green

green, green is the word over at words to shoot by, a little photographic collaboration I contribute to.


green is a good word for right now. green is everywhere. especially here in the great pacific northwest. what struck me most when we first moved here five years ago was just how deeply green everything was, is. lush carpets of moss cover a wild variety of surfaces here-- slabs of sidewalk, tree branches (sometimes entire trees), rooftops and the occasional abandoned car. we are covered in carpets of tactile green and I have grown to love it.

so 'roid week wrapped up on friday and it was one for the books, folks. and today I'm over at words to shoot by where the word (appropriately enough) is instant.

it's officially here, that season I love so much. the one I yammer on and on about. word on the street is that summer has been canceled for portland but we do not speak of this. not at our house, anyway.

if I haven't said it already

it's a blank piece of paper, 2010. a new box of crayons, a jar full of sharpened pencils. at this point, you can do pretty much anything you want. it's a brand new year, peeps. and it's for the taking. 2010= fresh.
