Hello Kitty Ornaments for Hale Anuenue

Happy Hump Day! Whew, I'll be glad when this week is over. Moving office is taking a toll on me.

At our last FCE club meeting we decided to once again decorate a HUGE Christmas tree at Hale Anuenue (nursing home) among other things. We chose an Asian theme. I really scored when I went to Island Scrapbooking to find this die on sale. Cha-ching....I had to get it. One of the girls suggested making an ornament using Japanese characters. So with that in mind, I incorporated both along with origami paper and came up with these. Jenny (Crazy for Paper) will think I'm nuts because I had to cut two pieces for each ornament. Jenn, I made 23 ornaments. It was suppose to be 24 but I messed up on one. Whew, that took a long time. In fact, I think I pulled a muscle on my shoulder cranking out so many Hello Kitty's and had to use Tokuhon...stinky stuff. I'm all better now. LOL.

Happy Birthday Mom

My mom's birthday is coming up next week and I wanted to make a special card for her. I've been wanting to make a card using lace but haven't been out much since I fractured my ankle. Getting around wearing the big and heavy "boot" is quite cumbersome.

Well, I had to go to Wal-Mart yesterday and bought this pretty lace there. Looks pretty elegant yah? I hope mom likes the card.

Tags for Charlotte

My tag partner this month was Charlotte. She received them today and I'm so happy she liked them. She especially loved the Big Scalloped Circle die which I recently got from Island Scrapbooking.

Since we've become partners just a few weeks ago, we've emailed each other several times. Gee, I feel like I've know her all my life now. And what a coincidence that we graduated from the same high school just 3 years apart. How neat is that?

Hey, I just checked Island Scrapbooking's blog and Michele just got in a shipment of new Spellbinder dies. Ohhhhhh WOW!!! :-)

Chirstmas Tags from Charlotte

Awww, look at the cute Xmas tags I got from my partner, Charlotte. They're so sweet.

I'm so happy we were partners because it turns out we graduated from the same high school though 3 years apart. Despite here very, very hectic schedule, she managed to make these tags and mail them to me so quickly. I started and hope to mail them to her soon.

Thanks Charlotte. :)

And More Cards for Hospice

Do you believe in "blessings in disguise?" I sure do. After fracturing my ankle when our pooch, Buddy knocked me off my feet, I was fortunate enough to work from home. Now it'll be a permanent thing. YEAAAHHH. Once I can get rid of the cumbersome"boot" I'm wearing, I plan to buy him a HUGE munchy bone as his "reward." LOL. I'll be spending the weekend cleaning up to make space for my new desk. Yippee!!!

Here are the final 3 cards our club will be making to donate to Hospice.

More cards for Hospice

Hope you're all enjoying the nice L-O-N-G weekend. We just returned from Oahu last night after attending my niece's wedding. It was a very short trip. The wedding was held at the Pearl Country Club and the food was soooooo YUMMY. That's the best Prime Rib I had in a years. In fact, my hubby and son HAD TO go for seconds. By the end of the evening they were hurting from eating so much. LOL. I should've taken a picture of the painful look on their faces. :-)

I can't walk long distances with my "boot" as I'm still recovering from my fractured ankle. It's a good thing I requested a wheelchair at both airports. I was quite reluctant as I don't like to be "in the spotlight" but very glad I did.

Here are another couple of cards our club will be making to donate to Hospice.
