Ticket to Ride, H2H Challenge with Zoe Papers

"Ticket to Ride" is this week's challenge at Heart 2 Heart! This was a great time for me to finally scrap a few photos from a couple years ago... Lawnmower Rides with Daddy!

It's a simple moment, so I wanted to keep the layout clean and simple. I used the NEW (Early Released) Paper Collection from Close To My Heart called "Zoe".  This paper is both cheerful and adorable.

The "One Happy Day" sentiment on the zip strip seemed fitting for my photos. I added a couple accents from the Complements Sticker pack.

This "Me & You" sticker was too cute not to use under this picture!

Needed a little something on the upper portion of the Right Hand page... A couple stars, and pennant, and a quick tie of glacier twine.

You have the rest of the month to play along with the Challenge at Heart 2 Heart. What inspires you to scrapbook when you hear the theme "Ticket To Ride"? Can't wait to see what you create!

Life is a Beach!

Life is a Beach! I am beyond excited to submit my FIRST project created for my FIRST time ever serving on a Design Team. I am a member of Team Slate at the Heart 2 Heart Challenge Blog! This has been an item on my Bucket List for a couple of years now. It feels so good to be taking part in this adventure.

Learn more about how you can join in on the Challenge: Life is a Beach! Plus, get inspired by what the Design Team has come up with!

Summer is in full swing and it's the perfect time to set aside the chance to go play and enjoy the beautiful weather! It was a rainy day that I took the chance to escape to my craft room and create this layout for some of my FAVORITE Beach photos!

For my layout I followed along with a Sketch Challenge from Let's Scrap, 7-1-15! I hope you like my take on it.
I created my 2 page layout using the paper pack, "Brushed", from Close To My Heart. I loved how the pages matched my daughter's swim suit, plus the Sticker Complements made the perfect Title- "Sassitude"!

The other stickers from the Complements sheet coordinated nicely with some of the embellishment opportunities on the sketch!

Visit the other Team Members from the "Team Slate" Design Team and check out what may inspire you to create your "Life Is A Beach" project! Don't forget to link your creation up to the challenge!

Thanks for stopping in to see what I've been creating!

Looking forward to Strawberry Picking!

I am looking forward to Strawberry Picking so much that I have already created the 2 page scrapbook layout that the photos I will take in the future will go into! (Did you stay with me on that? heheh!)

I am submitting this creation to the Heart 2 Heart challenge titled "Tutti Fruitti". The challenge was to create a project with FRUIT in it. The new "Taste of Summer" paper pack had exactly what I needed to be "Fruitti". There is a challenge at this blog each week and you have until the current month to enter, the only rule is that you use Close To My Heart supplies when you create. If you haven't played along there yet I strongly encourage it, it is so much fun to have extra motivation to get your projects done!

My layout was also inspired by a sketch template that I found at Scrapbook Generations Blog. Check this site out to see some of their older retired sketch issues that are now available free once you create an account.

Recipe:
- May 2015 Stamp of the Month "Just Sayin'" (S1505)
- Taste of Summer Paper Pack (May 2015 Constant Campaign)
- Taste of Summer Stamp Set (May 2015 Constant Campaign)
- Ink: Cranberry, Ponderosa Pine

Have you cut into your Taste of Summer papers yet?

"Cross-Stitch Wishes" Card

January 2014's Stamp Of The Month stamp set, "Cross-Stitch Wishes", is the ideal set to use for the cross stitcher or quilt crafter you know. I have ideas for thank you cards to people who have made me special one of a kind stitched gifts. Also, I could use this stamp set on scrapbook pages documenting special gifts such as quilts. What will you, or have you, used your January Stamp Of The Month on?

I partnered this stamp set with the "Seize The Sketch" STS #12 sketch challenge. It was the perfect sketch to showcase the pennant/banner accent detail! What do you think of my interpretation?

The person I had in mind when I created this card likes blue, which meant it would also be great to include the challenge at "Inspired By" #104! How do you think I did?

