I know an old lady who swallowed a fly

Wait, that old lady was me the last 2 days. I love the trail I run on, but so do the bugs these days! I have had bugs in every orifice on my face. I've gotten bugs in my eyes, up my nose, and worst in my throat (I inhaled it and couldn't get it out). It puts a real hitch in my giddy up. I basically have to run with my eyes closed, head down, and breath carefully out of the side of my mouth in certain spots of my runs. Stupid gnats, go away and fly into the creek or something more productive. The creek likes you much more than I do (wink, wink).
Total change of subject. I teach the sunbeams at church (3-4 year olds) and they are the cutest kids. i love this age. I have 1 little boy who has a bit of a crayon eating problem. He will eat the very tip off of every crayon he uses. I asked him why he did that and he simply says, "Because I'm still hungry" (Note: I had just given them cookies to eat). We had a little chat and I explained that not only is it icky, but it ruins the crayons and nobody can color with it after the top has been removed. He was actually quite receptive and promised he would not eat them anymore. He was very good for about 2 months and then on Sunday, he caved! He comes up to me to put his crayon away and says, "Teacher, someone ate my crayon". I look at him at see all these little blue, waxy fragments in his mouth and on his lips. I told him, "It looks like that someone is you". He kept denying it, and I told him I could see it in his mouth. It was so funny! I love that kid. What a sneaky little guy.

Random Thoughts and Happenings

I thought this was the funniest thing to see when I looked out the window the other day. Sorry it's a bad picture, I was having issues working the flash and by the time I figured it out, the birds knew I was watching them and they took off. But here they are just swimming in our little pond in the back yard. The male was taking a leisurely bath while the lady stood watch for him. What a good little duck. They were just hanging out while it was hailing/sleeting outside. Great time for a swim.
Now this is a great picture. Here we've got Andrew ready to go on a scout camp out. What a stud in his camping gear. The boys all came over and made sandwiches and then took a mile hike, probably looked more like a parade, through the neighborhood and slept at a park for a scout "camporee", I think it was called. He froze under the stars and woke up with frost on his sleepingbag. Then, in honor of Earth Day, their service project was to plant trees. Way to go Boy Scouts of America. I salute you!

Wedding Weekend!

Sarah Layton has gone and done it! She got married and we are so happy for her! In college, Sarah was one of my very best roommates, and friends. I only lived with her for 1 year, but it was our best year at BYU. There were 4 of us that lived together; Sarah, Kelly, Natalie, and me. We are all a little cooky, but that's why we had so much fun together. We're like the Fab 4. We did a famous 80's dance to "Maniac" at a ward talent show. We had the best way of taking the trash out-open our 2nd story window and throw the trash bag across the way to the neighboring apartments' dumpster. It was successful, most of the time. And who can forget Kelly's infamous Copa Cabana performance. Let's just say, we were something else. With missions, marriages, and moving away, the 4 of us have not all been together for years until this blessed day that Sarah and Dave got married. Kelly and Natalie, thanks for flying in for the occasion, it was a great weekend. I miss having my girlfriends live in the same state that I do. (Thank you to Kelly for giving me all her pictures, my camera wasn't cooperating once again)Sarah and Dave, so cute are they!

Look at the purdy flowers! I love springtime!

My Little Farmers

We were so excited for the great weather yesterday. It was some much needed sunshine. Andrew decided it was time to plant the garden. Andrew, Stewart, and I picked out our seeds, mulch, and fertilizer. The boys did a great job of preparing the soil and got everything ready. It was some tough manual labor. I got the easy jobs of raking wood chips and leaves. I'm okay with that, no complaints. We only planted the carrots and peas, everything else has to wait a few weeks. We are like excited little kids who were given a Dixie cup with a little plant in it to take care of. This is how we feel about our garden. We can't wait to see it grow. We'll see if we still like it when it's time to weed.

Time for another Tag!!

Here's a couple of random photos to prove that we are still alive and kickin'.
Me and my cute nephew, Tyler (Kim and Nate's baby)
Andrew and Stewart on Easter Sunday. Aren't they cute brothers?

I know you are all sick of seeing that nasty, sweaty picture of me. I'm a little behind on blogging and I'll give you the quick version of my excuse. Well, A, Nothing super interesting has happened, but I could probably think of some random thoughts like I normally do, but the biggest reason, B, is XBox Live. Have I ever told you that I hate video games, besides Guitar Hero and the Wii sports games, well I do. And XBox Live makes me hate them even more because it involves the use of the computer modem, which means no internet access for me when XBox Live is in use. I think video games are the biggest waste of time. I know the internet can be too. Here's my rationalization, blogging keeps me in touch with REAL people. It's my way of keeping in touch with friends and family members that live far away, or that I don't get to see very often. Now, don't worry, my husband is not on it that much. But with the combo of he and his little bro, Stewart (they use it for their brotherly bonding time) and all of us being gone during the day, the demand for the modem comes at the same time in the evenings when we all want to unwind for a bit. So, it's official, I hate XBox Live. I know, I said this was the short version of my story, I guess I got carried away. But I did get tagged and that gives me a little something more to blog about.

What was I doing ten years ago?

10 years ago I was so stoked to be driving and dating. I pretty much lived for stake dances (guys, they were cool in Minnesota. I promise). I was running track and enjoying my 2nd year of high school as a sophomore. I was also watching Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Wayne's World, and Dumb and Dumber about every week.

2. 5 things to do today?

Watch General Conference, go to Midway with the fam, eat food, go on a walk with my husband, blog. Not a bad day, eh?

3. What snacks do I enjoy?

Chocolate chip cookies and milk, apples, string cheese, goldfish, and fruit roll-ups.

4. What would I do if I were suddenly a billionaire?

I would do a lot of traveling, go back to school and take all sorts of classes, ok, so I would go on a major shopping spree and get lots of cute clothes, donate to some charities, invest some of the money, set up mutual funds for my future children, buy a modest house and get it decorated.

5. 3 bad habits-

-I have a picking fetish. I like things that are smooth, so I have to pick scabs, facial blemishes aka zits, and dead skin off. It's gross, I know. That's why it's a bad habit.

-I hate having dry skin and so I use lotion obsessively, just ask Andrew or my dad, they'll vouch for how crazy I am about it.

-I always think I know what people are going to say and sometimes I jump in and try to finish their sentences, and a lot of times I am wrong. That's really annoying, huh. I'm trying to stop!!

6. 5 jobs I've had-
Temp Worker
OC Tanner Receptionist
Cosmo's Grill
Sprint
Backman Title

5 things people don't know about me-
I broke my femur, the strongest bone in the human body, when I was 3 years old.
I love dolphins, they are so beautiful and graceful that it has brought tears to my eyes
I can't burp, my throat gurgles to get the bubbles out or I get 1 weird manly hiccup
I took clogging for 2 semsters at BYU and my feet have never been happier.
I wish I could fly, jumping on a trampoline is a close as I can get to that, so I enjoy a good bounce.
