As a newbie trying to learn to play a guitar, no matter how I turn my left hand it muffles some of the strings. Is there such a thing as having fingers that are just to short to play a guitar? I don't know, they seem to look normal but they sure don't sound normal.
Andres Segovia, one of the greatest classical guitarists of all time, had short, fat, pudgy fingers - so there is hope for you yet. I've been playing for 40 years and I'm still learning!
