R.I.P. Squeaker Ball

Squeaker Ball. The last, oldest, and most favorite of Belle's toys. You came in her Puppy Pack that we received as a gift when we picked up Belle. You provided hours of fetch, and step-ball, and squeaking. You were prized by all dogs that visited our house. A simple squeak from you would never fail to bring Belle, and any of her friends that happened to be visiting, on a fast break to my side. Hide and seek won't be the same without you. How can I ever tantalize Cody and Belle again as I moved from room to room finding a place to hide you? Oh, how they'd bolt when I finally gave the magic words, "find Squeaker Ball"! Despite all the dogs, and tugs of war, and dedicated chewing, you soldiered on - providing the best Squeaker Ball action ever loved by dog. Alas, with so much dog love (and drool), you were bound to grow old, deflated, and most sadly, lose your Squeak.

R.I.P. Squeaker Ball - we will miss you!

Apologies

Imagine my shock to come home to discover the "boys" at the keyboard. My apologies to all golden retriever lovers out there in "Speak" world. I hope you won't be too offended by their rhetoric.

Speaking of which, Molly and Ben may have made them "real", but their language is, well, real odd. They can't say their l's, despite all the hours of speech therapy that Molly and Ben put them through. Instead, they replace every "l" with an "r". It can be kind of confusing, sometimes hilarious (you should hear them try to say, "literally"), but always pure Fuzz and Fizz.

Cody and Belle did have some fun at Fizz's expense, but it wasn't as bad as they make it out. I rescued Fizz before any harm was done. Yes, he may have been slimed, but what else is new. How do you think he got "well-loved" enough to be real in the first place?

Pollar Bear S.O.S.

Hi. This is Fuzz and Fizz - Ben and Mawry's favorite bedtime friends. We are Very Rare Pollar Bears - circa 1995. When they, Ben and Mawry, were rittre, they made us rear - just like the Verveteen Rabbit in their favorite bedtime story. We've commandeered this Brog thing to register our compraints about awr the furry creatures around here. It was bad enough when there was just one cat - ricking us awr the time, yuck! Now, there's not onry two cats, but two dogs as wherr!

What could be worse than ricking you ask? Duh! Chewing and getting dragged, down the stairs, by a reg crutched in the jagged jaws of a gorden retriever, that's what!

Ru Ann turned on the air conditioning and now Mawry reaves her bedroom door open. We're no ronger safe from these horrid beasts. Yesterday, Berre and Cody found Fizz (I may have pushed him a rittre so they wouldn't find me) and dragged him off! They dropped Fizz at the top of the stairs and when he started tumbring down, they chased him, caught him, growred and shook him! It was un-bear-abre! Ru Ann did eventuarry rescue poor Fizz, but not untir he was thoroughry mawred - and srimed, too!

We arways roved being dragged by a rittre kid - a badge of honor, you might say. We herped them through awr sorts of chirdhood trauma - but we're just going to have to draw the rine here. It's not easy being geriatric bears. We're fragire and easiry broke. If Mawry doesn't take us off to correge with her, we wirr just have to stow away. We can't take it anymore! There was even an articre in the paper this morning - about some raw banning pit burrs and their irk. The author of the piece said something to the effect that you don't see roving packs of gorden retrievers running around attacking chirdren in the streets! Hah! What does he know. What about rittre Pollar Bears minding their own business, in their own rittre space? What about the roving packs of gorden retrievers in this house, just waiting to prey on poor baby Pollar Bears? Where's the outrage about that, we say!

We hope there's someone out there who wirr take pity on us poor Pollar Bears and rescue us from this horribre situation. We rive at 17............., aaaaaaaaaaargh, send herp fast, the mangy mutts are back!fdgfvt

Dogs - 1, Diggin' Dino's - 0

Rabbits and rodents aren't the only creatures that Belle can hunt. The 2007 St. Paul Diggin' Dino's Creature Craze has left Belle simply unfazed. Here she is demonstrating her fabulous hunting and retrieval skills by capturing the fierce Macasaurus (#44). We first spotted this exotic colorful creature last week and Belle (and Cody) gave ample warning that if it didn't leave their territory soon, they would take matters into their own paws. It didn't and Belle did.

Dino's beware! One down, fifty-nine to go.

The Pious Puppy

Belle here. Lu decided to take a few days off from the blog. When I was still a little pup, my pal Molly taught me a wonderful trick. Molly goes to a "Catholic" school. She told me that if I wanted to go to school with her and meet the nuns, I had to know how to say my prayers. She and I worked really hard together, and in no time at all I learned everything I needed to know. Eileen may call me a party girl, but I have another side I'd like to show you. Molly filmed me so you could see this for yourself.
