Costa Rica

We were so excited to get to visit Grandpa and Grandma Haws in Costa Rica.  We timed it so when they close the Temple for maintenance the Temple workers get a small vacation.  Our first day we spent time at their home and got to see the Temple.  They live within walking distance to the Temple.

Our first trip was to Arenal.  This was the first place we stayed. They were super cute and had the hammocks right outside.  Everything was so green and the grounds were well maintained.

We took a hike in the rain forest near Arenal Volcano and across the hanging bridges.  The hike took us across 5 hanging bridges that were as high as 230 ft., beautiful waterfall, and a 500 yr old redwood tree.  It was raining a light misty rain the whole time that added to the awesome experience.

The Costa Ricans call these vines "tarzan swings".

Arenal Volcano.  We literally saw smoking coming from the cones.  It was pretty amazing!

Such a beautiful pasture at the base of Arenal Volcano.

We got the chance to do some ziplining right near Arenal Lake which made for a beautiful view.  One zipline was 1/2 mile long.  So much fun!

Driving to San Manuel we cross a bridge that has many crocodiles laying underneath.  Yikes, they were scary looking!

This was our beautiful view from our front porch.

We spent one day at the Manuel Antonio National Park which had beautiful white sandy beaches.  All along the trail leading to the beach we saw many monkies, iguanas, and a deer.  We had to watch out for these monkies on the beach since they will still your stuff/lunch.  It was such a beautiful place.

We had a great day at the beach, boogie boarding, catamaran ride seeing dolphins, snorkeling, watching a beautiful sunset, and being with family!
