De Havilland Mosquito

Conditions weren't ideal at the Woodford Air Show in June 1995, the largely overcast day not being ideal for photographing the air displays, but not too bad for the static displays.

Sukhoi Su-17M3

This was one of the static display aircraft at the Royal Air Force Association's Woodford Airshow in June 1994.
It's a Russian Sukhoi Su-17M3
The aircraft had a lengthy period of service, first with the Soviet Union then Russia, and was in production from 1969 to 1990. It also saw service with a variety of Eastern Bloc and Arab air forces.

Sukhoi SU-27

The RAFA Woodford Airshow on 24 June 1995 included a display by a pair of Russian Sukhoi SU-27 'Flanker' fighter aircraft. Unfortunately the low cloud ceiling didn't allow us to see the full extent of their aerobatic agility, but it was nevertheless a memorable experience. Here are the photographs I took on that occasion:
The timetable in the programme of the event says:
'1405 Sukhoi SU27s arrive from St Athan'

The timetable says:
'1735        Russian Test Pilots        The fabulous Flankers in action'

RAFA Woodford Air Show 24 June 1995

One of the display teams at the 1995 Woodford Air Show was the French Patrouille Ecco team, according to the programme of the event 'France's premier civil display team'. Here's three photographs of their display. According to the Wikipedia entry they are Swiss-built Pilatus PC-7 aircraft.

Woodford Aerodrome

Woodford Aerodrome, famous for its association with the Avro Lancaster, Avro Vulcan, Hawker Siddeley Nimrod and other aircraft, closed as an active airfield in August 2011 and was sold for redevelopment in December of that year. I recently came across some photographs I took at the RAFA Woodford airshow in 1995 and five of the photographs are shown below. The three aircraft took part in a display entitled 'Korean War Dogfight' and are a North American P-51 Mustang, a MiG 15 and a North American F-86 Sabre.
