Swoosh!!!!

There's more bugs afoot!

A new big guy has brought with him a load of new gribblies and big beasties.

I've been working hard on this army recently, I had to get it all painted for Vonwar, which I'll be going into more details on the Lucky88th

Apologies for the photos being a bit blue, I used my parents camera and I'm not sure on the settings, and I tried to use natural lighting in the conservatory, but it has a blue roof, hence the blue-ish hue.

So lets get onto the pictures, theres some mighty big beasties at the end

but first, lets start small!!

Some floaty spore mines

I had to knock up three objective markers on 40mm bases due to my others being on 60mm (too big for Vonwar)

I thought I'd show you some of my more dynamic Hormagaunts

this one is leaping over a fallen barrel, with a ripper leaving the barrel itself after searching it for morsels. (I think i need to re-position the ripper, he seems a little sad)

This one is knocking over a barrel

I had to make an Ambassador model for Vonwar. At first I was going to use the broodlord, until I realised he was a 40mm base. So I knocked this guy together with some spare genestealer arms, head and a hormagaunt body, with an extra brain on his back.

The Hive Tyrant now has a bodyguard, sparking the question in my mind: is the Hive tyrant called Betty? and will she call him Al?

Raveners are finally finished

this one has a little ripper friend!

And the Tyranid Warriors are finished too

in my mind they need more stuff piled on the bases,

Here we go, a big monster to keep you happy!

And go on then, another even bigger beasty, this guy is a Tyrannofex built with the Fleshborer Hive (Assault 20!)

Don't forget to check out my main blog The Lucky88th for the full rundown of Vonwar

Cheers

The Dormant Beast Awakens

Still reeling from the virus attacks, Borlina was plunged into an unending war with chaotic daemons and renegade guardsmen fighting to destroy any sign of the emperors influence over the once royal and aristocratic planet.

The Lucky 88th along with the local Astartas chapters began to make some headway. once the mighty fortress palace of Borlingrav was recaptured, Reinforcements could be brought into the planet, boosting the Regiments of the unofficial PDF under the watchfull eye of the commissariat.

Things no longer looked bleak for the diseased hell hole, fortifications were being construced and the planet was regaining the emperors will.

Maybe the sheer optimism of the imperial troops drew the dormant hive fleet in or another one of Inquisitor Payne's dubious experiments buried forever under the great palace'smain chambers. Who can say. All we know is a tentacle of the great devourer has made it to the outer reaches of the cadian gate.

Due to borlin's unusually high number of malanthropes and rippers it is believed to be a remnant of an ancient hive fleet long destroyed, Hive Splinter Borlin is comprised mainly of the "clean up" elements of an average hive fleet. Entirely obsessed with gorging itself to capacity by means of teeth, claws and digestive acids. Ranged weapons hardly ever feature in their ranks, only slithering, gibbering rows of blades occasionally spitting venomous sprays and toxic bile to aid the digestion of their foe.