Supply List:
  • S1401: "Cross-Stitch Wishes" January 2014 Stamp Of The Month (CTMH)
  • Inks: Cocoa, Sky
  • Papers: Surfs Up. Claire, both sides of buzz and bumble
I used both sides of my double sided background and texture paper from my buzz and bumble paper pack. I am submitting this card to the "Two-Faced" Challenge at the Heart 2 Heart blog.

Can't wait to give this special card!

Surf's Up! Layout #4! Waterplay!

Surf's Up! Layout #4! The layout is my take on the sketch from "Let's Scrap". I love checking in on this blog to see the weekly sketch challenge! Below is the sketch I worked with.

I added a couple extra photos in place of some of the suggested embellishments. (I just can't edit myself to only 3 photos just yet!) I also moved my journaling from the top right corner to the base of the wave shapes I made instead. What do you think on my interpretation? If this looks like fun to you be sure to check in each week and play along!

I used my brand NEW "Artbooking Cricut Cartridge" on this layout. It is available for purchase starting August 1st. I could not resist using the wave shape on this layout! It was a great way to show waterplay! I am going to enter this layout in the "water, water, everywhere" challenge on the Heart 2 Heart Challenges blog!

Also on the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge was this cute title! "Fun and Sun" sums it up pretty well!

For the vertical element of the sketch I stamped a swirl flourish and repeated it so it looked as if it were one continuous shape.

Supplies:
  • Surf's Up! Workshop On The Go Kit
  • CTMH Love Life stamp set
  • CTMH Artbooking Cricut Cartridge Bundle
  • CTMH Creme Brulee Ink Pad
  • CTMH Bitty Sparkles
  • SUP Marker in "Not Quite Navy"
  • CTMH Retired Mayberry Paper
Thank you for checking in!

Dakota: Heart 2 Heart Sketch Challenge

I love to work with a sketch! This beauty is from the Heart 2 Heart Challenge Blog! Can't wait for you to see what I made with it using my Dakota Workshop on the go Kit from Close to my Heart!

What do you think of my take on this sketch?

I rarely create single scrapbook pages, so here is what the total 2 page layout looks like! I used my new "Make if from Your Heart" pattern sketch book (available to you on August 1st.) I love this new pattern how-to book! It is magazine style, which makes it VERY affordable and worth every penny! It is only $7.95! It contains scrapbook AND card sketches with all of the measurements. I used pattern 07 from page 18.

The medallions on one of the Dakota background and texture papers were PERFECT for mimicking the circle pattern on the sketch.

For a fun handmade embellishment I used the black hemp that comes with the kit to create "barbed wire". I will show you how I did it at the Dakota Scrapbook class that Cherish will host on Saturday September 29th. Contact me for more details if you would like to RSVP and reserve your spot or learn more about my classes.

Roar! Dinosaur Birthday Cards!

When the New Close to my Heart Idea book came out the stamp set "Roar" caught my eye. I could not wait to get my hands on it! The adorable dinosaurs... The witty puns in the sentiments... :)

Dinosaurs are the perfect theme for creating Birthday Cards for boys or girls. In this case I created a Birthday card for my Little Brother. He has autism and is amazed by anything "big". Dinosaurs definitely fit that requirement! Today we had a snow/ice day so the kids were home from school with me. We worked on our cards together and talked about how excited Uncle Aaron will be to receive so many cards in the mail!

On my card I used the color scheme suggested by the current Colour Q Challenge. I found similar colors in my collection of supplies.

The February sketch challenge from Heart 2 Heart was the perfect pattern for the card I wanted to make. I used the bones as the vertical element and layered it with scrabble tiles cut out from a paper in the "Cruisin" Paper Packet from Close to my Heart. Instead of a heart I placed my Dinosaur, looking up at the name.

For my Dinosaur I stamped it once in Cocoa on paper from the Victory Paper Packet and then trimmed it out and glued it right on the card. Then I stamped the Dino in Sunset ink on white and trimmed him out and placed him slightly out of alignment with the brown one and raised up on 3D foam tape. This was all an effort to create a "shadow".

