Poppies

Well hello there Monday afternoon! We are back from vacation and the kids are back to school. When we left Arizona it was 94 degrees there and today- Minnesota has blizzard warnings. . . this seems to be the winter that never ends! I'm huddled inside near my fireplace, stamping away (so that's something to celebrate!) and started with today's Clean and Simple challenge on SCS. I took the inspiration picture quite literally and dug out my Poppies stamp set by There She Goes. I colored one of the larger poppies with my Spectrum Noir markers using the spotlight technique and then layered it all up on some red and black card stock. Quick, easy and clean and simple!

Thanks for stopping by!

stamps: Poppies (There She Goes)
ink: memento tuxedo black (Tsukineko)
paper: basic black, whisper white, cherry cobbler (SU!)
accessories: Spectrum Noir markers; circle nestabilities (Spellbinders); red polka dot ribbon (Bazzill); honeycomb embossing folder (SU!)

Happy Birthday Sweet Pea!

It's a Birthday Blog Hop for Jessica Knutsen, the owner of There She Goes clear stamps! I had the privilege of being a junior trendsetter for TSG back in 2010 and I just loved getting to know Jessica and her team! (Her stamps are fabulous too). A few of her current team members organized this little cyber party for her and I was grateful to be asked to participate.

My card features one of my favorite TSG sets, Sweet Pea. I colored my sweet peas with my Copics and then used some Kaiser Craft Fine and Sunny DP to layer it up.

There is lots of fabulous inspiration to be had at this little party so get to hoppin'!

Thanks for stopping by!

There She Goes Mother of All Blog Hops!

Hi my friends and Happy Mother's Day to all of you moms out there! The card I am sharing with you today features the TSG set Bear Hugs.

I colored my bear with my Copics and trimmed him out. Then I layered him on a sizzix tag that I embossed with polka dots. My sentiment is also from the Bear Hugs set and I used my SU! oval punches to cut it out. My DP is from Echo Park's For the Record Collection.

Thanks so much for stopping by and now head over to Tammy's blog for more There She Goes goodness :)

Clean and Simple Chemistry

My daughter is starting high school in a few weeks and she just received her class schedule in the mail. She immediately emailed her schedule to all of her friends so they could see what classes they would have together. I remember those days! My favorite classes were math and science (yep- I was a geek!) and this stamp set from There She Goes is one of my very favorites! I used it today as part of the clean and simple Design Team challenge. I colored my beakers and test tubes with my Copic sketch markers and trimmed them out. I used my modern label punch for the sentiment and added some silver baubles and a silk bow for texture.

We completed all of our school supply shopping over the weekend and the kids all have new shoes to start the school year (ooo I can't wait- but don't tell them that!)

Thanks for stopping by!

ink: memento tuxedo black (Tsukineko)
paper: Copic medium blending white; basic black (SU!)

My friend the Featured Stamper!

Hip, hip, hooray for Cathleen! Cathleen is this week's featured stamper and she is also my fellow i {heart} papers design team member!! I have been in her gallery many times before and am always awed by her projects! It was very hard to choose just one but I chose this card of hers to CASE. I basically kept everything the same and just changed the stamps and colors. I just love the layout and went with some Spearmint Memory Box paper for my color palette. I used the stamp set "Bloom" from There She Goes and water colored my blossoms with SU! markers. I used a new (to me) Martha Stewart border punch, some crepe ribbon and a couple of dew drops for my finishing touches.

Thanks for stopping by!

paper: Spearmint DP (Memory Box); watercolor paper (Canon); soft suede (SU!)

It's finally here! The There She Goes Mother of all Blog Hops!! I hope you have arrived here from Anita's blog (wasn't her creation great?!) but if you just happened along, please go back to the There She Goes blog to get the introduction to our hop as well as the information you will need in order to enter to win some exciting prizes! There are 50 participants in the hop so there will be some fabulous inspiration! So, let's get started!
The set I am featuring is called Hunny Bunnies. Yes, it does have some great Easter themed images but it also has some general ones too. For my card I used the little chick and the sentiment "Oh for peeps sake" to make a belated birthday card! I used Jen's fabulous sketch for you to try as my layout and the DP is from October Afternoon's Thrift Shop collection. My little "peeps" are stamped in versafine vintage sepia ink and then colored with prismacolor pencils and gamsol.

