feeling. Is it too late if I let you know about this? We only got 2 months or so. And I want to spend that little time with you, as much as I could possibly do. But, you know me as a joke. And that deplores me more than any forms of world's frustrations. Am I really funny? Do I look like a clown to you? I wish I could change the way you've been treating me. Perhaps I am not yet ready to do that, or it might be a fear of seeing myself being turned down. Either way is a lame reason.

You see, I cannot even organize my thoughts. That's why I am posting this here. You are not reading this blog, are you? But, by any chance, just in case you feel that someone is writing a blogpost for you, and you are able to sense whenever someone is thinking of you, I hope this gives you a hint of what I really feel for you. I'm SERIOUS, and NOT JOKING this time. So, I wish you give me a chance.

Would you?

Repost: TV Escapades!

My major subjects have been stressing me lately, so I had been squeezing between the last of my free schedules some quality "me and my TV" time. It just happens that sometimes, limited as the channels available here are, I end up watching really awful TV programs. Ugh!

There are various cable providers available here in my country, but sometimes there are just not enough channels. How I wish that Direct TV would have their service extended here in our country and I'm sure that their promo would be a hit. Or it can be the other way around - we move to US, in New York perhaps, and subscribe to DirectTV in New York right away. hehe. But oh, Directv also has a variety of special offers, not to mention the various channels they can put into your TV itineraries! LOL!

Anyway, if that could not be possible, I think I should find another way of setting off my stress. Hmmm...what about videoke? Who wants to join me? Raise your hand! :D

Hindi ko sinagot ang tawag mo...

Yeah. I intended to do that.
I should have pressed that faded button.
But I was afraid of finding myself stuttering.
And I do not like conversing with you that way.
Besides, I do not know what to say.
So sorry.

See You Soon Batanes!

Wuhoo! I won a free trip to any of South East Asian Airlines (SEAIR) Desitnation: Coron, Batanes, or Boracay. Can't believe that I won their contest at facebook! I won a free trip for two, pero wala pa akong isasama. Anyone, interested? LOL.

Among the destinations, I choose BATANES! Here, enjoy the place by seeing these photos:

I'll have to try a trike and jeepney ride there :DD

And do this cartwheel. LOL.

What also amaze me about the place are these animals which seem to be so tamed.

I wonder what happened to these houses. Hmm, I'm gonna find out soon.

And of course, one of my main reasons why I want to go to Batanes -- the lighthouse, that is.

I really got to see this breath taking view. See you soon.

And what about this sunset? I'm sure this photo will convince you to go with me :D

Gotta Really Love Math

Last week, I had my first job interview. I mean a 'real job interview'. Because my first interviews were when I was applying for a part time job, class mock interview, and mock interview conducted by one of the organizations in UP College of Eng'g. And unexpected as it was, I think I did not perform well. What I clearly remembered was when the interviewer asked me what my least favorite subject is, or in my case, was.

So guess what? Actually it's one of the hardest questions for me to answer. It even took me a bit longer to answer the question. Well, actually, it is easy to say any subjects, but what took me was that I was thinking on how I can defend my answer. After 5 seconds of thinking, I realized that it should not be taking me that long, so I answered...math! LOL. A very cliche answer.

Up until now, I haven't received any updates from that company and I know I was rejected. Haha. If only I got to defend all my answers clearly, I think they probably calling me now already. But, the heck! I even told the interviewer that I did not perform well in that subject. It's like I was saying them that..hey, I am not good in math, do not hire me! LOL. Yeah, considering that they are from IT Company. Yeah, boy, what a bad move. Well, at least I learned. If only I knew this Online tutoring and Math Help, I would have given a better answer to my interviewer. Oh, man, I should have tried this online Algebra Tutoring and Algebra Help before. Try it people! Who knows you'll be answering the same question as well. So better be ready. Hehe.

On Crowd Control

Hmm, February is fast approaching! And when it's February, every UP student is excited. Excited to experience another week-long concert, bazaare, and fun in what we call UP FAIR. Wuhoo! I, for one and for sure, will be attending this event since it would be my last fair as undergraduate student (crossing fingers).

Last year's fair had not been 'fair' for some people who attended it though. In the 5th day of the event, 'people' who were restricted to enter the event created a riot, to the point that they destroyed the fence around the venue. Hmm, but I do not mean that the crowd control capability and strategy of the organizers was not enough and effective. These 'people' I am talking about were really burning with rage for the reason that they were not allowed to enter the event. Well, I can say that the organizers' reason(s) for not letting them in were very valid and these 'people' had no reasonable reasons to act that way. How can the organizers allow them to enter if some of them did not have ticket as the main pass in the first place. Some were really dressed up like they're going to do something bad inside. They are type of 'people' who will give you a suspicious look as if they want to eat you up. They give you this look as if they want to beat you up if you're a guy, or give you a malicious look if you're a woman. I said that the fair is 'unfair' for some people because they have to suffer from physical injury and hospitalization because of the trouble brought by these 'people'.

