Spellbinders December Clubs

Hello!  I'm popping in on this very snowy afternoon to share the cards I have made with this month's Spellbinders clubs.    This month's clubs are all about love.  I know, I know... we haven't even had Christmas yet, but Valentine's day will be here before we know it.   My cards aren't done in traditional valentine colors though.  Take a look.

This first card features the December Glimmer club called Floral Framed Glimmering Heart.  The large floral heart and sentiment were foiled using blush foil on Glacier cardstock.  I love the look.   The floral heart panel was die cut down to fit my card front and adhered.  I then die cut the sentiments with the included banner die and popped them up in the center of the heart.   There are also die included that die cut flowers and leaves.  I die cut a flower and leaves from the Glacier cardstock then adhered them below the sentiments.  A little blue gem was added to the flower for a finishing touch.  I'm going to post this one to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of anything goes.

The second card also uses the December Glimmer club and the embossing folder club called Heart Blooms.  Isn't it pretty?!  I die cut the panel of Glacier cardstock and then embossed it with the folder.  I flipped the panel over because I wanted to use the debossed side.  Another look I really love!   The Glimmer club includes the solid heart and scalloped heart.   I foiled each one separately and then die cut them.  The scalloped heart had the center die cut out so I could place the solid foiled heart in the center.  I die cut additional hearts to layer in the center to give the foiled heart more dimension.  The sentiment is another die from the Glimmer club.  I really like how it embosses the sentiment into the center of the banner.  I adhered the hearts and then popped up the banner in the center.

This card is a little departure from the other two cards in that I used a completely different color scheme.  This card will be posted to Color Throwdown as I used those colors for my card.   The December stamp and die club is called My Forever Person and features two heart images as well as images that spell out the word love.  I used the large floral heart image for this card.  I stamped it with VersaMark watermark ink and then embossed it in silver.  I did simple Copic coloring for the image and then die cut it with the matching heart shaped die.  The sentiment was stamped in VersaFine CLAIR Nocturne ink and die cut with a sentiment strip.  That was popped up in the center of the heart.  I die cut white cardstock and then embossed it with the embossing folder.  This time I used the embossed side.

All three cards are very clean and simple, but I hope you like them.  Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day!

Spellbinders November Clubs

Hello!  Can you believe it is already November?  I can't, lol!  Where has the year gone?!  Anyway, today is the first day of November and that means that all the new Spellbinders clubs are available in the web store.  I have three cards to share today featuring the embossing folder, Glimmer and clear stamp and die clubs.  (An affiliate linked list of supplies is at the end of this post.  Using my links allows me to earn a small commission at no cost to you.  Thank you for your support.)   Let's take a look at what I made with this month's clubs.

The first card features the stamp and die club called Diamond & Arch Motif, as well as the embossing folder club called Fan Motif.  I die cut Spellbinders Glacier cardstock with a rectangle die and embossed it with the club folder.  I decided to keep things simple by just embossing the largest floral image from the stamp set, as well as the sentiment with gold embossing powder.  After die cutting I popped both up on the card front with foam tape.

This card features the Glimmer Club called Glimmer Edge Stylized Floral.  The club kit comes with Aura foil.   The Aura foil looks so pretty foiled on the aqua cardstock.   The new Glimmer foil plate allows you to foil all the images as well as the sentiment in one pass.   I decided to go with a monochromatic look and so I made a card base and panel from the same cardstock I used to foil the images.   After adhering all the pieces, I popped up the sentiment.  Going to add this card to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of anything goes

My final card uses the embossing folder called Fan Motif.   I die cut white cardstock with a rectangle die and then embossed it with the embossing folder.   I also used the Glimmer club.  This time I foiled the images using the new white opaque foil on pink cardstock.  It is so pretty!   The sentiment is from the stamp and die cut club that I heat embossed in white on the pink cardstock.   The small rectangle was die cut from vellum.  I adhered the flower, leaves and sentiment to the vellum and then placed foam adhesive behind the images so they are hidden.  The panel was then adhered to a pink cardstock base.

