October

I had a chance to shop in a physical store in October. While visiting a friend in San Antonio we went to Comfort, TX to visit The Tinsmith's Wife.

Knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, and  punch needle are some of the craft supplies carried at the store. There are also lots of models for inspiration and an area for classes. If you are in the area it's well worth the visit.

Along with my Mill Hill cats and beaded Jack from last post I managed two more finishes. I finished Autumn Row by Bent Creek and Pumpkin Row by October House Fiber Arts. I'm not sure how I will finish Autumn Row; must likely some type of framing. Pumpkin Row will be finished as a skinny mini pillow.

Would like to finish this one this month.

BOO!

 BOO!

It’s the Eve of Halloween.

Not much Halloween stitching got done in 2024.

My 2 Mill Hill cats and a beaded Jack were the only things that were completed.

Something of my previous finishes.
I’m still working on Another Year Creeps By. I’ve a small start on Halloween Square Dance 2, Heart  in Hand. I need to stitch Halloween all year long to make a dent in the to-be-stitched pile.

June into July

I had the top portion ready to post  post on the 30th of June. I'm not sure how or why but after making some edits the post wouldn't publish so I've copied and pasted it here.

Today is day 181 of 2021. Half the year is officially over at midnight. I managed to meet my WIPGO goals for the month. I worked on Halloween at Hollyberry Farm, and Starry Night. My SAL stitching was on Just add Tinsel, Casing a Spell, 21 Halloween Cross Stitch projects in 2021, and Christmas Ornie SAL. I had one start, Hello Summer, It's Sew Emma  from Fat Quarter Shop's Stitch Quarterly. I have one popsicle stitched and started on the second of 6.

I'm really excited that Starry Night is stitched. Now I have to make a final decision on how I will finish them.

February 2021: Week 4

February is over and this is what I was able to accomplish.

My smalls were.

Candy Corn, a Mill Hill kit, finished as an ornament instead of the suggested magnet.

My Second, ornament from Starry Night
I also stitched 2 Easter egg ornaments.

This is not the best pic. I wanted these flowers to look like snowdrops. I may have to outline them so that they will show up better.

My three heritage projects for the month were, Lady Justice, Woman Silhouette, and Portrait in Red. Most of my stitching time turned out to be on Portrait in Red. I had a couple of visits from the frog, so I'm not done with the face yet. Hopefully, I'll be able to complete the face soon and move on to the shoulder area.

I got some more done to the dress and the ribbon around her waist.
Started down the bodice of Woman Silhouette
Face almost complete.

Last and First

 Happy New Year!

My last finish of 2020 was Moonlit Garden

I decided to leave off the words on the bottom.

This year I've continuing with the Christmas Ornie SAL, and Smalls SAL. I have 4 more Days from the Hands on Design 12 Days that I need to stitch. These with go towards the Christmas Ornie SAL and the FB 12 Days of Christmas Stitching Group that I joined. I just need to decide on another set of 12 Day designs. I'm also took on the challenge to stitch 21 Halloween Cross Stitch Projects in 2021, and trying to use Jessie Marie's WIPGO to focus my WIPs. I will be trying to boost my fully finish projects and post to Fully Finished Gallery monthly.

My New Year's start and finish was Boo Ghost. I'll be finishing this as an ornament instead of a pin as it was intended. Also, I didn't add the star to the ghost's hand. I would like to find some Halloweenish charm, pumpkin, skeleton etc., instead.

Mill Hill Kit
My second finish is Queen Bee.
Queen Bee
The Blackberry Rabbit
I started this in December and finished the stitching today. I will be using this for a birth sampler for a co-worker. I'm in the progress of charting the details that I'll be adding at the bottom, also need to look for a frame. Hope to catch a frame sale at Hobby Lobby or Michaels.

Wishing you a Happy and Healthy New Year with lots of stitching.

Stitch-tober Week 2

I touched a few of my projects last week but it's hard to tell. I ran out of  threads while working on Moonlit Garden so no finish there. I was able to order 2 of the three threads that I need to continue work on this piece. For the third thread I scavenged a couple of other projects and I think I may have enough leftovers of the third color to complete Moonlit Garden. Keeping a good thought.

Block 2 of 2020 Halloween Mix nd Match is done.

Next up will be a black cat in the top right box.
Beaded and ready to be finished.

Finished, shaped and hanging on the tree.
This was a simple finish. Black felt was glued to the back with black ribbon added for hanging. I used a white craft glue that dries clear.

I worked a little on Nevermore, by Lila's Studio and Fat Quarter Shop's,  Fright Night but didn't get very far. I hope I'll have enough progress to warrant a picture next post.

Thanks for stopping by

Stitch-tober 2020: Week 1.5

I spent last week working on FQS 2020 Halloween Mix and Match and their Fright Night Stitch-tober SAL. I also finished the stitching Mill Hill's Glowing Pumpkin, from the Painted Pumpkin series

The border is available as a free download from Fat Quarter Shop and the images to Mix and Match are from Lori Holts' Stitch cards.
The first block is done. I opted for hot chocolate with whipped cream and chocolate bits. I'm not a pumpkin spice girl. Next will be the Jack o Lantern.
Fright Night is being stitched on Hazey Gray, by Fabric Flair, with WDW over dyes. Week One included the word 'Halloween" and a spider hanging in its web from the letters E-N. Week 2 is a bat and moon to the right. I have the bat started and I'm thinkig about using DMC or Krinek glow in the dark for the moon.

Today I started the beading on Glowing Pumpkin. Hope to finish it up this week. Next up is this Autumn Harvest kit, Moonlit Owl. My colors are sorted and ready to go. This little design takes 12 floss colors, 5 bead colors and a MH treasure, to bring it to life.
In between Mix and Match, Fright Night and Moonlit Owl, I plan to continue working on Blackbird Design's Moonlit Garden, and Lila Studio's Nevermore. I would really like a finish on Moonlit Garden this month.

Stitching for Falll

My friend Jenny has started a new blog for fans and stitchers of Brightneedle designs. Stop by and visit or join if you have the time. This weekend I stitched up the first Brightneedle chart I have done in awhile. I was able to get the stitching done and hope to get to the finishing soon. I know that I have stitched Pretty in Pink at least once for an exchange, may have to stitch another for myself.

Pumpkin Flowers:

I did the finishing on my exchange piece, just need to attach some cord/trim to the the edge and it's ready to be mailed. And just in time too.

Last but not least, I had 2  small starts, one a Mill Hill ornament that I am stitching for a friend and the other a silk gauze piece. I finished my first silk gauze piece this year and just took the time this weekend to set up my next piece. I had to be very careful that I didn't cut my silk gauze while setting it up. Now I can just concentrate on the stitching. This piece, The Pumpkin Sampler by Threads Through Time has a black background. Hope I will be able to see well enough to do the background when I get to it. It may well have to be a daytime project when I get there.

My thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by the storm this past weekend. I am grateful for my friends, family, everyone that made it through with only a few minor inconveniences.
