Aubrey had a great birthday, complete with Cafe Rio dinner, birthday cake, lots of presents, and a friend party held on Saturday.
Aubrey has grown a lot over the past year, so much that she had outgrown her bike and was ready for a new one. Probably should have put her on a new one this winter but we waited for the b-day. She was excited to have a bike with brakes by the handle bars. M and I worked on this quilt together and then M decided that she wanted to give it to A for a birthday present. It has been well loved this past week.
The birthday party was held at a awesome park; train ride, carousel and lots of playgrounds to play on. Aubrey had decided on a train theme complete with invites, outfits, party favors, etc. Imagine the disappointment when we arrived at the park and discovered that the train was closed. Onto plan two, we rode the carousel and the kids had a great time.

The start of summer is always marked by 6 pack flowers at Home Depot, seedlings ready to transplant, pulling out the tomato cages for pepper plants and putting in my tiny herbs that will turn into full blown monsters by the end of the summer. What a refreshing thought to pick my own herbs after paying $2.49 a bunch at the grocery store all winter long. We have a few new tricks up our sleeves this year. Red plastic along my tomato line, supposed to reflect heat growing larger, tomatoes sooner. Black plastic along all my raised beds to suppress weeds, the girls were excited to hear about that, their summer job is to weed the garden beds. All reports are pointing to an awesome strawberry crop this year. Supposedly the wet winter made for awesome strawberry fields, we will wait and see.

Thankful for my mom this weekend and thankful to be a mom to four beautiful girls. I often wonder how my mom has raised 7 children, my house fills full and busy with the 4 that occupy my time, energy and patience.

My baby is growing up, into nursery in June! Where has the time flow away too? The past few weeks Jo has started to babble constantly. If you look interested and ask her questions she continues on, getting more excited by the moment. She is a stubborn little one, knows what she wants and will do what is necessary to get it. My little garden helper, basketball player, trouble maker, play set climber all rolled into one. We all love you little Jo.