Spellbinder Release - Part 1

Hello!  Hope your September is going well.  It has finally cooled down a bit here in my corner of the Pacific Northwest and I am thankful for that.  I'm even hoping for a little bit of rain, but that isn't in the forecast.   As my blog post title indicates I'm sharing some projects created with products from the September Spellbinders release.   These cards were made with products from a new Spellbinders designer, Zsoka Marko.  Zsoka is a whiz with Spellbinders dies and creates the most amazing projects with them.  So I was surprise excited to see that she had a line coming out with Spellbinders.  The collection is called Winter Tales and you can find the complete collection here.  (A list of affiliate linked products will be at the end of this blog post.  Using my links allows me to earn a small commission at no cost to you.  Thank you for your support.)

I used the beautiful Nordic Ornaments for the first card.  The set comes with two different dies, as well as lots of little dies to add fun details.  I used the larger ornament die for my card.   The color palette is from Color Throwdown.   After cutting all the pieces from the various colors of cardstock I put my ornament together.  I finished off the flowers with come Nuvo drops in Morning Dew.  The sentiment is from a previously release Spellbinders stamp set.  The sentiment was stamped in watermark ink and heat embossed with cream embossing powder.   The background was embossed with a new embossing folder called Holly Flourish from a collection by Becca Feeken.  You will be seeing more of this gem of an embossing folder!  I adhered the ornament and sentiment to the background.  Attached that to a kraft cardstock basee and then finished the card with the baker's twine bow.

For my second card I went for a more fall themed design.  This card was created with the Enchanted Garden die set.  This set is packed full of sweet flower images that you can layer to your hearts content, along with several different stems and leafy branches.  All the cardstock I used is from Spellbinders and will be listed below.  I die cut all the pieces from each color and then layered them.  The sentiment is from the Spellbinders September clear stamp and die club.  That was stamped on Alabaster cardstock in VersaFine CLAIR Acorn ink and then the flowers adhered as you see.

Spellbinders June Clubs

Hello everyone!  It is June 1st and that means there are new Spellbinders club kits available in the Spellbinders shop!  I have four projects to share today.  First up are two cards that I created with the Glimmer club kit.

The June Glimmer kit is called Paisley Glimmer and includes a plate that allows you to foil two rows of paisley shapes.  There are also dies that can be used to cut out the shapes.  I used the one that cuts out the full shape.  I had a bunch of scraps of white cardstock so I used those to foil the plate with rainbow foil from the kit.  It took a while to foil everything and then die cut all the shapes, but I think it was worth it.  There are three sentiments and I foiled all of them, as well, with the rainbow foil.  I popped up all the shapes on a panel of white cardstock and then added the sentiment.  I finished by adding Nuvo drops in Morning Dew to center of the shapes with the flowers.  (Affiliate linked list of supplies available at the end of this post.  Using my links allows to me earn a small commission at no cost to you.  Thank you for your support.)

This second card is a bonus card as I had some of the paisley shapes left over and didn't want them to go to waste.  I used the June embossing folder to emboss the small white panel.   I adhered the panel to a card base and then arranged the shapes, as well as the sentiment.

The third card uses the stamp and die club kit called Paisley Bouquet.  There are several paisley images, as well as medallion images that have matching dies and two sentiments with matching dies.   I stamped all the images and sentiments on Spellbinders Cosmic Sky with watermark ink and then heat embossed everything with gold embossing powder.  After die cutting all the pieces I decided to layer up the medallions to create a layered one.  I foiled the paisley strip from the Glimmer kit in gold on Spellbinder Alabaster cardstock and then die cut it with a rectangle die.  I layered up all the images on a panel of white cardstock and then finished with drops of gold glitter to the top flower.

My final card showcases the beauty of the June embossing folder called Botanical Diamond.  I die cut Cosmic Sky cardstock with an essentials rectangle die and then centered the panel in the embossing folder.  After embossing the panel I added it to a white cardstock base and finished it off with one of the sentiments from the stamp and die kit and some gold fashion pearls.

