Hip Kit Club: Product Focus - Delightful Collection

 Hi Friends!

Welcome back for more Hip Kit Club awesomeness!

Today I am shining the product spotlight on the gorgeous Hip Kit Club exclusive Delightful collection! It's no secret how much I love Kim & Kimberly's exclusive designs, and the pretties featured in the June 2021 Hip Kits really have my heart!!! From superbly patterned papers to vellum sticker butterflies, wood veneer buttons, fabric bows and so much more - well, let's just say it's just lucky I had a grid design to showcase them all, lol! Here's what I created,

"Summer"

Oh my heart!

Grids are always for the win, but the striking color scheme combined with all those Delightful embellishments really made this page come to life! So wondrous! I've also mixed in a few bits & pieces from the Pinkfresh Studio: Happy Blooms line . I am always in awe of how perfectly coordinated the Hip Kits are! Seriously, from papers to embellishments and even the cardstock - everything is always so expertly curated to ensure crafting success!  I love the combination of Delightful with Happy Blooms, and as such, I really let them play off one another.

Let's take a better look at my page...

As a scrapbooker, beautifully designed patterned papers are always my first love!  So needless to say, I just had to start my layout with my fave Delightful paper, Watermelon Ice. The striking black and white stripes design is so impressive! It really draws you into the page! This paper also contrasts beautifully with the pastel pretties and Summer brights of the rest of the page. I layered an 11" x 11" white cardstock base over the Watermelon Ice, courtesy of the June 2021 Cardstock Kit, to form that fabulous border trim. For the 'grid' design, I trimmed the B side of Hip Kit Club's Delightful: Lemon Parfait as well as Pinkfresh Studio's Happy Blooms: Blossom paper into 3inch squares.

I arranged the patterned paper squares into horizontal rows, ensuring that I left the center row free for my title. Once happy, I messily machine stitched them into place before adding my sweet photos and all those pretty embellishments. You'll spy that each square is adorned with a mix of the stunning Delightful Fabric Bows, Wood Veneer Buttons, Ephemera, & Vellum Sticker Butterflies.

Let's take a better look at those decorated squares...

So.much.gorgeousness!!!

When it came to my title, I just couldn't get past that lovely yellow 'Summer' from the Delightful Chipboard Words. It really packs a punch!

For finishing touches, I used a few of the Delightful Clear Stickers from the June 2021 Embellishment Kit. The typewriter font phrases added the perfect amount of journaling to complete my page! And there you have it! Hip Kit Club's Delightful collection is truly spotlight worthy - SO good! I hope my project has inspired you to get creating with the beautiful Hip Kits!

Hip Kit Club: Color Kit Fun!

Hi Friends!

Welcome back for more Hip Kit Club inspiration!

Today I have a fun December 2020 Color Kit layout to share with you all! If you're familiar with my creating, you'll already know how much I absolutely LOVE Shimmerz Paints! No surprises that I was over the moon excited to see one of my all time favorite Inklingz in the December Color Kit - Oakie Bear Blue! Oh.my.heart! Don't even get me started on my obsession with intensely pigmented blue paints!  Needless to say, Inklingz Oakie Bear Blue takes center stage in today's painty post.

Here's what I created...

"SO Happy"

Whoa!!! SO very happy, indeed! From that darling photo to those painty hues and those brightly colored stripes - this layout is all kinds of happy! As well as the beautiful December 2020 Color Kit paints, I have also featured the December 2020 Main Scrapbook and Embellishment Kit. So much gorgeousness! Let's take a closer look...

Those torn and distressed paper trims at the top of my page are errrrything!  Both patterns are from the Keeping Cozy: My Happy Place paper & clearly I had difficulty choosing a favorite! Not only do they act as an anchor to balance out all the color at the base of my page, but the contrast between spots and stripes really creates a visual point of interest. Spots and stripes for the win! Yay!

I framed my sweet photo with one of the fabulous Keeping Cozy Chipboard Stickers, then layered it onto another Chipboard Sticker, and a bed of black and white Floral Ephemera die cuts from the Embellishment Kit. So simple and yet, such effective and lovely layers of interest!

