Let me see what i have here.  

oh this is the smash book i started. can you believe it was an old microwave cook book?

well this is the inside cover and first page.  i was holding onto an old camelot calendar and now i have a place to use those wonderful images

and everyone know that a smash book is where you can keep your precious junk..lol  so here was a cand wrapper that i saved from wheni was 13 years old from my cousin in japan.( thats on the orange and pink page) the opposite page is one from my favorite magazine when i was young ( Wizard, for all those comic book fans)

one of my boys birthday party that we celebrated this summer.  i mean the napkins from the theme was art in itself i had to save one along with pics i printed out to make a custom coloring book as the thank you gift.

 ..this is what i have been arting since we were all huddled up in the house and could not go anywhere.  It was a struggle! Yes the house is messy my kids are not the only ones to blame...hehehe(shh i did not just admit that)  But as anyone who has ever had kids knows the feeling of just turning a blind eye..  I do find when i have been a little artistic that helps me open up more to keeping on task at home..isn't that weird?   hehe well that is my excuse and i'll run with it.  I have been arting while the kids have been sleeping which is no easy task when i want to curl up and do the same, but when i have the quiet time i have that urge to pick up pencil and paper.  I finished 2 more atc's that are on their way to the owner and i can show y'all since my friend is not a blogger but she is an awesome artist..  i am rather happy with them.    hope you like them as mush as i do.  and please your comments will be most welcome.  oh and i do reply! p.s.  click to view larger oh and visit artists in blogland image!

And this is my new project! a home made recycled Smash Book.  I am so excited about this project. now  i have a place to stick things that i dont want to let go but dont really have a place to put . I am getting there i have been working on my art journal too but have not had the chance to take pics may in the next day or 2.  Well now i have to wrangle up the kiddos and brush teeths because mom will be arting soon...I hope...hehe


I am adding this to creative every day ( and y'all should go check out everyone else whom has participated too, a little inspiration couldn't hurt)because i think i did well when everyone was down under  lol  and i was still able to create.  i am very proud of myself( can't you tell)  lol

This has been a very busy week with our big boy turning 8 and our middle son turning 6. I cannot believe how time flies.  I have been busy yes as mommy but i have also been journaling in the wee hours that i have time to myself.  I definitely do not look in the mirror the next day  lol.  i wanted to share some works i completed at the end of may.  these were little smash books for both my sons teachers for their end of the year present, which was greatly loved and fawned over. I was just thrilled they even new what they were, i think they were a smash(no pun.. you know what i mean).  I came up with the idea when i was browsing my local scrapbook store that i just discovered(which i had no idea was here for 2 years, oh the wasted time  hahaha  www.stickledpink.com ).  I didn't have much cash on me to buy the one from the store so i set out looking through all my scrap booking materials.  so these are filled with lots of goodness, stamps, pockets, postcards, note cards etc.  i actually used a catalogue that was made with very good paper and i used that as my base for the pages.  I know my binding could use some work, but this is a start for me.  Definitely my first time trying anything like this.  so i hope you get inspired, because i know i was.  Now go and be CREATIVE...Lilian