These 'people' just don't understand what stanchions and barricades are! Hmm, hear me out 'people'...these are for crowd control! If you guys encounter these things again, for your mother's sake, please do read it as 'discipline'! As for my suggestion to the organizers, setting up a velvet rope might help. At least it will give them a sort of ooops-I-do-not-want-to-break-that-beautiful-barricade thinking. Haha.

Yet Another Typical Post

I feel sad now because I still am not able to post my new year post. REAL new year post. Because I am now bombarded with blog tasks as well as my academics is starting to consume all my time and is now compelling me.

----

Anyway, I am starting to feel the fast shift of cold to hot weather. I remember some few years ago, the cold weather here in the Philippines starts from late November to early February. But now, ugh, it's just a week or so after the cold christmas season and it feels like summer already. Uhm, did I mention fast shift? Well, climate change, that is. Okay, I won't go into details about this technical stuff. Though I might some other time. :)

In countries like Philippines, you're fortunate enough if you have your house or room air-conditioned. But then, some are just contented in having electric fans. Aside from the energy savings, it also has decorative purpose when we're talking about Ceiling fans. You'll understand more if you're going to check Hansen Wholesale Ceiling Fans. They all have it for you, from simple to state-of-the-art types of Ceiling fans. What I also want from Hansen Wholesale is that they give a detailed yet very comprehensive answers to frequently-asked questions (FAQ) -- from sizing to energy saving, to maintenance, and all that what-you-need-to-know about ceiling fans. As for the choices, hmm, they have subcategorized the most unique types of ceiling fans into various Ceiling fan themes. They really got it all for you (LOL. Sounds like a theme song of a mall huh).

I Want To Start The Year Right!

Wuhoo! The title has no connection to the post at all. That is just what's on my mind while I am opening my inbox and gotcha! I have a new task right at this moment, in the middle of new year celebration. Thank you! You know who you are. Don't worry I'm not disclosing your identity here.

----

So. Where do I start? Hmm, if anyone of you is in need of new garage door, whether residential garage door or whatever that is, you'll be on right choice with Sam's Club. You can choose from their wide variety of garage doors and garage door replacements. Let alone their relatively cheap price, I for sure recommend Sam's Club. :)

Well, for this new year, let us not close doors for all the blessing that God will be pouring. (What?! Haha. Never mind )

Stopping and Looking Back: A Tribute To Rizal

Sometimes we need to stop and look back to appreciate things...

------

Honestly, I've been waiting for this day to come that I will be able to post the essay I made in a course about Rizal's life and works (Philippine Institutions 100, PI100) that I took up in the University of the Philippines. The essay is about the things I learned in the course, about the field trip as our last requirement, and about myself as being a Filipino. I've been waiting for this day because I like to share it to my fellow Filipinos. I want to inspire other Filipino youth that even through this little way I can show that I care. I care about the Philippines, and that instill to every reader's mind that every Filipino should (also) be.

The article is quite long, but I do hope that you take time to read it. Thank you!

Here's the essay:

My PI100 Experience

Because it is a general truth, I appreciate Jose Rizal as our National Hero. This is what our history says and it is what many others believe in. However, the appreciation is limited to the aforementioned reason alone. It does not extend to the point of having a firm conviction regarding that fact. This can be blamed to my finite knowledge about Rizal’s contributions to the country’s independence. Though among our considered 'heroes', Rizal’s works are the most familiar with me, I barely know the reasons, the real reasons, why the people who declared Rizal as our national hero did it so. Ergo, one of my objectives, if it is not the ultimate, in taking up PI100 course is to learn more of Rizal’s works and through these, appreciate him more as the country’s national hero. And sure, I learned a lot about his works and him as an individual and as a Filipino. I have known that among the people who fought for our independence during the Spanish regime, Rizal’s plans and principles, idealistic as they were, were the most beneficial to the Filipinos and to the Philippines as a whole. I agree with him that Filipinos during that time needed to learn all the necessary ways and right education to equip the country as an independent nation. And Filipinos should utilize each talent and competence in every aspect of building and running a nation.

Considering also that we did not consume all the supposed meetings in the semester, I can say that the days we had our discussions were enough to inculcate in me, and I believe in my classmates as well, all the necessary facts about Rizal -- facts that would make us accept him as the most premiere hero of the country, and eventually value these facts not only during our entire stay in the university but also after college life. And for as long as we consider ourselves as Filipinos, that values should abide in us.

The course also awakened the spirit of nationalism in me. I think it’s inseparable and inevitable. Once we study the works of our heroes who fought for our country, sympathy to their cry follows, unless we don’t appreciate what we are learning, and that we are taking up the course for the sake of requirements completion. But as for me, PI100 tapped my being to become more concerned to our country, that as a student in UP, I can utilize the trainings and knowledge I got to render whatever help our country needs, as well as to provide as much assistance as possible as being one of the individuals who are capable of doing so. Trite as it was, the saying “Kung hindi tayo, sino pa ang kikilos?” turned out to be a very sensible statement to me. And for that reason, as I graduate, if I won’t be able to find a position in any government industries and agencies, my priority would be the locally-owned companies in finding a job that suits my ability. As for the immediate effect brought about by taking up the subject is that I realized as a Filipino who got trained in one of the premiere universities in the country, it would be better (whenever this opportunity comes) to initiate in running for a position in any government office without having any personal interests but driven by pure service alone. It seems that there is an urge in me to involve myself in politics and to become stoic no more towards what’s happening in the country.