But it's that mixed media layer that I just can't stop looking at! It was sooooooo much fun to create! I started by masking off the cardstock with some old washi tape from my stash at the 6 inch mark. I then added lots, and lots, of water below the masked area before using a dropper to apply the Inklingz Oakie Bear Blue color. I allowed the paint to swirl into the water pools and react, and then dried it all off with a heat gun.

I then used a round tip paint brush to apply the Shimmerz Christmas Cheer gold paint around the blue areas. Once applied, I held the cardstock up vertically & sprayed the paint with lots of water to encourage more of that drippy paint appearance. I dried this off, and repeated the same application  process  for the Inklingz Naughty or Nice color. LOVE it!

I added a few  paint splatters by flicking my paint brush over my mixed media background, and once all my paint was dry I removed the washi tape to reveal that perfectly straight edge.

I created a mixed font title with the Keeping Cozy Black Puffy Alphabet Stickers & Puffy Word Stickers from the Embellishment Kit. I also scattered some sweet black stars from the  Let's Celebrate Clear Stickers, as well as sprinkled some of the Main Kit Keeping Cozy: Enamel Dots. For a finished look, I added a few hearts, and some colored cotton thread from my sewing supplies.

So very striking and SO happy! I really hope that my playful, mixed media layout has inspired you to get a lil paint today!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hip Kit Club: Product Focus & Process Video!

 Hi  Friends!

Welcome back for more Hip Kit Club inspiration!

Today I am shining the product spotlight on two of my favorite items from the December 2020 Hip Kits! First is the amazing Keeping Cozy Cardstock & Foil Bows from the December 2020 Embellishment Kit  - 'cos who doesn't love a good bow? They are SO sweet!

And the second item is the divine floral pattern paper from the Main & Paper Kits,  which is aptly called, Pretty Floral. You'll also find a process video at the end of today's post too!

But first, let's take a look see at what I've created with these two fabulous products!

"Winter Fun"

Oh how darling is this?! I told you that the Pretty Floral paper was just divine!!! Absolutely swooning over those fussy cut blooms! Let's take a better look...

Wow! Simple, elegant and so full of playful whimsy for my two children! As the pattern paper, Pretty Floral, is part of my product focus for today's post, I decided to use it 3 ways on my layout.

First, I fussy cut those florals and arranged them in a heart design to layer my photos onto. This floral heart feature really draws attention into my sweet photos - love it! Second, I took another sheet of this paper and used it's reverse side for my black & white plaid base. This is exactly why you need both the Main Scrapbook Kit AND the Pattern Paper Kit - being able to use both sides of a pattern paper makes creating a dream! And thirdly, I used the pretty peach branding strip to create the appearance of another paper layer behind my White Bazzill cardstock.  Such fun ideas to maximize this gorgeous paper!

Tiny bows are always for the win!  I created a faux kite string connecting to my floral heart to showcase these beautiful little bows! This really enhanced the playful vibe & childhood innocence of the layout.  The Cardstock & Foil Bows are truly a sweet embellishment!

For added whimsy and fun, I  featured the large Keeping Cozy Chipboard Stickers, Winter Fun, for my  title.

The Keeping Cozy Enamel Dots were the perfect embellishment to complete my page with! If you'd like a more detailed look at how I created this page, please watch my process video below:

Thanks so much for watching!

I really hope you enjoyed my video & product focus post today!

Hip Kit Club: Merry Everything Inspiration!

 Hi Creative Friends!

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!!!

Today I am sharing my take on the Hip Kit Club's Weekly Challenge! This time it's a super fun color challenge....

Both the November & December Hip Kits are brimming with these divine colors, and I couldn't wait to get creating for this challenge!

I have been so smitten by the super cute Russian Nesting Dolls featured in the November Hip Kits, that I decided to make some of my own for today's layout.

