Wrestle Mania

Russ and I were able to go to a wrestling dual -- #1 Iowa vs #2 Iowa State. It as so great! It is the only date that we have been on alone (besides the graduation festivities) since Garrett was born. Cole's nursery teacher and her family watched the boys and Cole had so much fun that when we went to pick him up he told us to "go away" because he wanted to stay! It was nice to have a little time alone, even if it was watching men roll around on the mat. Seriously, I love wrestling and was thrilled to be there. All of my brothers wrestled and I respect the sport and those that participate. The whole crowd was decked out in black and gold (Go Hawkeyes) and Russ and I were no exception. Russ got his hoodie for graduation from his sister Katie and I got mine on one of those early morning deals the day after Thanksgiving. So, we fit in and looked like real fans. Hawkeye gear is a wardrobe requirement in Iowa City and you can wear anything as long as there is a Hawkeye somewhere on the clothing. There were 15,595 people in attendance - a new record for Iowa.

One of the funniest comments of the night was when the announcer said, "One point red for grabbing the equipment." Russ leaned over to me and said, "Is that what they call it now days?" He was a little confused if the announcer was talking about the athletic equipment (knee pad) or the other type of equipment that is easy to grab as well! Too funny! Hee, Hee!

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly of November

THE GOOD: I love playing and walking in the leaves -- the smell, the sound of them crunching underneath my feet, the autumn colors -- it just isn't fall without it! This year we took advantage of a warm day outside and even got a few cute pictures. Oh, I love the Fall!!

Cole loved being buried in the leaves

Garrett in his beanie -- I just love beanies on babies!

THE BAD: When I say bad, I mean tough, not really "bad". Russ' Uncle Myron came for a visit and we had a fantastic time! He came to lecture at the Ortho school, but we took advantage of every second while he was here. He played with the boys non-stop (Cole crawled all over him any chance he could!), reviewed some cases with Russ, took us grocery shopping (thanks for the diapers, formula and baby food!), and even had time to fit in a morning of pheasant hunting. It was a fun weekend and were were so glad for his visit!

The "bad" boys

THE UGLY: The night Mryon arrived Garrett had an ear infection, so we started him on Amoxicilin. It was a ten day treatment and throughout the next week he continued to be fevered. Finally his fever broke and then next day he was covered in a rash. When I say covered I mean it was on every inch of his little body -- his scalp, his fingers, his bum, and everywhere in between. He had an allergic reaction to the amoxicilin. We stopped the medicine on Saturday and figured the rash would go away and we would wait it out. But, after his morning nap on Sunday morning the rash had gotten worse and he also had hives. I decided we should get it checked out and took Garrett to the Quick-Care, just to be safe (I know I'm a little paranoid, but when it comes to my kids I don't take risks). Our neighbors took Cole to church (Cole was a champ and went by himself, not to mention that he didn't even wet his pull-up the whole three hours of church because there was no one there to take him to the potty!) The only person working at the Quick Care was a nurse practitioner (heaven forbid we actually see a doctor) and she took one look at Garrett and told us it was out of her scope and that we should take him straight to the ER. We arrived at the ER and they looked at us like, "Are you serious?" They gave him a dose of Benadryl and sent us on our way. It was expensive Benadryl -- I could've bought the whole supply at Walgreens and still been money ahead for all we spent of the visits. Oh, well -- better safe than sorry! I felt so bad for Garrett and there was nothing I could do but wait until it went away.

What an exciting few weeks! I hope Thanksgiving isn't quite as eventful as the first few weeks of November. But, The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly are all pretty cute if you ask me!!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I love the orange and black colors, dressing-up and trick-or-treating, pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns, and candy and more candy. I love it!! This year was no exception and we had so much fun the week of Halloween. We water colored pumpkins that I later hid for Cole to collect and put from largest to smallest, made a Dracula box that we put a few treats in, made pumpkin sugar cookies, decorated them and took them to Russ at school, made a seven layer dip that looked like a spider web (for book club) complete with a tootsie roll spider, sang Halloween songs, carved pumpkins, went to the ward's trunk-or-treat (Wednesday night) and trick-or-treating. I think I enjoyed myself more than Cole and Garrett did.

