Fall!

I'm gearing up for Halloween, which is a holiday I was never really super excited about as a kid, but now I LOVE it! I love all the costumes, carving pumpkins, and especially the fun decorations! Oh, I'm also a fan of candy corn, those little creme pumpkins, spiced pumpkin seeds, and warm mulled cider! Mmmmm yummy! :)
My son and I took a trip to Boston just the other day, and here are a few photos from our outing... It was a beautiful fall day! Just chilly enough for a sweater, and the leaves in the park were starting to cover the ground. (Which my son had some fun with!) Enjoy!

Museum of Fine Arts - Boston

I went to the MFA on Friday... A short excursion while my son was at school! It was so relaxing to be by myself in the museum (aside from all the college kids and high schoolers on field trips!), and take the time to read the fine print on the different exhibits... To be able to really stop and look at the art. It was SO inspiring and just a great experience. It's been so long since I've been to the museum... That has to change!

Here's a photo I took of an amazing installation in the hallway of the museum. It's by an artist named Jim Lambie and you can CLICK HERE to read all about the artist and what he has to say about his work and the installation! CHECK IT OUT! (An article from the MFA website)

Little Cuties...

These are the promo items I sent to the store Oak in Boston. They will be (hopefully!) distributed to customers along with their store purchase... along with items from other artists. Exciting!! ;D

I've been wanting to make something like this for a while. I'm mostly happy with the way they came out. 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" mini-notecards with 3" x 3" handmade origami paper envelopes.

Look for them in my shop soon!

I'm in the Boston Sampler!!

I recently sent in 25 cards to the Boston Sampler. They make up boxes of craft goodies donated by various artists and mail them out! (Exciting!)

Here's a blurb from the Sampler website:
City Sampler: Boston features items exclusively from crafters, DIYers and awesome businesses in the Boston Area! We've put together 100 Boston City Samplers, each one featuring a selection of at least 10 of the items below. There is also info from Magpie, The Boston Derby Dames, Cambridge Local First, and The Bazaar Bizarre.
City Sampler: Boston will be for sale in the Sampler Shop at 9am EST on February 16th. If you are in the Boston area, please come to our party at Spark Craft Studios on the 16th from 2pm - 6pm. Each City Sampler sold at the party will also come with a free limited edition tote bag. All Sampler products will be available for sale, and there will be free goodie bags, prizes and food.
A huge THANKS to Spark Craft Studios and Greenward for helping make this all possible!

Check out some photos of the donated items on the Boston Sampler Flickr Page!