Thanks for stopping by now hop on over to Piali's blog  for some more TSG goodness!

Sit Awhile

Now that soccer season has started (once again) for our four children, I can only DREAM of sitting on a park bench like this cute one and relaxing! Unfortunately, all of our children have games on Monday's and Wednesday nights so my husband and I will constantly be going in different directions! Yes, we've done this to ourselves but they so enjoy soccer and are actually pretty good at it {wink}!

My card uses the cute new set from There She Goes called Spring Fever. I stamped my park bench in memento rich cocoa and then sponged around it with Dusty Durango ink. This week's TSG challenge is to use paper or ribbon pleating on your project. I did some messy ribbon pleating alongside my bench and added a buttony bow to complete it! You can enter your creation here on the There She Goes blog for a chance to win some $ to the TSG store!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hey Sweet Pea!

I had a chance to stamp a bit during nap time this afternoon and came across a fabulous color combination on the There She Goes blog! I also had some new TSG stamps from their last release that hadn't even been out of their shipping envelope yet, so it was meant to be! I stamped the sweet pea flowers in memento tuxedo black and used my prismacolor pencils and OMS to color them in. Then I used the labels 11 nestabilities to cut them out. I know I have mentioned before that I know nothing about flowers {except that they look pretty and smell good} so please don't be offended if I've given these flowers an unreal hue. I just wanted to stick to the color theme {grin}. See the pretty rhinestones next to the flowers? Those are another new toy that I just got! My husband gave me a gift certificate to Michael's for Valentine's Day and I've been hoarding it for just the right thing. Well, this week, there was also a 50% off coupon so I went and bought a Hotfix Crystal tool and some swarovski crystals. OMGosh are they sparkly! I love them and will use them a lot I'm sure!

Thanks for stopping by again today!

stamps: Sweet Pea (TSG)
ink: memento tuxedo black (Tsukineko)

Knock, Knock

Hey there! Welcome to the last day of sneak peeks from There She Goes! I hope you have arrived from Jessica's blog, but if not go back there to start at the beginning. The Trendsetters are featuring 2 new sets today, Hunny Bunnies and Bear Hugs. After you are done with the hop and have left comments for each of the Trendsetters, go back to the There She Goes blog and enter your name in the Mr. Linky for a chance to win these sets for your own! Tomorrow night is the release party in the There She Goes Forum where the winners will be announced and the sets will be available for purchase!

Knock, knock. Who's there? Cow. Cow who? Cow in the carwash (said loudly and with great enthusiasm). That is the joke that my youngest son made up when he was about 4. It makes no sense yet everytime he says it, the whole family bursts out laughing! Isn't that what family is for? So my card today is dedicated to him and his wonderful sense of humor! This set is called Hunny Bunnies and is full of awesome Easter themed images like crosses, bunnies and chicks. There is also some traditional and some cute little sentiments to go along with the images.  I colored my chick with prismacolor pencils and OMS and added some crystal effects to the shell for a bit of shine. The size of my card is only 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 so it will be easy to slip under his pillow or into his lunch box!

This is my last hop as a There She Goes Trendsetter and I have to say that I've had a lot of fun! Thank you Jessica for the opportunity to promote your wonderful stamps and thanks to all of you that have visited and commented on my blog because of There She Goes! I hope you'll be back to visit - I know that I will be a frequent shopper at There She Goes!

Thanks for stopping by and now make your way over to Holly's blog for some more eye candy! Before you go, I'll leave you with my favorite joke! What is a polar bear's favorite food?

A burrrrrrrito!!

One Cupcake at a time!

Isn't that a great mantra to live by?! Especially if it's chocolate cake?! Today the Trendsetters are featuring the new set "Make a Wish" by There She Goes. I hope you have come from Jessica's blog, if not go back there and start at the beginning! This set is HUGE and has some great sentiments along with fabulous party images! It includes everything you'll need for birthday themed projects.

To get me started, I chose a layout from my sketch notebook. (It is one of Jen del Muro's sketch for you to try from this month). I stamped my cupcake 3 times and colored them all alike with my Copics then layered them together in the paper tolle technique. Every cupcake needs tasty frosting and I made mine sparkly! The "Yum" circles are also from the set and fit in a 1" circle punch just perfectly! My sentiment is stamped in rich cocoa ink and then punched out with my SU! oval punches. The rest is all just layers- just like a cake (grin)! Hope I've made you hungry for more (giggle) so head over to Holly's blog to see what she has cooked up with this set!

