Two Challenge Weekend update

Last weekend was WIPGO weekend. This weekend is the 24 Hours of Cross Stitch Marathon. WIPGO weekend is the second weekend of each month; 24 Hours of Cross Stitch Marathon occurs 4 times each year.

While I was able to stitch on my focus WIPs  both weekends, I didn’t come close to the 24 hours of the marathon this month.  I completed the stitching on 3 French Hens on WIPGO weekend. This weekend I  was able to complete Dancer and 9 Ladies Dancing. I will add the beads to the ornaments when i complete a few more.

Dancer is my first finish for my Year of WIPS challenge. It was also on my WIPGO board, as was both of the ornaments.

Twenty four Hours of Stitching

The first 24 Hours of Cross Stitch Marathon of 2023 snuck up on me. I thought I had my calendar all set up but I missed 24HOC. I chanced upon a post and scrambled to get my projects together. I spent the weekend working on The Game, Nevermore, Hare's Spring, and As Life Wears Away

The Game, Artecy is my 25/7 project. My goal is to work 25 stitches or 25 minutes seven days per week. I've finally got started on Friday. I have a new plan for working this project and spent a lot of time working on the parked threads and setting up my new plan.

Nevermore is coming along nicely. I'm almost through with the raven.

Hare's Spring is my Year of the Rabbit Challenge project, sponsored by Halloween Cross Stitch Challenge. I know, not Halloween but Ana knows we stitch other things as well.

Hare's Spring
Plum Street Samplers
As Life Wears Away, what can I say. The top portion is my current goal. It has more stitching than I realized, but  I hope to get it done my my next stitching session on this project.

As Life Wears Away
Carriage House Samplings
The next marathon is April 21-23 I hope I can get at least get this much done again.

My First 24HOC

I'm not one to count stitches or track the time spent on project. However I am always looking for ways to increase completed projects. This past weekend, I took part in the FB group 24 Hours of Stitching Challenge. I knew I couldn't make the 24 hours of the challenge but wanted to see if I could make 12 hours. On Friday after work I hastily pulled my projects out, and started to gather the needed supplies.

The focus piece I decided on was Lady Justice, Mirabilia. It was a piece I wanted to make some progress on and it was part of my WIPGo called number of January. I managed to complete most to the bodice and started on the ribbon sash at her waist.

I also kept handy a smaller project. My Starry Night was close to finish. So that became project number two.

I'm really please with what I was able to accomplish, and will try to take part in a future marathon.
