Hello friends!! Popping in with a card for the current MFT Wednesday sketch challenge, as well as Virginia's View challenge #2 - stencils.
I will be honest and tell you that I'm not real big on stencils. I own one and don't plan to buy any more. I have dies that I can use to make my own stencils and given that this isn't a technique that I will be using alot using my dies to make my own works perfectly for me! I'm also not big on spray mists for several reasons that I won't bore you with! However, I did buy four Perfect Pearl Mists (for reasons I don't even remember, lol!) a few years ago and thankfully I was able to use one of them for my card. I created my stencil by cutting a piece of thin chipboard using my MFT Fluttering Hearts die. I layed it on my white cardstock and sprayed away using Perfect Pearls Heirloom Gold mist. After removing the stencil I realized that you can't really tell that those are hearts, but I forged ahead anyway. I cut the piece down to the size I wanted and then stamped it with my sentiment (from the MFT set Chalkboard Greetings) using black ink. I matted the piece with PTI Smoky Shadow cardstock. Some pink polka dotted paper from Echo Park was cut to fit my card base, the edges distressed a bit and then adhered to the card base. The stenciled piece was layered on top and then I added the wood veneer arrows that I colored using SU!'s Melon Mambo ink and then daubed them with a Ranger Gold paint dauber. Not a bad effort... but I think I may try making something using my fibre paste.
Thanks for stopping by...

because...
Hello friends! Hope you are having a good weekend. We have been having a pretty wet and windy one so far. Have a card to share that I made using the current MFT sketch (MFTWSC158). I also used the colors from the first Card Concept challenge and made my card in the "clean and layered" style.
I used the MFT sets Splendid Sunflower and Peaceful Wildflowers. The sunflower was stamped and then trimmed out (still don't own the matching die!) and then three little rhinestones were added. After creating all the initial layers I used some Early Espresso baker's twine to create the two final elements in the layout. Once the twine was attached I added the trimmed out sunflower.

Supplies: Cardstock: PTI cream, kraft and pink; PP: PTI kraft; Stamps: MFT; Ink: Stampin Up!; Baker's twine: Stampin Up!; Rhinestones: KI Memories

a couple of cards...
Hello friends!! Have a couple of cards that I made today. Both cards use My Favorite Things stamps so that is why I'm posting them together.
The first card is for the current sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch and this week's ColourQ challenge. I used the following MFT stamp sets: Big Greetings and Abstract Art. I have had Abstract Art for sometime now, but just hadn't found the right project to use it on. Finally this week's CTS gave me that opportunity. I stamped the first image using PTI's Simply Chartreuse and layered the second image using SU!'s Pacific Point. The sentiment was added using SU!'s Early Espresso. The card base is Island Indigo.
The second card is for the current MFT Wednesday Sketch challenge. Once, again, I used the MFT set Chalkboard Greetings. Love that set... so fun! The papers I used are from My Mind's Eye Cut & Paste line... this time the "Flair" 6x6 pad. I stamped the sentiment using Close to My Heart's Daisy White ink and once it was mostly dry smudged it a bit. The twine I used is some Tim Holtz paper twine. I got it this afternoon at Joann's. They had a lot of their crafting supplies on sale at 50% off and so I thought I would give this twine a try. It tied pretty nicely... which is something I like. The banners were die cut using the MFT Fishtail Flag Stax dies.

An Apple for Teacher...
Hey there... doing a quick post with a card I made for the My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge (MFTWSC69). I recently got the MFT ala' Mode An Apple for Teacher set and had been wanting to make a card with it ever since. When the new sketch came out last Wednesday I knew I was going to use that set for my card. I also used the new MFT Die-namcis Fishtail Flag Stax set and one of the little doilies from the Die-namics Mini Doilies set. How cute is that little doily??? I just love so many of the MFT Die-namics dies... my collection of them is growing by the month!
I used some yummy papers from the My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline Howdy Doody 6x6 pad. I have used up almost all the papers in the pad, but thankfully I have a new pad on its way to me, along with some other My Mind's Eye goodies. I did a bit a paper piecing with the apple and then colored the rest of the image with Copic markers. I tried to pull out some of the colors from the patterned paper, but not sure I succeed completely. I trimmed her out and popped her up on fishtail flag die cut from cork. I'm really liking the added texture that cork brings to a project. Button tied with twine was added to the center of the mini doily die cut. Was so thankful I found a button that was fairly close to the peachy color I used as a mat! Finished off the inside of the card, as well.
Thanks for stopping by....

sending big hugs....
Hey there.... the weekend is winding to a close and it was a beautiful one here in Western Washington!! YAY!! I'm hoping the week ahead is just as nice. Here with a card I made using the current My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge sketch (MFTWSC68).
For my card I used some 6x6 papers from the Simple Stories Fabulous pad. This is the first time I have used any papers from Simple Stories and I must say that they are rather cute! It's funny because I used to be so afraid of using patterned paper, but then a friend I made through the Hero Arts Flickr group expressed such admiration for my skill with patterned papers that my confidence grew tremendously and now I thoroughly enjoy combining different papers on my cards. It also helps that all these pads are coordinated to begin with... hee hee!! Anywhoo... the only stamping on the card is the sentiment which is from the MFT set Big Greetings. All the dies used on the card are from MFT, as well. They recently released their Fishtail Flag Stax dies and when I saw then I just had to get them! I used the 2nd to smallest fishtail flag die to create my little flag. The felt rose was created using their Rolled Rose die and the leaves with their newly released Royal Leaves die set and some MFT Sour Apple felt... yummy!!! I added a little buttoned embellished with some twine to finish things off.
Thanks for stopping by... wishing you a wonderful week ahead!