Trick-or-treating was so much fun. We went to an older part of town that had the most beautiful old houses that have been restored and taken care of. Russ' program director, a professor, and classmate live in the area so we were able to visit all of them and show off our little guys. Cole was so darling and polite. He said "thank you" and "Happy Halloween" at almost every house, without having to be prompted by his parents. Garrett was mesmerized by the lights, sounds, and costumes. He just observed everything and didn't make a peep the entire night.

As for the costumes -- it was a drama this year! I was trying to be so frugal, so I waited and waited to find costumes. We found Garrett's cow costume at a second hand store for $5 -- what a deal! Cole was going to be a spider that a girl in our ward was going to loan us. I even had Cole learn a Halloween song called "The Very Scary Spider" to go with the outfit. Well, when I got the outfit it was black crushed velvet with purple satin and black lace on it. Not quite what I pictured my little guy wearing. My cute friend, Traci, saved the day and sent us the fire fighter costume. It arrived the day before the trunk-or-treat. Thanks, Traci! I would hate to have to explain to Cole in years to come why he was draped in a crushed velvet costume!! After all the drama and stress, they sure looked cute!! I think next year I will start a little earlier and be a little more prepared...

Darling kids! Aren't their costumes so cute?!

Pumpkin Fun

This year we decided to continue our tradition of going to the pumpkin patch to get a pumpkin. We headed towards the patch and ended up missing the exit and going twenty miles further than needed. We turned around and went back and the exit we needed was the first one after leaving the city. We spent an extra forty minutes in the car -- a little bonding time I guess. Once we made it to the patch, we found out that the pumpkin patches had been flooded in the huge flood, so there weren't any pumpkins to pick. They did have pumpkins there to buy -- I'm sure they were just shipped in like every where else, but it still was fun to buy them there. So, we got two pumpkins, one for each boy and headed home. It was an ironic pumpkin picking (or not picking) experience.

Grandma Guymon sent the boys a really fun Halloween package and included was some money for pumpkins and some decorations for the pumpkins that reminded me of the pieces of Mr. Potatoe Head. Cole and Garrett loved sticking them in the pumpkin. There were so many fun things to choose from that we couldn't just use one of them -- we put all of them in the pumpkin. It was so much fun! Thanks, Grandma for the fun!

TWO OF A KIND -- or not so much!

I am constantly amazed at how different Cole and Garrett are. When I was pregnant with Garrett my mom warned me that each baby is so different and I didn't believe her (sorry Mom!). I was sure that I had it all figured out from going through it with Cole. Was I ever wrong!! Even though my labor was the same, they broke my water at the same time, I started pushing at the same time, and they were born only a minute apart, that was about all that was the same!! For starters, they look nothing alike - Cole is a mini-Russ and we aren't quite sure who Garrett looks like (but he can't look that much like Russ because he looks nothing like Cole). Both are darling, just different. Cole loved to be held all the time and Garrett is content to play by himself. Cole wanted to be cuddled while he wound down for naps and bed time, while Garrett wants to be put in his bed (he arches his back and fusses until he is put down).

And then there is the size difference... just take a look at the pictures and it will say it all. Even though they were born in the same season (only two weeks difference), I have had to buy Garrett new 6-9 month clothes because Cole seemed to skip that size and move right into 12 month stuff. Cole took forever to roll because he couldn't get his chub to roll over, while Garrett rolls like crazy. Cole outgrew his infant carrier at five months because of his weight. Garrett is eight months old and is still in it. Cole was off the charts for both height and weight and Garrett is in the 60th percentile for height and only the 39th percentile for weight. I took Gar to the doctor this week and I am having to add rice cereal to all of his baby food just to add a few extra calories and I am to feed him until he doesn't want anymore. He isn't really interested in nursing and if I can get him to eat, he is only eating about 3 ounces at each feed (and he won't take a bottle - I've even tried sippy cups without success - and he hates formula and throws it up). Cole on the other hand was a hoover and would eat anything that was put in his path. He used to be so loud when he ate that I wouldn't nurse in public because I was so embarassed. He would take a bottle from anyone, as long as it had milk in it. I looked through Cole's medical records when we moved and the doctor's comments were, "huge, cheerful" (4 months), "enormous, happy" (6 months), and "chunky" (9 months). Garrett on the other hand is a peanut. Even though he is "normal", he seems so small to me. And the fact that he isn't eating stresses me out. I never worried if Cole missed a meal because he had plenty to spare, but I feel like Garrett is going to starve if he misses a meal.

