I'm still laughing at this. The sound is the best part.

Study Hall.

I picked up this gem the other day and it is worth every penny. I see these books pop up on Ebay every once and a while selling for close to 75-100 bucks, so I was pretty stoked when I stumbled upon this one. There are a ton of useful facts that I've read so far and been like "no shit", and I've have only skimmed through it. Not that I'm going to try to assemble 2 right side flywheels, shave them down and balance them myself, but there is a section in this book if you wanted to give it the old college try at building a stroker. There are also illustrations with sloppy naked biker sluts.

Tech Article: How to replace Shovelhead gaskets.

I realize that our blog here might not be the most motorcycle technical oriented, and I know that's what you guys are here to see. All of the other blogs out there get shit done and let you know that they know how to get shit done and photo document every last detail about every single thing. That's why I'm changing my ways and doing this here helpful tutorial on what to do when you have a blown head gasket on a Shovelhead. From now on, it's all serious around here.

First thing that you need to do when preforming the task of head gasket replacement is to make sure that you have the proper tools for the job.

The next step is removing the old gasket from the cylinder. I think the motor company makes a special head gasket puller, but I find that a saw is much more efficient.

You may need to consult your local chop expert if you are unsure about this next step. Place a new gasket on top of the cylinder and make sure it is nice and secure.

Put the head and rocker box back on the big and check for proper fitment. Glue may be needed for this procedure.

After you have completed the task of head gasket replacement, you have received 20 chopper cred points. Sit back, have a beer, and celebrate.