Here's what I crafted,

"Merry & Bright"

Oh how adorable is this?!!! So cute 'n' fun! Those Russian Nesting Dolls are the BEST chipboard stickers I've ever seen! Love 'em! With so many beautiful pattern papers in the November 2020 Main Kit, and the challenge colors in mind, I just had to feature them for my larger, fussy cut & hand stitched Russian Dolls.

Let's take a closer look at them...

SO super cute!!! I quickly made up a doll template by drawing a bowling skittle with a circle on top. I traced around these templates and cut out all the pattern paper pieces in red, blue & pink papers. For the doily aprons, I used a metal die from my stash & cut out both a White and a Quartz doily courtesy of the November Cardstock Kit.

For the doll faces, I used Light Kraft Cardstock from the October 2020 Cardstock Kit, and drew in the eyes and mouths. I fussy cut out the doll hair from a black 3" x 4" journal card from the November 2020 Pocket Life Kit. For the larger doll, I used pink sequins for her cheeks and for the smaller one, I used a hole punched on some pink paper, both of which are from the November Main Kit. So simple, and yet such a fun use of these supplies!

As the pattern papers are so detailed, I opted for a chunky straight stitch to outline my dolls, and give them even more of that handmade feel. I embellished them with a few supplies from my sewing box, as well as those sweet blue Puffy Stickers.

As the largest nesting doll always holds all the 'babies' inside, it seemed only fitting that my large doll feature my babies on it. I framed my children's photograph with that striking Merry Everything Chipboard Sticker Wreath, and foam mounted it onto my doll. So sweet!

Surrounding my Russian Nesting Dolls, and completing my scene, are more of the Merry Everything Chipboard  Stickers. This time, I've backed the stickers with golden twine, and created the appearance of hanging ornaments - so cool! I used the Merry Everything Puffy Phrase Stickers for my layout title, and then filled the remaining white space with a mix of star stickers, and vellum from the November Embellishment Kit

For finishing touches, I added some sequins from the Main Kit too. Love it!

The November Hip Kits are really stunning!

I hope my Russian Nesting Dolls page has inspired you to get a little creative with your Hip Kits, and play along with this week's challenge! Please be sure to share your projects with us in the Hip Kit Club Group HERE - we truly love seeing what everyone creates with the beautifully curated Hip Kits!

Hip Kit Club: Christmas Cardmaking!

Hi Friends!

Welcome back for more Hip Kit Club inspiration!

I can't wait to share my super cute, mood board inspired, Christmas cards with you all! My November 2020 Hip Kits have just arrived, and let me tell you, they are even more beautiful in real life! Super stunning! I couldn't resist using them instantly - but before I share my cards, here's a quick look at the December mood board.....

Wow, so pretty! Really gorgeous for the Holidays!

I was particularly inspired by the colors, Christmas & Winter themes and the sense of magic and wonder!  Here's the card trio this mood board inspired....

Oh, how festive and fun! Adore these!

When it comes to creating quick & pretty cards, layering is the key! The 3"x6" note cards in the November 2020 Pocket Life Kit were the perfect size to mimic the new slim line card trend, and I used them to form the base layers for all 3 of my cards.

To support these slim bases, I trimmed my exclusive Hip Kit Club: Merry Everything pattern papers to 6.5" x 7",  scored them at 3.5" and folded to create my 3.5" x 6.5" slim line style cards. I have featured the B sides of pattern papers, All Wrapped Up!, Jolly Good Sweater, & PomPoms - which you can see more closely in the November 2020 Paper Kit HERE.

I foam mounted the 3"x6" notecards to their pattern paper cards, and then embellished each note card with one of the tags included in Pocket Life Kit Cardstock Die Cuts pack. For added dimension and to really make the layered look more noticeable, I also foam mounted the tags.

When it came to dressing up my tags, I opted for a variety of Chipboard Stickers (from the November Embellishment Kit) as they not only looked amazing, but also, continued to build up my layers with their shape & dimension.

For finishing touches I embellished around my layered focal clusters with Cardstock Stickers and those sparkly sequins from the November Main Scrapbook Kit.