I'm sure that as they both continue to grow I will notice even more differences between the two of them. I think it is part of what makes each stage so much fun. I love their differences and the unique things about each of them. How did I get so lucky?!

Survival Tips...

How does any one survive having a two-year-old? I need some survival tips - or really Cole needs some survival tips so he will see his third birthday. Cole is either the most darling, sweet little guy or an absolute terror. He has started saying to me, "You knock it off", which I know he has heard me saw more than once, but it sounds three times more obnoxious coming out of his mouth. He already has developed selective listening - something I thought males didn't get until after they were married (or get as teenagers according to my mom). There are days that I am certain that there will be no more children born into this family because I don't know how many two-year-olds I can handle. When you keep having kids it assures you that there will always be a two-year-old in the house. I don't think my sanity (or insanity) can handle it!!

Now, I am not saying that I don't adore Cole and love him more than I can express, but I just need advice on how to turn his tantrums, attitude and naughtiness into the darling Cole that I know is in there somewhere. Timeout, spankings (yes, I admit I do it sometimes) and explanations don't seem to be working. I give choices (Love & Logic) and that seems to help at times, but not always. I keep hearing that it is all part of being two, but I've never had a two-year-old before, so I don't know if his behavior of normal or not. I also think part of the problem is that he is so smart (he started sounding out words and can read simple words) - I think he outsmarts me most of the time.

I think the most frustrating thing is that I feel like I am a horrible mom on days when Cole is so difficult. I feel like I have ruined him and wonder if he will turn out in spite of my weaknesses. When I do spank him I feel like a horrible, out of control mother and want to just lock myself in my room. I get flustered so quickly, especially when it is one thing after another and then I am short with him, which only compounds the problem. Why can't I be a calm, collected mom that never seems to have her feathers ruffled?

So, I would welcome any survival tips that you have and any words of encouragement so I know that it will get better (please, tell me it will get better!). Cole will thank you!!

First Haircut

Garrett got his first haircut yesterday. He looks so big now -- it's amazing how a haircut can make a baby look so grown up. He was a champ while we cut it. He sat in his Bumbo, played with a little brush, and didn't make a peep.

We also cut Cole's hair and that was a completely different story. He cried, screamed, refused to sit still -- it was like cutting a snake's hair. We stuck Garrett in the tub to play while we started Cole's hair (we were right next to the tub and watching him) because I knew I would need reinforcement (a.k.a. Russ). Cole is usually so good at haircuts, so I was a little surprised at his protest. Anyway, we looked over at Garrett and saw that he had pooped in the tub. So, Russ did damage control with Garrett and the tub while I tried to wrestle with Cole and cut his hair at the same time.

With poop and hair everywhere, it wasn't how I pictured Garrett's first hair cut in my head! But, both of the boys had hair cuts, so I think it was a success. Just don't look too closely or you will see all of the nicks and mistakes I made (Garret's neck line is way too short -- good thing hair grows!). My brain is very right sided, so to venture to the left side is always challenging...I'm an accountant, not a beautician. I can't wait for the day when I can pay someone to cut their hair!!

Before -- all that darling, soft baby hair

During -- he was content and happy as could be!

After -- my handsome, "grown up" little man!

Wilson Apple Orchard

We went to the Wilson Apple Orchard to pick a few apples. The weather was just perfect - not to hot, but warm. Russ carried Garett in the front pack and he loved it. He was kicking his legs and waving his arms the whole time. Cole liked picking apples, but the tricky part was keeping his feet out of the rotten apples. We picked a few varieties of apples to eat and one variety to make an apple pie -- yes, I made a pie all by myself! I felt really domestic, even thought it wasn't the prettiest pie I've ever seen. Cole and Russ enjoyed it (I didn't have any because I'm not a big fan of cooked fruit), so it was a success! We also bought a half gallon of apple cider as a treat. Cider always reminds me of fall, so it was a great way to welcome the fall season!

Russ hoisted Cole up to get an apple while carrying Garrett - now that it talent!

Can you reach it? S..t..r..e..t..c..h..

Oh, Gag Me!

