New Group Pictures!

Our wonderfully dedicated volunteer Hannah left yesterday, but we look forward to welcoming her back next month! I love the group pictures she got at two of the homes and thought I'd share them here.

BABY HOME

We received two new little ones at the Baby Home this week!
CASA DE AMOR III (GIRLS)

Hannah explains that the girls were napping before this picture and weren't quite in the mood for posing, but it's our first group picture with the newest, C.! (first girl at left)

Many Faces

We had to get a good picture last week of baby L for paperwork purposes, and I love the many faces he gave us.

Baby L is just 8 months old and well over 20 pounds - pretty huge for a Bolivian baby, especially one who was born prematurely! That's hard to believe now after all the good care he's gotten with the Booher family of Casa de Amor IV. :)

Cute babies!

For our Casa de Amor fans, a few recent pictures of our beautiful babies!!

Our newest, baby V, has the cutest ways of sleeping...

Spunky Toddler F (those who know her know this hairstyle just suits her!)

Baby C, growing slowly but surely (Yes, this is a girl - we need some hair!)

Toddler MN - hard to believe that she left today with her new Bolivian adoptive parents!! She was our second oldest at the Baby Home, a spot which will now go to A. who turned two last month.

O., our oldest at the Baby Home, turned three yesterday! Here she is modeling her new earrings, to replace the others she quickly lost...and one of these was gone by the next morning! Sigh. And she loves earrings so much!

And a final picture of our chubby cheeked V! (Blogger turned this picture automatically in two tries of uploading it, but I think it's still worth showing.)

Baby Photo Session

I love it when we are blessed with professional caliber pictures of our children!! In this case, volunteer Jenn set up a session with long time volunteer staff member Elena for some stunning photos with her special baby S right before she traveled back to Texas. Baby S was 5 1/2 months old at the time.
Enjoy - and see if it's not impossible to choose a favorite!!

The amazing photographer is Elena Alvarez, our volunteer coordinator - although she does so much more! For more pictures of this photo session and to read her blog "Simply Serving", click here!

little models

Yesterday at day's end, the little girls and I had a great time playing and snapping pictures as they tried on some of the newest goodies my friends at jail are making for me.

Introducing our little Casa de Amor Baby Home models!

Little O, age 2, got so into it I couldn't get her out of the clothes at the end...

She has spunk, this one!! Those who know her know what I'm talking about. ;-)

Oh, SO much help....

This dress is also for three year old...

Baby A, age 13 months, thought she wanted to wear a hat, but then decided "nah..."

This dress for a 3 or 4 year old didn't fit O so well, although she still loved trying it on!
Oh those eyes....

My three oldest girls at the Baby Home!
OH, so much fun!

M. N. (19 months) getting into the act! She mainly loved the head wear.
Our two cuties...but my, how mischievous! ;-)

(As my Dad would say, "Too much cuteness, just TOO MUCH cuteness...")

J., 3 1/2, also got into the act, putting on multiple ponchos at once at one point!

I can mail any of these little outfits for $14 + shipping & handling (approximately $10 to North America), and each of the hats for $4 + S & H.
I have hats for ages 1 and up.
The ponchos and dresses are mainly for ages 2-4 and I'll pick up a dress for a one year old this weekend, but that's Bolivian sizing... For children from other countries, I think the sizes are anywhere from 6 or 8 months up to 2 or maybe 3 years!

We can also make anything custom (your size, color, etc.), just let us know!

Nativity Scene 2011

Go ahead of the Master to prepare his ways,

Present the offer of salvation,

the forgiveness of sins.

And these words shall be in your heart,

You shall teach them diligently to your children,

and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way,

when you lie down, and when you rise up.

The child you bring to birth will be called Holy, Son of God.

She wrapped him in a blanket and laid him in a manger

because there was no room in the hostel.

Unto us a Child is born,

Unto us a Son is given!

The shepherds left, running, and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in the manger.

Seeing was believing.

They told everyone they met what the angels had said about this child.

The sheepherders let loose, glorifying and praising God for everything they had heard and seen.

A band of scholars arrived in Jerusalem from the East…to worship him.

They could hardly contain themselves: They were in the right place!

They had arrived at the right time!

They entered the house and saw the child in the arms of Mary, his mother.

Overcome, they kneeled and worshiped him.

Glory to God in the heavenly heights,

Peace to all men and women on earth who please him.

For a child has been born—for us!

The gift of a son—for us!

His names will be Amazing Counselor.

Strong God.

Eternal Father.

Prince of Wholeness.

Mary kept all these things to herself, holding them dear,

deep within herself.

My soul magnifies the Lord,

And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior!

Celebrating our Savior’s holy birth, life, death, and resurrection,