Supply List:
Roar Stamp set from Close to my Heart
Card Word Puzzle Stamp Set from CTMH
Green, Yellow, Orange, and white cardstock
Victory and Cruisin paper
Googley eyes
Liquid Glass (to glue eyes)
3D Foam Tape
Sunset, Cocoa, and Pear Ink Pads

Crystal Blue and Amethyst

Crystal blue and hints of Amethyst are a beautiful color combination you can find in Close to my Hearts paper pack titled 'Wonderland'. I paired them together here an this winter thank you card. I added a little glitter and shimmer in the snow sprayed texture.

My card base is Crystal Blue card stock. I sprayed it with my snow mix in my new spray pen. (7 parts water, 1 part daisy white re-inker, 1 part pearl paint). I cut squares from my left over scrap B&T Duo papers and sponged the edges with white ink. I pieced the squares together leaving gaps between and leaving one space blank for the "snow" to show. I added cricut cut snowflakes from the Art Philosophy cartridge. I glued one to the surface of the card and the 2nd one is on a 3D foam piece to make it pop. The thank you sentiment was stamped in Crystal Blue ink and punched out with my circle punch. It is also on a 3D foam piece. Let me know what you think!

This inspiration to pair these colors together was from the current Heart 2 Heart Blog Challenge. You can play along too, just use your CTMH products to create a project.

Wonderland Layout H2H

I created this two page scrapbook page layout based upon the sketch Cheryl created for the Heart 2 Heart scrapbooking challenge.  I couldn't wait to cut into my "Wonderland" Kit with this! I was excited to use the zip strips for the two parallel details in the middle. They are just the right scale. There is still room to stamp a title after I find the photos that I want to use on this. I was able to work this layout to be ready to feature 2 horizontal 4x6 photos and 4 vertical 3x5 photos.

I made the edges of my photo mat cardstock pieces look snowed on or frosted with the use of the sanding technique. I used a nail file and sanded down the edges so that the white core would shine through along the sides. I was also excited to use my Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge to cut out snowflakes for embellishments. When I added the round sparkles to the middle of them it really made them pop.

Let me know what you think! Keep an eye on the sketch challenges on the Heart 2 Heart challenge Blog, maybe you will want to play along!

I will be hosting a Scrapbooking workshop in the new year using the Wonderland Kit. Let me know if you would like to attend! Just email me and I can give you more details.

Fancy Christmas Card

An inspirational photo and a sketch challenge is all I need to get right to work! That is why I created this fancy Christmas Card.

The layout was created based on the Mojo-Monday Card Sketch Challenge. I was excited to work on this sketch because I rarely think to use an oval. I used the scallop oval chipboard piece from my Art Philosophy Cricut Bundle. I used Pear ink to sponge the edges.

The colors and textures I used were based on the Inspiration photo from the Heart 2 Heart Challenge. I used papers and stamps from the "Believe" Kit. The pieces were left over after I created my Scrap Book Layouts. I added some sparkle with the large and small glittery red and pear brads from the "Jolly Twinkle Brads" I found in the While Supplies Last section of my website. The black ribbon with white polka-dots is from Michaels.

Let me know what you think! These challenges are so much fun and they help me to keep my card pile stocked! Maybe you want to play along too!

Wonderland Card H2H84

I was playing around with my "Wonderland" kit and decided to create a card with the leftover scraps from creating my Scrap Book Layouts. I really am in love with the mitten from the stamp set that comes with the kit. It is adorable!

I added some prisma glitter to it with the glue pen and cut in between the mittens and up under the string so that I could loop it over the "closeline". I glued the background mitten to the card base and then used the 3D foam tape to pop the foreground mitten. I love how it makes it appear to actually be hanging on the clothesline!

I followed the layout from the Heart 2 Heart Challenge Blog for the design. Follow my link to the H2H Blog to see what others have created with the same layout challenge. Maybe you want to play along too?