Most of you know about my gag-reflex that was easily triggered when I was a kid. I often 'lost my cookies' at the dinner table when something I didn't like touched my tender tastebuds. The biggest triggers were cooked carrots, even when my dad tried to camouflage them in my mashed potatoes (I still can't eat those nasty things), and other cooked veggies like celery, onions, etc. I even tried tricking my dad sometimes by shoveling a bunch of the nasty food into my mouth and stating I had to use the bathroom so I could flush them instead of eat them. My siblings were often disgusted and usually ate as quickly as they could so they could leave the table before my gagging started. It made my parents crazy and a little furious... now that I am a parent I have a better understanding, but I couldn't help it at the time.

So, I'm sure to the enjoyment of my siblings, my weak gag reflex has been passed on to my darling Cole and I am getting "paid back" for the torture I gave my parents as a kid. Cole might look just like Russ, but he definitely has a lot of me in him. We didn't notice the gagging until after we had Garrett. I started bathing both boys together and would give Garrett his vitamins in the tub because they are so messy. Garrett didn't like the taste of the vitamins (I can't blame him -- the smell is enough to knock anyone over) and would spit them out. If Cole saw the vitamins coming out of Garretts mouth he would throw up as well. This happened a few times and I finally decided to give up on the vitamins to save myself a lot of cleaning up. Floaties in the tub does not equal clean kids!

Another time at dinner we were encouraging Cole to eat green beans. He used to pound them as a baby in the pureed form - we could get him to eat anything if it was dipped in the baby food, so we didn't think it would be a problem. I bribed Cole with a pudding for dessert if he ate them. So, while he's eating a few bites he is saying, "I like green beans - they are yummy" while I can tell his insides are screaming, "Yuk". He really wanted that pudding. He ate four beans and on the fifth one he couldn't take it any more and up it came back up - all over his plate.

The first time we fed Garrett solids (rice cereal) was a Saturday morning. I made waffles for breakfast for the rest of us and while Cole was finishing up I got the rice cereal ready. Russ had the video camera rolling, I put a scoop of rice cereal in Garrett's mouth and he spit some of it out because he was getting used to the new texture. That was all it took for Cole. Russ exclaimed, "Cole you are fine. Stop it", but it was too late and the fresh waffles made their debut a second time, and it was all caught on tape! Quite an exciting first meal for Garrett.

And just this past Sunday we were having dinner at our neighbor's house - roast, mashed potatoes and cooked carrots. Cole was doing fine, had eaten a few carrots, but after three he lost it, all over his plate. I was a bit embarassed, but could really sympathize with him. I didn't even take any carrots because I knew I would do the same thing.

So, the curse has come full circle and hopefully this is some justice to my family that I tortured at the dinner table growing up. But, in my defense - it really must be genetic and not just in my head!

Father-Son / Mother-Son Weekend

This past Friday was the ward campout and I decided that camping with a six month old didn't sound fun (actually, nursing in the middle of the night in a tent didn't sound like a great time) so I sent Russ and Cole, while Garrett and I stayed home. Garrett had a horrible day of sleeping (I seriously think he has insomnia) so I was a little frazzled by the time I got all of the camping gear together for Russ and Cole. I was thrilled at the idea of having a quiet night to myself after such a crazy day. But, as we started loading the car, I realized this was Cole's first camping experience and I was going to miss it. As they drove off I got a little teary-eyed. The only time I have slept apart from Cole was when Garrett was born.

Russ and Cole had tons of fun. They went fishing (Cole had a stick and pretended to fish in the lake), roasted marshmallows, slept in the tent, and had pancakes for breakfast. It was a "guys" domain. But, when it was time for bed Cole said to Russ, "I want mommy to come in the tent with me. I am done with my pajammies." Yes - Cole missed me! Even though he loves being with his dad, he still needs his mom!!

Cole in his jammies ready to camp

After they left, Garrett and I played a bit and while he was rolling on the floor I noticed that he was sucking on his toes. So, I got the camera because I tought it was so cute. It was cute for a while, but now I think it is quite gross! Once Garrett was in bed (I put him in a pair of Cole's jammies from when he was that age -- sorry, Gar - I'm sure you will need therapy some day, but I was missing your big brother!) I walked into Cole's room and had to tidy it up and think about him. Funny how I couldn't wait for them to go, but once I was alone, all I could think about was Cole and Russ. I had plans to scrapbook, clean or do something productive, but I just ended up falling asleep on the couch at 9:00 PM and getting nothing done. How ironic!

How can he bend like that?

Yummy toes -- or yucky if you ask me!

Garrett turns 6 months!