Spellbinders April Club Kits... take 2

Hello!  I'm back with the card I made using the Spellbinder April stamp and die kit.  This kit is all about celebrations and presents!  And it coordinates with the small die kit.   Take a look at what I made:

Isn't that large presents image fun?  So many things that you can do with it.  I decided to color it with Copic markers.  I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored with Copics in shades of purple/violet and a sage green.   When I am coloring with Copics I have finally learned to leave the stamp in my stamping tool so that I can place the cardstock back in and restamp the image.  After I did that I die cut it with the matching die.  The little bows were colored with the sage green combo and die cut, as well.  So that the white outline of the bows wasn't so harsh I went around the edges with a gray Copic marker.   The sage green and purple combo came from Color Throwdown.  But as I got into putting the card together I completely forgot that they wanted cream and not white in the mix!  Oops!  Oh well... I will still be sharing this at Freshly Made Sketches as that is where the layout came from.   I used the embossing folder from the March Spellbinders embossing folder kit to emboss the small panel.  I then adhered a thin strip of purple cardstock.  I would have gone with sage green, but I have absolutely no sage green cardstock in my extensive collection of cardstock!   I adhered that piece to a white cardstock panel I die cut with an essentials rectangle die and then attached the panel to a light gray cardstock base.   The sentiment was stamped on vellum and heat embossed in black.  I adhered the presents image, the sentiment and then added a few green gems.  Think I will add this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge, too.

Spellbinders March Club Kits Blog Hop!

Hello!  Today a multitude of designers are sharing projects created using products from the Spellbinders March club kits.  And because this is a blog hop there are prizes to be won!  Make sure to leave a comment on the Spellbinders blog by 11:59 MST on March 13, 2022 to be in the running to win one of three $25 gift certificates!   You should have arrived at my blog by way of Erin Thompson's blog.   (Compensated affiliate links used where possible.  Using my links allows me to earn a small commission at no cost to you.  Thank you for using my links.)

The gnomes in this month's stamp and die club kit are just too darn cute!  This time I used the he gnome from the set along with the fun little balloon.  I stamped everything with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored everything with Copic markers.  I pulled the colors from the rainbow patterned paper that you see in the background.  Once I was done with my coloring, I die cut all the images with my Platinum 6 die cutter.  The patterned paper was die cut with the largest rectangle from the Essentials rectangles set and adhered to a white cardstock base.  I thought the patterned paper was so cute that I didn't want to completely cover it up so I die cut a vellum rectangle using a smaller Essentials die.  A strip of green patterned paper was cut, adhered across the bottom of the rectangle and then I added my little gnome and his balloons.  The sentiment was stamped in a dark blue ink and then cut with the matching dies.  I love having the matching dies!  Once I adhered the sentiments I added foam tape behind all of my elements so I could pop up the vellum panel.  I also added Nuvo drops in Morning Dew to the polka dots on the balloons, the tops of the balloons and the gnomes hat.  Since my card has a spring theme I'm going to add it to the Paper Players challenge.  I will also add this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge

Your next stop on the hop is Karen Yagel.  You can check out all the club kits here.   Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day!

Spellbinders February Club Kits

Hello!  I'm popping in to share cards I have made with the February Spellbinders club kits.  You can find out all about the club kits right here.    My cards this month all share a similar look because I decided to use some patterned paper from P13 for all the cards.  First up is my card using the embossing folder kit. (Affiliate links used where possible.  Using my links allows me to earn a small commission at no cost to you.  Thank you for your support.)  Spellbinders has several different offers going on and an opportunity to win a limited edition aqua Platinum 6 die cutter.  Make sure to scroll down to the bottom for all the details.

The name of this month's embossing folder is Sketch Floral and as you can see it has a really lovely floral design.  When I started making my card I had tried a technique Jennifer McGuire shared where you ink up the embossing folder with a brayer.  I don't know if it was the ink I used or what, but the technique didn't work that well for me.   So I moved on to another technique she shared where you ink up the embossed cardstock directly using the brayer.  I flipped the embossed piece over to the flat side and inked up the panel.  I then trimmed it down to fit my card front.  I used some P13 The Four Seasons Summer patterned paper to hot foil the sentiment from the February Glimmer kit with my Glimmer using bright pink foil.  The P13 patterned paper is very heavy weight and smooth perfect for getting a good result when foiling.  I then wrapped the strip around my embossed panel and secured it in the back.  I adhered my panel to a white cardstock base.  Since I still had part of the embossed panel left I trimmed out one of the flowers, adhered it with foam tape and then added some Spellbinders Crystal Mix gems in white to the center of the flower.