I also learned that it’s time for us, Filipinos, to change our way of thinking. It is important to retain and value our old traditions but not to linger in it for the rest of our lives. We should move on and adapt in the changes the world has undergone. We should set our mind that we are superiors that we are able to parallelize with the other countries in terms of governance, economy, education, etc.

As an individual, PI100 became a self-development course for me too. I became more assertive and more critical. The course stimulates me to see things beyond the usual, as if it requires me to think differently. The subject taught me also to become less ambitious. I don’t know if this makes me better but this actually enables me to maximize what I have as of the moment. As an analogy, I take our field trip as an example. At first, I dreamt of going to a place, a historic place that is not the usual itineraries during field trips. Just any places as long as not in nearby places like Manila. But ignorant as I was, I was not able to realize that there are places in Manila that I still haven’t gone to. It reflected my dream of going abroad after graduation when I haven’t even tried to see what the Philippines has to offer. It also mirrored my ambition to have a trip to world’s beautiful places when I still haven’t attempted to explore the wonders of the Philippines. Well, now I know.

So there I was, as my classmates and I roam around Manila, I realize that in Manila alone, I can learn many facts about the Philippines and in fact the whole Philippines itself. I learned its history just by visiting the National Museum. I have known about its rich culture in Ayala Museum. I was able to appreciate what the Filipinos had gone through during the World War II in American Manila Cemetery. I saw in San Agustin Museum the struggles of Filipinos during the Spanish regime. I learned about the Philippine economy just by roaming around Manila, with the assumption, of course, that it is the richest (or at least, one of the richest cities) in the country. There are also ambiences in Manila that reflect the negative side of the country like the squatters’ area, the undisciplined drivers of jeepneys and buses, the polluted roads and bay, the traffic, etc. And that made me deduce how the country should be improved to have it appreciated by every eye that sees it, whether it be a Filipino or a foreigner. Or at least at my perspective.

Nevertheless, the ferry ride in Manila Bay was able to tell me -- This is your home. Live in it and love it.

And that sums up my PI100 experience.

Can somebody send me a snail mail?

When this was posted by my friend on her facebook's profile page, I realized that it's really been a while since I opened my mailbox. Hmm, who would send you one if every household now has a computer and internet? Everyday, I receive 20 emails in average, and yet for my wall mount mailbox it takes a month or two before it gets something inside in it, and mostly just bills!

My friend added, it'll be sweet if she received one...and yeah, I thought that it really is -- opening mail boxes and surprised by a hand written letter from a friend or from whoever special person. Uhm, don't you think so? Haha. Cheesy.

And if you have these kinds of mailboxes, well, someone must really send you a snail mail! :)

I Love Math. Do You?

Hmm, it's not like it's my favorite subject, but being an engineering student, I can't help but to love this, if not the most, well one of the most hated subjects. If you're an engineering student, I know you guys would agree with me, would not you?

But if you're one of the types who condemn math and you wish to pursue any course that includes this subject in its curriculum, uhm, well go fast and pray. Haha, kidding. Anyway, why not try this online math tutoring. Being one of the leading online tutoring program, I'm sure Tutorvista has employed the best online math tutor in the world. So, for those of you who need math help and willing to spend a couple of bucks, go and sign up to Tutorvista's online math help.

You can also try their free online math tutoring, if you are a first time subscriber. I don't know if this free online math help works 24/7 though. But for sure, all the paid subscribers can access the service 24/7. :)

Repost: On Cars

The thought of having my own car has been bugging me out for about a month or so. And unrealistic --as of now-- as it is, I am actually having a sense of indulgence from that (day)dream! But, do I know how to drive professionally yet? Well, I don't (yet)! hehe! I'm learning though. I've been practising since last two months whenever I had the time. In fact, I got a student license already, which is a fact that both depresses and delights me. It was depressing because my younger brother had his non-pro license already, and it somewhat makes me a bit envious! I'm pretty much satisfied to have a student permit though.

So, will a Lamborghini compensate my deluded mind? Of course, nah! Because the appropriate term is overcompensate! Hehe. But seriously, if I am capable of buying a car now, I prefer Chevy. Driving a chevy camaro could yet make me happy next to having a Lamborghini. Haha! I want a cool yellow or an awesome black camaro now! Can anyone buy that one for me? Please?! :D I'm drooling now. Most especially by seeing these
dodge viper photos. WTH!

Oh well,
honda accord could as well settle me down from my lavish delusional thought! And what about this new toyota corolla specs and kia forte specs? Ugh! I am now confused! What to do? Hahai, as if I can have one now! LOL!
