Random Thoughts and Happenings

I thought this was the funniest thing to see when I looked out the window the other day. Sorry it's a bad picture, I was having issues working the flash and by the time I figured it out, the birds knew I was watching them and they took off. But here they are just swimming in our little pond in the back yard. The male was taking a leisurely bath while the lady stood watch for him. What a good little duck. They were just hanging out while it was hailing/sleeting outside. Great time for a swim.
Now this is a great picture. Here we've got Andrew ready to go on a scout camp out. What a stud in his camping gear. The boys all came over and made sandwiches and then took a mile hike, probably looked more like a parade, through the neighborhood and slept at a park for a scout "camporee", I think it was called. He froze under the stars and woke up with frost on his sleepingbag. Then, in honor of Earth Day, their service project was to plant trees. Way to go Boy Scouts of America. I salute you!

I just read your comment on our blog. My school is only for 6 weeks in the summer and Ryan's is in the fall and winter. So we will have to move every summer, but we don't have to go to school at the same time which is really nice. I actually found out that we will be 2 hourse from you guys! Party in VA. We want to see you guys after we both get settled there. Congrats on making it to dental school. That's awesome.

Way to go Andrew. That sounds like about the last thing I'd want to do, so way to go boy scouts.

fun post! yeah, I went to real estate school last summer while I was prego, so that I could make some money after Maddux came. So far...no money made! SAD!!! I'm working on it though! :)

That is so cute about the ducks. At least ducks are nice and quiet. We used to live in a place that Canadian Geese liked to come to. They would land on the roof, and it would scare us, because it sounded like a person was up there stomping around. And they made a ton of noise at the first sign of daylight, so it was hard to sleep in. :) I bet you're glad you didn't have to go on the "camporee." Sounds like they had fun though.

Way to go, Andrew! I love camping, but not when it's cold! That pic of the ducks is great. How fun to have a pond in your backyard!
