Bead Table Wednesday: Trendy Pineapples

I'm taking a workshop on pattern design and every two weeks we get a trend report. This week's report included tropical inspirations and I have to say pineapples struck my fancy! At first I was like, pineapples? Really? But then I did a little pinning and I was like, heck yeah - what else BUT pineapples? So I will get to the watercolors this weekend but the clay was begging to be transformed into pineapples. So of course, I listened to my crazy, sometimes off-her rocker muse and made some pineapple beads. And then I made this bracelet for myself because I seriously am in love with pineapples now!

Pineapple Express

See, you were scared weren't you? Pineapples. Yep, pineapples. Love the artsy hand-drawn on on the t-shirt. And pineapples paired up with stripes - yeah, that's the ticket for me! I love it. (Click on the little icons above for links to each item.)

You can find the instructions for the bracelet here. For the accent beads I used one of my wobbles, bead caps from Gardanne, Green Girl Studios and Vintaj along with Czech glass.

I only made two extras of these, so if the pineapples grabbed your attention too head on over to my Etsy shop and start singing,
"If you love pina coladas and gettin' caught in the rain..."

I made a few tiny charms for earrings, thinking I need to a pendant now too. These would be so stinkin' cute with my beach house bead. Am I right? In case you are wondering that's my pineapple sketch in the background.

And of course, I had to make matching disk beads! These can all be found in my Etsy shop.

Bead Table Wednesday

So this is how I started my morning: working on a few pendants to take with those bracelets from yesterday down to my local art center.

They teach yoga classes there and I have these lovely zen-inspired word beads that I made earlier this summer. I'm hoping these speak to those ladies who are there each week to unwind.

I had the pendants at Bead & Button, but just added them to my Etsy shop today.  Maybe you'd like to make necklace that speaks to you!

BTW: Bead & Button Loot

What's on my bead table today? Why goodies from Bead & Button, of course!

My art bead stash includes: Marsha Neal, Julie Miller, Lisa Peters, Golem, Tesori Trovati, Pumpkin Hill Glass, Diane Hawkey, Andrew Thornton, Green Girl Studios, Firefly Design Studio, Gardanne, Thornberg Beads, Kim Fields and Julie Nordine.

Add in some Humblebeads for maximum inspiration impact!

One of my new show favs - the very sweet and talented Anne from Gardanne Beads. Perfect Humblebeads color combo!

I didn't pick up much beyond art beads. Of course, now I wish I had!

And I just jumped right in making stuff! I couldn't help myself - I was so inspired by all these goodies.

I'm addicted to stacking beads into these sweet totem style necklaces.

Whipped these up Saturday morning before the show.

Bead & Button is always so much fun. I love hanging out with my beady tribe in person. And most of all I love spending the weekend with my two cheerleaders, booth assistants, personal shoppers and all around best bead bud on the planet Erin Prais-Hintz and my auntie Rosanne. Thank you to everyone that stopped by and said hello. I loved visiting with each of you!

The booth and new goodies from Humblebeads.

I hope to list the new beads before the end of the week.

And up next? Oh let's all head to Philly for Bead Fest in a few months! I will be there in the artisan area and I can not wait!!!

Bead Table Wednesday - Bead & Button Show Prep

We are making beads like maniacs over here.  Today we whipped up more Blooms & Birds sets because they are adorable, cheerful and full of fun colors and what's not to love about that?  I'm working on some little totem sets with a trio of tiny birds and a feather pendant.  Too cute - can't wait to show you.

Booth 1212, mark it down and make your plans to visit me with at Bead & Button.  I'll be sharing a preview over the next week or so as we finish stock piling inventory.  I love to see my piles of beads grow this time of year!

So it's Wednesday already - and that means it's time to share what's on your bead table.  Share a link in the comments below or use #BeadTableWednesday on Instragram.

Bead Table Wednesday

So these are on my bead table today. I've been whipping up round beads and bird mixes getting ready for Bead & Button. This weekend and next are my big production weekends.  We are going to make hundreds of beads with the help of a few artistic family members. My goal is to not go cray-cray in the next few weeks.  Wish me luck!

Are you planning to go to Bead & Button this year?  Make plans to visit me at booth 1212!

All week I've been mixing up a fun color palette in the morning like this one and turning them into bead sets. It's been a very relaxing and almost a zen-like creative exercise.

If you'd like to learn my color tricks and how to make your own beads check out the details for my upcoming workshop.  The early bird deadline is tomorrow!

Bead Table Wednesday

Today on my bead table? A growing stack of these little fellows.  Adorable aren't they?  They have been made to go with goodies like these:

I've been enjoying taking Pinterest vacations to India lately.  The colors of the powders at the markets, the patterns and textures of the printed and embroidered fabric, the colors and details of the buildings - it's enough to make a girl swoon.

Let's travel together for a minute:
I'm committing a blogging faux pas because I'm just going to say: click here to see more details on each photo.  Many of them were pinned without attributing their original source from other pinners and I was just collecting them for inspiration. Please forgive me photographers and blog readers.

Bead Table Wednesday

Hello and welcome to Bead Table Wednesday! Today on my table are wishes and dreams because I have no time for making jewelry right now and I would really like too. But I am feverishly filling orders and very busy with deadlines this week. But a girl can dream! I picked up these Czech glass beads at a store I visited in Florida while on the Bead Cruise.  They have just been calling me to play, soon beadies, soon!.

I have a few new colorways for my Feather series. These are very summery and some will be heading off to Ornamentea very soon along with lots of other goodies for a Humblebeads Trunk Show. I'll share more details about dates when they have safely arrived at the store.

Another thing I've been playing with that will be making it's way into my shop in different colors are new shapes for my Branch Disk beads.  My Branch beads are by far one of my most popular designs and I thought it was time to branch out into different shapes. Ha, I'm puny.  So in my Etsy shop I have tiny rounds and these fun wafer disks.

And the other new shape that I have been playing with is square disk beads. These would be awesome for earrings and also they would look great as spacers.

Here you can get a better view of the shape of the square beads.

So this is what's on my Bead Table today.  If you'd like them to be on your Bead Table next week, check out the new beads in my Etsy shop.  You know, just trying to be helpful.

What is Bead Table Wednesday? It's a day to connect with other bead and jewelry artists around the world to share the good, the bad (as in awesome) and the ugly - hey I know what your bead table really looks like because mine looks the same!
