snap my apple tree

(Sorry just realised I  hadn't set up the auto post correctly)

If you are puzzled why I haven't left a comment on your snap from last week - I'm away from cheap wifi - I'll be visiting last week's and this week's snap next week when I'm back to my normal borachband provision.

As part of my packing and preparation process I drew together this snap collection of the apple tree in my garden - when it was first in bloom in 2011 then flowering earlier this year and now the lovely fruit - hope the birds haven't got them all while I've been away.

snap delicate

Another subject matter that is widely seen as a pest to be removed

when I went into the garden for some much needed weeding, I couldn't resist playing with my camera first - I had to take these unseen as the camera was nearly on the ground then sort through for the good ones.

Just dug up loads and removed flowers and buds and the rest of the seed heads but I know there will be lots more flowers next week - they know how to survive!

Thank you all for your continued interest as fellow snappers, commentators and silent visitors

snap small & white

so many lovely flowers out at the moment, I decided to narrow down my snap category to 'small and white' and have found myself singing bits of 'Eidelweiss' (as heard in the Sound of Music) since as one of the phrases is 'small and white, clean and bright ..'

The snowdrops are in my garden but the others I spotted while out walking around the neighbourhood and peering into other people's gardens

I'm so enjoying the variety of snap subjects that you are sharing and now have quite a list of ideas for future collections

4 months apart pair

Back in May when I took a photo of the apple blossom on the trees in my garden I though it would be a nice match when I had fruit and I remembered this week to take the second photo

I have 2 different apple varieties - the red ones are just about ripe - I have eaten and enjoyed the ones from a branch of this tree with more direct sunshine.  The others are not ready yet.  I do enjoy being able to eat apples from my garden.

Anticipating a lovely variety of pairs from you all this week

retro Pairs

looking out of the window at the buddleia I realised it would be perfect for a revisit to last year's meme of zoom in, zoom out

I think the yellow ball at the bee's tail is a collection of pollen.

Looking forward to seeing what treasure you have collected this week in your pairs

Pair caught under the leaves

A sunny morning meant that I finally tackled some weeding in my flower beds and took my camera to take some pretty flower photos.  But I also spotted some smaller wildlife hurrying for cover under the leaves and pursued them for my pair of critters

I did also remove a bucket load of old bluebell stems and other sundry plants that I don't want in my garden (aka weeds)

wondering what other pairs I'll see this week on all your lovely blogs

pairs in my garden

one of the delights of my front garden is the succession of bulbs that flower in spring.  First are the snowdrops and crocus and then the daffodils and then grape hyacinth.  These two photos were taken only 5 weeks apart

I'm sure I'll be sharing more pairs of this view as the changes continue through into May.

Looking forward to some visual treats and some interesting stories in your pairs this week.

zoom in on the harvest

my garden is rather lacking in colour at the moment.  In the front garden none of the plants are flowering, just a few marigolds and the remains of the hydrangea - after producing wave after wave of flowers since February, this is a down period.  In the back garden there is plenty of green and the sweetpeas are still in bloom but the thing that really sings is the apple tree with lovely red apples nearly ready to pick

looking forward to seeing what has caught your eye this week

5 in 5 with a bit of whimsy

Joining in with Sandie’s monthly 5 in 5 challenge to take photos over 5 minutes and then share the best 5.  I thought I’d head into my garden for some shots and then decided to add some whimsy -

july-5-1

fighting a path through the mass of rocket

july-5-2

up the mint stalks to spy out the route to the strawberries

july-5-3

across the honeysuckle vines

july-5-4

down the apple tree

july-5-5

and finally enjoying the strawberries at the end of the expedition.