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to leave all of us Trendsetters comments and then enter your name in the Mr Linky on the There She Goes blog for your chance to win a "Make A Wish" set of your own! One random winner will be chosen at the release party on Saturday night!

There She Goes!

It's time for another release from There She Goes! I hope you have come from the There She Goes diva herself, Jessica's blog, if not start there so you don't miss anything! Today the Trendsetters are featuring 2 new sets, Dance and Beautiful Spring. Both are mini sets and will sell for $7. The Dance set, which I chose to work with today, was created in honor of Jessica's friend, Linda, who passed away earlier this year from Amyloidosis. Four dollars from each set sold will be donated to the Amyloidosis Support Group in Linda's name!
The sentiment in this set is just so fitting for anyone going through a tough time. I stamped my sentiment in chocolate chip ink right onto my DP so it's a bit hard to read in the picture but it has subtle beauty in real life! It reads "Dance like no one is watching. Laugh it's medicine for the soul. Love like you've never been hurt. Live like it's heaven on earth." I wanted the verse to be the focal point of my card and I chose this shimmery DP from SEI to add just a bit more color. The flowers are also from this set and I stamped them in taken with teal ink on taken with teal card stock, cut them out and popped them up. I painted a layer of opal shimmer over them to match the DP. The trim on the bottom of the card is like a velour lace that I found in a craft store up north.

Thanks for stopping by and now head over to Holly's blog for another fabulous creation! Remember to leave each of the Trendsetters a comment on their blogs for your chance to win a "Dance" or "Beautiful Spring" set of your own! Enter your name in the Mr Linky on the There She Goes blog when you are done and a random winner will be chosen at the release party on Saturday night!

paper: chocolate chip, taken with teal (SU!); DP by SEI

It's a Boy and a Girl

Today's challenge on the There She Goes blog is to use the same stamp images and create a masculine card and a feminine card. I chose one of the images from the new set ROFL Taglines to work with.

For my masculine card I chose a striped DP and a layout with straight and simple lines. I colored my car with blue and black Copic markers and then added some crackle accents to the windshield and head lights. I matted the car with card stock and pierced around the edges. I also distressed the DP to give it a rough look. I really like to add ribbon to my cards, even the masculine ones, and chose a chocolate brown color and tied it in a simple knot. To balance the layout I placed 3 silver brads in the lower right hand corner. The inside of the card is finished with the sentiment "not screaming, like the passengers in his car"! I imagine this could be a good card for the day after a night of partying?!

For the feminine version of this card, I chose some flowered DP and a layout with some softer lines. (This layout is actually last week's MOJO Monday sketch) I love the soft blue in the DP but wanted to make it "pop" so I paired it with some tangerine tango card stock and ribbon. I again colored my car with Copic markers but chose colors that weren't necessarily real life colors of a car. (I have never seen a light blue and orange car, have you?) I added some mirror backed baubles for the head lights and cut the image into a circle with a scalloped edge. I used my sewing machine to add some feminine stitching to the main image panel. For the sentiment I used a fancy tag and some more mirror backed baubles as accents. I again added some ribbon but tied a bow instead of a knot. For the sentiment, I only inked a small portion of it and then added the rest of the saying to the inside of the card.

Now it's your turn! Just make two identical cards using the same images but different colors and/or embellishments to create one with a masculine feel and one with a feminine feel. Then upload your projects to your blog or online gallery using the keyword TSG42. Add your name to the Mr. Linky on the TSG blog for your chance to win $5 to the There She Goes online store!

Thanks for stopping by and come back tomorrow for an i {heart} papers challenge!

A Spring Tree

It is snowing buckets here today and we are expectd to get between 6 and 12 inches! I needed a bit of "spring in the air" and so I turned to SCS to get me in the stamping mood. Today's clean and simple challenge has to do with candy!! Browse this site and pick a candy for inspiriation! Yummy! I chose snaps for my inspiration! I love those things but if I eat too many I get a tummy ache (I guess that's true with anything you eat though, huh? Maybe I just need to use a bit more self control!) Anyways, I used the bright snap colors as the flower colors for my tree. I used a tiny flower punch from the Target dollar spot and added some silver brads to their middles. I pleated my ribbon with some super sticky red line tape and addded a button to finish off my card.

