Wow, three Sunday's in a row I've managed to get the sketch done for the day! That's a record for me these days. Regular features around here aren't so regular anymore, and that's a bummer for me. I know it's even more of a bummer for you since you are the ones who look forward to my features! I just haven't been able to bring myself to do a Scrap Stash Saturday card in weeks, but I don't know why. I think it's because I'm not feeling so creative lately, and you really have to be in a creative mindset to make a Scrap Stash Saturday card! Putting four non-matching papers together is taxing on the ol' creative mind, that's for sure!
But I'm happy to say, today's sketch came together really easily. Not just the sketch, but the layout, the papers, and the stamping. Ya gotta LOOOOOOVE that! The image that I stamped was inspired by the very talented Debbie Olson. I was looking in the SCS gallery today for more ideas on how to use my Silhouette Blooms stamp set from CHF when I ran across this beauty of Deb's. I mean, come on. This woman has more creative talent in her little finger than I do in my whole darn body! She ooooooozes artistic ability! Seriously. Anyways, her card is where I got the idea to use the bloom upside down instead of right side up. Just imagine these flowers hanging from a wooden peg drying out.
Now, I know you're gonna look at this sketch and freak out because it's blocking. But really, don't sweat it. I just took a bunch of scraps (matching) and cut them until they all fit on a white cardstock mat. I'm not gonna hold you to this particular patchwork pattern, ok? Just do whatever is easiest for you. As long as you patchwork, and as long as you use four different designer papers, I won't disown you. {{{{Gasp}}}}}. Did I just say four????? Yep, believe it or not, I did. I have four different papers on today's card. Actually, it's only 2 different sheets of paper, but I used the pattern on both sides on the paper. So, really, don't hyperventilate.
I can't wait to see your cards peeps! Be sure to upload your them to SCS using the code SSS3, ok?
Hugs,
Amy

Hey Amy! Great card! I just finished posting my Mojo Monday sketch and this is the first time I've had to check out your blog. And what do ya know, our sketches are pretty similar this week! Great minds think alike, huh? And I even used four different patterned papers on mine! LOL! Funny, I read your requirement and thought - THAT'S A LOT, and then I counted mine and I had four too! LOL! Looking forward to trying out your sketch! Hugs! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful image. What stamp is that? It is from the SU "blossoms abound" set that I am terrified to get because I won't do it justice? Hee hee.
ReplyDeleteLoved the card. Love your blog.
have a great week!
duh, even though I had read your post I didn't see the reference to the CHF set. So, I'll have to check that one out!
ReplyDeleteLove that card and the way you used the flower. This is my take on the sketch

Thanks
Amy, your card is awesome! I'm behind...ack! I have been doing your sketches on Sundays but it's now Monday...but I'll get it done!
ReplyDeleteWhen I first looked at your sketch I was SCARED! Not only did it require four pieces of patterned paper, but it had a patchwork layout and I've never done that before. Talk about stepping out of my comfort zone! But as usual, it wasn't painful and I really like how it turned out! Thanks for stretching me!