I can't believe that a half a year has already gone by since Garrett joined our family. He is so much fun! He is babbling, rolling from side to side and occasionally rolling over, eating solid foods (rice cereal and pears are all we've tried), laughing and giggling (especially when Cole plays with him) and loves playing with his toys (he really just sticks them in his mouth, but he sure enjoys it!). We are so happy he is part of our family!

Here are a few pictures I took of Garrett in the back yard. Someday I hope to learn more about photography and how to take really great pictures, but these will have to do for now. Enjoy!!

Summer Water Fun

We have had fun in the water this month and here are a few pictures of the events. Russ' orthodontic department had a BBQ at the lake where his director has a cottage. There was a clown (that Cole was mesmerized with) that did tricks, face painting, and balloon animals. After the clown left Cole and Russ changed into their swimming suits and headed for the lake. Cole jumped off the dock a bunch of times and once he was in the water he kept exclaiming, "I am swimming!" We couldn't get him out of the water - he was in the lake for an hour and a half. When we finally dragged him out his lips were blue and his whole body was a prune. He had so much fun. Garrett and I had fun watching and I was grateful I didn't have to get in the cold water!!

Cole jumping into the lake for the millionth time

Cole and Russ - cute boys!

This was the fist time we turned on the sprinkler in our own yard and it was one of the hottest days of the year. Cole got a kick out of it! Even Garrett and I ran through a few times to keep cool.

Here we are at the local pool. It was Garrett's first "official" time in the pool in his swimming gear and floatie. He loved the water - his legs were kicking like crazy! Cole is a fish and couldn't get enough of the water and loved having his dad there to swim with him. It was a fun day at the pool!

Allergy Free!!

Today we took Cole to an asthma and allergy specialist and found out great news -- Cole doesn't have allergies! They did a test of different allergens and they all were negative. They had to inject the allergens under his skin, so he was pricked eleven times, similar to a little shot. He was crying while they did it, but I was crying too! It was only a few minutes of pain for great news. Yay! The doctor also gave us an asthma inhaler that we can use anywhere, so we don't have to be tied to the nebulizer. The clinic was fantastic -- they were blowing bubbles and entertaining Cole in the exam room and even brought in a tub of Thomas Trains and tracks for him to play with while we waited for the doctor. The doctor sat with me and explained the ins and outs of asthma and sent me home with information to read. It is the first time that I feel I have been informed and educated about Cole's asthma. It was a fantastic experience!!

Cole showing off his "battle wounds" from the injections

I love this picture of Garrett we took last night and thought it was too cute not to post, even thought it has nothing to to with allergies!

State Fair

We went to the state fair this past weekend with our friends, the Gurgels, and had a fantastic time! It was unlike anything I have ever seen - there were over 100,000 people there the day we went. We saw the usual pigs, sheep, cows, chickens, and horses, which Cole was ecstatic to see, but we also saw some crazy things -- a 1229 pound boar (male pig), a 3000 pound bull, a full size cow sculpted out of butter along with a butter sculpture of Shawn Johnson (a US gymnast that is at the Olympics right now), fried snickers and twinkies (doesn't that just sound like a heart attack!?!), foot long corndogs on a stick and whole turkey legs, a dog being spayed (yes, the actual operation was being performed), and a whole range of interesting people (I love to "people watch"). We also watched baby chicks hatching, were able to pet piglets, saw a calf that was only a few hours old and baby ostriches. It was a fun filled day!

Cole wasn't afraid of petting any of the animals -- I think this sheep was about to eat his hand, but he didn't seem to mind. We had to really watch where he was sticking his hands. We found him digging through pig feed in one pen and trying to pet any animal within reach.

Garrett -- what a cutie! He was such a trooper -- he was hot and sweaty and really couldn't care less about the fair, but he was so happy and smiley the whole time. He is such a great baby!!

Here is Cole putting the moves on our neighbor, Anna. Cole has a little crush on her, even though she is almost twice his age. He sometimes sings "Anna's World" to the Elmo's World tune, which I think is darling. She doesn't have the same feelings since Cole is so young, but they at least enjoy playing together.

Learning to milk a cow - or plastic cow - but a fun experience!

Here are all of the kids all tuckered out -- Kennedy, Anna, Garrett, Cole after a long, hot day at the fair.