In case you are wondering- the shoe shopping went really well and my husband found 2 PAIR of dress shoes in about 2 hours! I know you are as relieved as my children are :)

Thanks for stopping by!

A Mini Valentine

The challenge this week on the There She Goes blog is to make an ATC. An ATC, artist trading card, is a 2.5" x 3.5" card. I wanted to play some more with my Chemistry set, so I decided to make a tiny Valentine that would fit in my son's lunch box! I colored my tube of hearts with my Copic markers and then added some cotton candy and frosted lace stickles to some of the hearts. I then layered it on a piece of Bittersweet DP that I embellished with a ribbon and some tiny brads. I layered all of that on a piece of 2.5" x 3.5" piece of kraft card stock. And there you go, a Valentine ATC!

You still have time to play along with us on the There She Goes blog! All you need to do is link up your ATC to this post for a chance to win $5 to the There She Goes online store. The winner will be announced on Monday February 8th.

Thanks for stopping by!

Chemistry

It's the last day of sneak peeks from There She Goes! Today's set is called Chemistry and it was designed by Michele (who is a chemistry teacher) and will make great cards for the ones you love! I hope you came here from Dawn's blog but if you didn't, go back to the There She Goes blog to start at the beginning so you don't miss anything! Michele is joining us too for this hop so be sure and stop by and say "hi"!
For my card today I started with this week's MOJO Monday sketch and made a circle card. I cut my scalloped circle with a SU! sizzix die and then used my circle cutter for the brown and DP mats. I wanted my scalloped circle to have all of it's nice little scallops intact but still have the card a "card" and not a postcard- so I layered it on top of a brown circle card base that actually opens (get what I'm thinkin'?). I colored my potion flasks with my Copic markers and, using my mini glue gun again, I attached some ribbon and buttons. My heart on one of the flasks is colored in with a spica glitter pen for a little sparkle. I seem to ALWAYS add sparkle, huh? I also decorated the inside with the sentiment "I love you beyond measure" cute huh?

Would you like to win your own set of Chemistry? All you need to do is visit all of the Trendsetter's blogs and leave each of them a comment (including Michele and I!). Then return to the There She Goes blog and enter your name in the Mr Linky. A random winner will be chosen during the release party chat on Saturday night!

Thanks for stopping by now hop on over to Holly's blog to see what she has cooked up on her bunsen burner! {wink}

"beyond measure"
stamps: Chemistry (TSG)
ink: memento rich cocoa (Tsukineko)
paper: chocolate chip, riding hood red (SU!); sweet blush, white (PTI); heart DP (Basic Grey); polka dot DP (MM)
accessories: markers, glitter pen (Copic); ribbon, scallop circle die (SU!); buttons (Rhonna Ferrar); circle cutter (CM); scallop scissors (Fiskars)

Rolling on the Floor Laughing!

Welcome to another day of sneak peeks from There She Goes! Today's set is ROFL Taglines and if you didn't get here from Dawn's blog then go back to the There She Goes blog to start so you don't miss anything! I just love this set and Jessica's sense of humor!! It will have you ROFL! I had a hard time choosing which image and sentiment to use first so I'm sure you will be seeing a lot of this set in the weeks to come {wink}.

I colored my high heels with my Copics and prismacolor pencils then added some glitter for sparkle and popped them up. If you are going to wear shoes that are too tight they should look fabulous don't you think?! My DP is from SEI and I scored a whole pack of it on the clearance rack! I have a little tip to share with you too- (I don't remember whose blog I got this from but it's a good one) I used to use glue dots to adhere my buttons and bows to my cards but they would always fall off after being handled or mailed. I now pull out my mini glue gun instead and it works like a charm! (You do need to pull off all of the extra little glue strings that go along with using a glue gun though when you are finished!) Now my bows and buttons and chunkier embellishments never fall off!

Would you like to win your own set of ROFL Taglines? All you need to do is visit all of the Trendsetter's blogs and leave each of them a comment (including me!). Then return to the There She Goes blog and enter your name in the Mr Linky. A random winner will be chosen during the release party chat on Saturday night!