Simple. Beautiful. And oh so easy to create!

Make these cards, and a ton more Festive Greetings with your November & or, December 2020 Hip Kits!

I hope my post today has inspired you! Thanks so much for looking!

Hip Kit Club: July 2020 Hip Kits - Card Trio

Hi Friends!

Welcome back for some Hip Kit Club July 2020 Kits inspiration!
Today I am sharing a super sweet card trio with the stunning July 2020 Main & Embellishment Kits! My DT assignment was to create cards that included stamping, stitching & fussy cutting, yay! So.much.fun! I love to get a lil inky & couldn't resist focusing on the
This stamp set is so versatile and perfect for all kinds of crafty projects, but enough chatter, here's what I came up with......

HKC-AmandaBaldwin-Aug22nd-Blog-01

Oh my heart! Could they get any sweeter?!! And talk about focusing on the Bring on the Sunshine stamp - wow! That tiny lil stamp has made a very big debut on this card trio! Creating your own custom pattern papers from stamps is such a fun, easy & effective technique to incorporate more stamping into your creating.
To keep my cards looking like a coordinating set I maintained a similar design & focal point. Each card features a foam mounted, stamped & machine stitched background with a dominant Crate Paper: Maggie Holmes Sweet Story Delights Dimensional Embellishment (rosette) in the bottom left hand side. I embellished each card with a Simple Stories: Kate&Ash Chipboard Sticker. For the fussy cutting element, I used florals from the Pebbles: Jen Hadfield Hey Hello: Happy Day paper on each card too! Other than these key design elements, each card has it's own unique look and feel. Let's take a closer look...

HKC-AmandaBaldwin-Aug22nd-Blog-02

Sigh! Sooooo pretty! Shades of pink with mint & teal is a favorite color scheme of mine, and I  just had to use them for these sweet cards! I selected larger blooms from the fussy cut Happy Day paper, as well as some of the Echo Park Paper: Dive Into Summer Enamel Dotsto adorn these cards. Here's a close up view of them...

HKC-AmandaBaldwin-Aug22nd-Blog-03

So sweet!
To create the card base, I trimmed the Pink Paislee: Any Many More paper #11to 8" x 6", and scored down the 4" mark to create a 4" x 6" card. On a 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" sheet of smooth white cardstock, I repeat stamped the camera icon in mint colored stamping ink & machine stitched around the edges. I foam mounted this pretty camera cardstock onto my card base to create some extra dimension and interest. I glued the large fussy cut bloom into place, and then layered the Sweet Story rosette in the left hand corner. The Kate&Ash Chipboard Stickerswere the perfect addition for my card sentiments, and the soft pink Enamel Dots completed the card. Simple, but oh-so-lovely!

HKC-AmandaBaldwin-Aug22nd-Blog-04

I used the same approach for this darling card, only this time I used the B side of the gorgeous Dear Lizzy: Here & Now Hot, Hot, Hot paper for the base. I repeat stamped the picture perfect stamp in black ink, and added a few different embellishments. You'll spot the Pink Paislee: 5th & Monaco Mixed Embellishment sequins, as well as one of theSweet Story Sticker Book stickers - both from the July 2020 Embellishment Kit. So cool!

HKC-AmandaBaldwin-Aug22nd-Blog-05

This card is actually my favorite from the trio - the rich, warm yellow stamped background makes me feel so happy! That Sun Shine stamp is errrrything!!! I used the same design principles as my two previous cards, but this time I opted for tiny fussy cut florals, with a larger Chipboard Sticker bloom instead. The Sweet Story butterfly sticker is a cute addition to this bright & happy card. Love it!

HKC-AmandaBaldwin-Aug22nd-Blog-06

And there you have it!
Simple, easy to create, but oh-so-pretty cards made with the gorgeous July 2020 Hip Kits!
I hope you'll give stamped, stitched and fussy cut featured cards a try!
Be sure to share them with us in the Hip Kit Club Facebook Group HERE - I can't wait to see what you'll create!