Cole-ism

Cole does and says some pretty amazing things and I just had to share one of them. A few weeks ago I took Garrett for his check-up at the university hospital and Cole came along. Because it is the university, we had to see the nurse, a resident, the doctor and resident, and the nurse again for vaccinations. We were there for over 2 1/2 hours. Cole was as good as a two year old can be in a small room, but explored and pushed every button he could find, spilled raisins, opened and closed the door, played with medical equipment within his reach, etc. But amid those moments that I wanted to tie him to the chair so he would sit still, he did two amazing things.

First, when the doctor came in (after we had already seen the resident), Cole exclaimed, "Adam was a prophet... and Noah too!" The doctor just chuckled and talked to Cole about Noah and the Ark. He said, "You must be learning things at home." Cole's favorite Primary song right now is 'Follow The Prophet' and that is why he was repeating the prophets to the doctor. He asks to sing it several times a day. Too funny!

Second, while we were waiting for the doctor, Cole stood on the chair and put his hands on my head and said, "I am going to give you a blessing." The previous night Cole woke with night terrors and was just beside himself. I have never seen him like that, so Russ gave him a blessing (that immediately stopped his screaming and he was able to sleep -- the priesthood is amazing!!). He must have recognized the power of the priesthood enough to try to mimic it the next day.

Cole is one sharp little guy and doesn't miss anything! I am amazed at how quickly he learns. Tonight for family home evening we learned about Abraham and Isaac and he remembers all of the characters, including Sarah. Before he went to bed he even told me about how they built rocks (an alter) and didn't have to hurt Isaac. He can tell you the names of the First Presidency and will search through the Ensign until he finds them. There is definitely something special about Cole and I am so lucky to be his mom. I always tell him that, "I love you a million, trillion, bazillion, gillion." I know it doesn't really make sense and may be a little cheezy, but hopefully Cole will know how much I love him and am constantly amazed by him. I love you, Coley!!

Nauvoo Pageant and More...

This past weekend we were able to go to the Nauvoo Pageant and we had a great time! We arrived a few hours before the pageant started and there were games, puppet shows, crafts, activities, music and dancing. We couldn't get Cole to leave the dance floor. They taught a few dances from the era so we joined in on the fun. The pageant was spectacular and a great tribute to Joseph Smith and the Saints that lived at that time. The story line, music, special effects and choreograph were incredible. I'm so glad that we were fortunate enough to attend.

On the way to the pageant we stopped at Wendy's for a quick bite to eat and were surrounded by cute older couples. I'm not sure if it was Senior Citizen night or what, but I've never seen of many "seniors" in a Wendy's restaurant at one time! I think there were only two other families our age. They were darling with our boys and we were stopped several times so they could ooh and aah at them. Cole became particularly fond of one group and was talking, laughing, reciting nursery rhymes and waving at them. They were sweet with our boys -- it was fun to be the youngest in the crowd! Our cute family at sunset before the pageant started. Cole shaking his bootie on the dance floor - he couldn't get enough of the bagpipe band!

Last Sunday after we got Garrett dressed for church I couldn't help but snap a few pictures of him. He is so dang cute! We combed his hair and used a little gel to keep it in place and his smile was so darling. At church Russ took him during Priesthood/RS because I had to conduct. The lesson had just started when I got a tap and someone telling me, "You have a blow out". I looked out the door and there was Russ beckoning to me that he needed a little help. I was a little confused because Garrett only "goes" about once a week and it wasn't his "time" to go. But, go he went and it was everywhere... down his leg, out the back, on Russ' shirt, tie and pants. It was quite a sight! After we got Garrett hosed off in the bathroom, Russ took him home for a new pair of clothes. Garrett left the church sporting only a diaper and wrapped in a blanket. Russ thought it would be funny to take an "after" picture because the "before" picture was so cute.
"BEFORE" "AFTER"

Cole, Garrett and I made sugar cookies for our family home evening treat and Cole got his first beater to munch on. I haven't let him have one before because of the raw eggs in the batter, but he was eating so much cookie dough with his fingers (I seriously couldn't keep his fingers out of it) that I figured the beater would slow him down. He loved it, just like I used to love it when I was a kid. So, I guess a little raw egg never hurt anyone... or has it?! Cole also kept telling me, "This beaver is yummy!" We had to have a little discussion because I didn't want him confusing the animal (beaver) with the yummy treat (beater). Oh, how the simple things in life make a two year old so happy!
