Summer Daze

It's been a summer of sleepless nights,
adjustments, and taking it slow,
yet some how my days are blowing past me.

Blogging has definitely taken a back seat as
I've had to make some hard choices like-
I've got 1 hour of peace, do I eat, shower, sleep,
or blog? 9 times out of 10 I pick sleep.

Here's what I've neglected to blog:

1. Mormon Night @ Angel Stadium

Jack & Kent had a blast without the girls.

2. Lots of walks

Here I am modeling Jack & Jill's
smooth new ride.

3. Ladybug metamorphosis

Jack has faithfully checked the bush in front of
our townhouse each day to see if the "baby"
ladybugs have broken out of their pupas.
The black spot in this photo is a newly
"hatched" ladybug. I've enjoyed this
little
adventure in learning

we've shared together.

4. Cousins

Kissin' Kousins Lydia and Jack

Lydia & Liza came to visit.
We love those girls.

Pops holding this years batch of grand daughters-
Liza 1/29/08 and Jillian 5/28/08

5. Kent got a Wii for Father's Day/His Birthday

Jack loves Wii baseball. He hardly ever gets on base,
yet he almost never loses a game. I always hit the ball, but
never score any points. How does that work?

6. Kite flying. Pops taught Jack the basics.

Jack caught on pretty fast, but
thought it was way more fun to watch Pops
scramble
to catch a fly away kite as
he repeatedly let go of the line.

7. Playing with big kids.

Uncle Tucker (blue and white rash guard) 17 years old

I'm convinced that young Aunts & Uncles are best.
Mack & Tuck are always ready to play and never miss
an opportunity to make Jack feel special.

Aunt Mack 13 years old

8. Fourth of July Parade

"Fammy" as Jack calls us.

How Jack rolled.

How Jill rolled.

Here we are- tired, but happy.

9. WICKED!

Loved it. Great music with
a clever twist on an old classic.
Plus it was girls' night out (literally).
I went with a handful of the Young Women
that I teach at Church.

A quick dinner at Dos Burritos.
Then we were off for 8pm curtain call.

If you haven't seen this pop opera,
what are you waiting for?

10.
Beach days...

and one blond boy.

We've been thinking about getting a Phil & Ted double stroller but we're not sure if it's worth the money. How do you like your, does it fit in your car trunk and what model do you have? For now where just putting Alina in her regular stroller and putting the baby in a sling or ergo.

What a GREAT summer. Each thing made me smile. Glad you were able to see wicked before it leaves...it is SO GOOD! Definitely a favorite of mine. I love the picture of Jack flying a kite...so cute.

I'm so glad to hear something from you again... but even happier to hear why its taken you so long. Kids first, sleep second. Do it! :) And I actually enjoyed the snippet style blog... it makes catching up a bit easier for both of us.

PS young aunts and uncles are the best. I was an 8 year old aunt myself and am still one of the favorites! :)

What a fun entry. It is fun to see how you've spent your summer. How is it being the mom of two? And how come to look so dang good? I'm jealous! I love that you and Jack watched and waited for new ladybugs. What a fun experience. I totally agree, young aunts and uncles are the best. Wicked hasn't made it to Utah yet. It is suppose to be here this spring - I can't wait. Want to come see it with me?! :)
I totally understand the back burner blogging. Life gets so busy and naps generally take priority here too.

Naps should be first. I'm in the easy part of pregnancy right now but I have had my share of naps while Hayden naps. I'm sure in the coming months I will do even more of that.

It looks like you have had a great summer.

I think you've chosen wisely with your one hour of free time :) Sleep is #1 for that first little while. But I was happy to see your new post. It seems like you've managed to squeeze in some fun this summer with being a new mama of two.

Sounds like you have been busy. It was fun to read up on everything. Enjoy the sleep...it is one of those things we Moms cherish, but for some reason never can get enough of it.

Looks like you've been busy...I loved Wicked...we saw it last year in Connecticut. An of course I remember that legondary prom...that was the most fun I've ever had at a dance...and we were there like 20 minutes right? Jesse's woody was awesome! I got picked up in that woody...I was almost disapointed we switched for the limo. Do you know whatever happened to all those guys? Pinky became a cop right?