For this card I focused on the Glimmer kit of the month called Anytime Glimmer Sentiments.  Some of the sentiments are in the pretty script font that you see on my card and they are meant to be at an angle.  As you can see I was able to place this particular sentiment in a straight line fashion (hope that makes sense!).  I also used bright pink foil to foil the sentiment.  I trimmed down a piece of the patterned paper with an Essentials rectangle and then added the two thin strips of bright pink paper.  The panel was then adhered to my card front.  I foiled sentiment on another piece of the P13 patterned paper with my Glimmer, die cut it with a smaller Essentials rectangle and adhered it to my card front.  I finished the card off with a little flower and two leafy stems from the February stamp and die kit.  The Crystal Mix gems were also added to the small flower.

The final card is a mini slimline.  I used up scraps that I had from making the two other cards to make this one using the February stamp/die club kit.   I stamped the cute typewriter from the stamp set on bright green patterned paper using a bright green ink.  I then die cut it using my Platinum 6.  The sentiment was stamped on a scrap of the patterned paper that didn't have a pattern on it with the same bright green ink and then die cut with another die from the kit.  When you die cut the typewriter it cuts a slit which allows you to slip the small rectangle through and secure in the back.   I also stamped a little heart from the stamp set on bright pink patterned paper with a dark pink ink three times and die cut them.  The little flowers were created using another scrap of the patterned paper with no pattern on it.  I used the same bright green and dark pink inks.  I adhered my patterned papers to my mini slimline card base and then popped up the typewriter and the little hearts.   The flowers were then tucked in behind the typewriter.  I finished by adding Glossy Accents to the hearts and typewriter keyes.  I think this fits the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge so I will be posting it there.

Spellbinders January Clubs

Hello!  Hope your year is off to a good start.  I'm popping in with two cards that I created using the Spellbinder January stamp/die club and Glimmer club kits.   This month all the Spellbinders club kits coordinate seamlessly.  One of my cards uses the embossing folder that is part of the new embossing folder club.  You can see that card here.   (Compensated affiliate links used where possible.  Using my links allows me to earn a small commission at no cost to you.  Thank you for your support.)

This first card uses the Glimmer club kit.  It didn't turn out exactly as I had envisioned it would, but sometimes that happens, right?!  The glimmer kit includes two heart shaped glimmer plates the one you see and one that has a floral motif.  There are also multiple sentiment plates and then dies to cut out the hearts, as well as some flowers and a leafy stem.  I glimmered the heart sentiment plate using Polished Brass foil on Spellbinders Pink Sand cardstock and die cut it with the heart die.  I then decided to create a wreath to place the heart sentiment on top of.   I traced a circle on to my white cardstock panel and then arranged the leafy stems around the circle.  I will admit that the first one did not turn out and I had to start over.  The second wreath turned out better, but is still a little wonky, lol!   The flowers were cut from Pink Sand and white cardstock and adhered around the wreath.   The flowers were actually attached to the leafy stems wrong which might be why things look a little off.   Going to add this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of something new.  My new is the glimmer kit.

The second card uses the stamp/die club kit.  You can also just subscribe to the stamp of the month club.  There are three heart images, some smaller floral/heart images, as well as multiple sentiments.  The dies include a die to cut out the hearts, dies for the small images, as well as two dies to cut out the sentiments.  I stamped one of the heart images ink Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Copic friendly cardstock and colored the image with Copic markers.  I had decided that I was going to use Spellbinders Waterfall cardstock and emboss it with the Spreading Love embossing folder so I made sure to match the color of Copic markers I used to the cardstock as closely as I could.   Once the coloring was done I stamped over the image (I made sure to leave everything in my stamping tool to get a perfect restamp) with watermark ink, covered it with clear embossing powder and heat set.  I die cut my panel of Waterfall cardstock first using a Spellbinders Essentials rectangle die and then positioned that in the Spreading Love embossing folder.  I taped it in place so it wouldn't shift and then ran it through my Platinum 6.  I layered on the heart and a sentiment from the stamp set that I also clear embossed and then die cut with one of the banner dies.  I finished off the card with a ton of little red gems from the Spellbinders Essentials red gems

Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day!