Thanks for stopping by now head on over to Holly's blog for some more LOL fun!

Aim for the Clouds

On Monday I promised to show you my cards I colored with my Copic markers over the weekend. Unfortunately, I forgot about some very important business that needs to be taken care of this week. It is There She Goes release week! There are 3 sets being released on Saturday night after the release party chat in the TSG forum. Today, the Trendsetters are featuring the set "Aim for the Clouds". Start at the There She Goes blog to catch all of the Trendsetters creations and follow the blog hop! This is a fun set with lots of possibilities! I made 2 cards to share today.

For this first card, I stamped my hot air balloons on some scraps of DP and cut them out. Then I mounted them on this new cloud and sky DP from Stampin' Up! that fits just perfectly with my theme! I added one of the sentiments with a tiny library clip and some more DP and ribbon to complete my card. I just love how it turned out!

This one is very dimensional with all of the layers being up on pop dots! The polka dotted DP has glitter on it so it's also very sparkly! The circle image fits just right in one of the large circle nestabilities and I used that along with a labels 1 nestabilitie to create my layers! A bit of ribbon in the corners and the sentiment stamped at the bottom and I called it good!

Would you like to win your own set of "Aim for the Clouds"? All you need to do is visit all of the Trendsetters blogs today and leave a comment on this post, then return to the There She Goes blog and add your name to the Mr Linky. A random winner will be announced at the release party chat on the 30th!

Thanks for stopping by! Your next stop is HOLLY!

There She Goes color challenge

It's time for another challenge from There She Goes! Today Jodi has challenged us to use the colors pink, red and aqua. I was at Michael's on Saturday and found this great pack of American Crafts paper called craft fair. It was on the clearance rack for $9.99 but it rang up at $4!! Gotta love a bargain like that! Anyways, when I saw this color combo I knew I could use my new paper. I stamped my Birdie from Birdie Wishes and cut him out with my nestabilities. I stamped a second wing, trimmed it out and popped it up. I wanted to add an interesting border or something underneath the birdie layer and decided to try paper pleating. I was getting frustrated trying to make my pleats all nice and even so I ended up crumpling my paper (to make it a bit more pliable and to hide my folding mistakes!) and making some random folds. Then I used some i {stick} papers tape to adhere it to my DP. I stitched across the top of the pleats to help them lay a bit flatter. My button, ribbon, brad element is made by tying a small knot in my ribbon and then taking a lemonade brad and sticking it throught the holes in the button with the ribbon knot sandwiched in between. I used a large glue dot to adhere it to my card.

We'd love to see what you create with these colors! Upload your project to your blog or an online gallery using the keyword TSG38 and then link it back to the There She Goes blog using the Mr Linky. You could win $5 to the There She Goes online store!

Thanks for stopping by!

A Perfect Pair

Wouldn't this be a fun pattern to have on your washer and dryer? Might make doing the laundry a bit more fun, huh? Kind of reminds me of the days of olive green and rust appliances!

I used Mercy's sketch (Ooo and I was a weiner from last week too!) for this week for my layout and the Loads of Fun stamp set by There She Goes. I also decorated the inside with the sentiment "you two are the perfect pair". A fun little valentine!

It's a beautiful 36 degree day here with lots of sunshine (smile). My husband took the boys ice skating at the park and I'm headed to my LSS to load up on supplies for my girls craft retreat next weekend! Woot, woot! Tomorrow we'll be parked in front of the TV rootin' on our team- GO VIKINGS!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hangin' Out

Today's challenge on the TSG blog is to embellish x3. Yep, just use 3 (or more) different embellishments on your card or project, link it up to the There She Goes blog using keyword TSG37 and Mr Linky and you could win $5 to the TSG store! The challenge is open until the winner is announced on Monday January 18th.

For my card I chose the great set Loads of Fun. How appropriate since Monday is always laundry day here at my house! I used my prismacolor pencils and OMS to color in the clothes. The three different embellishments that I used are glitter on my slip, (makes the neighbors wonder what you've been up to when you have something sparkly hangin' on your clothesline, huh?!) the suede ribbon, and a button. I guess the border punch, the score lines and the nestabilitie could also count as embellishments. See how easy that is? Now let's see what you create!

Thanks for stopping by!
