In the downtown area along the shore you'd find this sculpture of granite and bronze. Pelicans flying high. From the full view you see both birds, one perched on a barnacle covered pier while the other is preparing to dive for fish, ...but walk up closer to look, and you can see more. Look up...the pelicans. Skim down....fish ready for the taking from the sea. Walk around... and you see [tho hidden from view] you can find the artist at work behind the granite] carving the carving. A 'self portrait' if you will....Also the artist's name/year carved.

  1. That is a cool sculpture! I wanted to tell you about the viburnum - there are a lot of different varieties. We have 3 bushes and only one blooms like the one I showed. So - who knows what yours will look like. I bet it will be pretty though!

  8. I love good sculptures - this is a good one, in my limited artistic savvy! We have so many here in our town, and I love the realistic ones, not the abstract ones. Who is the sculptor?

  9. It always amazes me the talent some people have!! That is such a beautiful sculpture and I really love the idea of the artist adding a "self portrait" to it! Have a wonderful day, my friend. xoxo

  17. Is this in your hometown? Quite nice. I always enjoy the colors in granite, and this one doesn't disappoint. Are those palm trees across the street? I can remember as a kid traveling to California and being excited to see the palm trees and the orange trees. We have palms here now, not many on the streets, but specific places like the zoo, etc. They grow slowly here however. No orange trees though! LOL

  21. Ahhh! Corpus Christi TX, 800 miles due west of Naples FL, a swim through "shark-infested waters?'

Your blog is really worthy of a daily visit. Please stay, and KUTGW!

Great photos, and congratulations on your first DVD. I did so many makeovers I couldn't count them all. I kept thinking of how I could improve on the previous one. And then I would discover additional pictures I should have added or a song I should have used. And then I would discover I had another program on my computer that was a little different and I'd have to try that. On and on it goes. But what fun!
