Random Stuff...

So yesterday was a very productive day..uh..for my husband. He didn't go up to work for his dad yesterday, which I was VERY great full for, because we had LOTS of stuff that needed to be done...six months ago. First off the oil in our 4-runner has needed to to be changed since ...oh...4000 miles ago. That's right people not 400, 4000! Our truck has nearly 180,000 miles on it. It finally took me saying "hey, the truck is making this weird noise when I drive it." Oh my gosh really. I'm sure you are all wondering 'why didn't you just go get the oil changed yourself' well let me remind you I work full time. I don't really want to go spend another hour at the oil place and come home just in time to get kk in her PJ's and into bed.

The other thing that got done yesterday...New brakes. Oh not just new brakes but also newly turned roaters. Yippee! About 8 months ago the 4-runner was doing this funny little hopping motion as I would go to stop. I mentioned this to Michael and promptly...nope not did anything about it...told me he'd get it taken care of. Well then the final semester of school "snuck" up on him and it never got done. So I had been driving the truck for a few days and noticed, beyond the "weird" noise, it also had a new grinding as you came bouncing to a stop. Now I don't know much about cars but I do know that sound means you need new brake pads. Well like most people of the male species, Michael didn't listen to me much about it...I mean it was a car, a "man toy". (Does he not remember I once blew up an engine. I've learned a few things since then.) Well the next day he drove the car. He came home that night parked the car and said "we shouldn't drive that until I get the brakes changed, and the oil." .......ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!! Seriously I had been saying this for 8 months! Oh well he did eventually get it done...before our engine blew and brakes went out.

The other thing he got started on yesterday was the grill. Yes our grill. I won it from work last summer in a contest (considering my mom does the contests I may have picked it out.) and it has been sitting in the garage for a year. Well it's no big deal because we didn't think we would still be at mom's house now. But what do you do. Well with summer here I want it out because I do most of the cooking and during the summer I mostly use the grill. So last night Michael got it out. Now this also is a feat because I have been asking for him to get it out for about a month. I would do it myself but I'm not so confident in putting together something that involves propane. So he got it going. Well today it might still be in about 100 pieces on the garage floor. At least its out. Since it's on the garage floor it is going to bug Michael that he can't pull the car in so I'm sure it will be done tonight.

I didn't do too much yesterday, although I did go get a new swim suit...which then made me go to the gym...it does not look this cute on me.

Well I better get back to work...love y'all peace.

YAY! Don't you feel great when you finally accomplish all you had on your lists of things to do? I need a new suit, but alas...my body is not what it used to be... :(

Good for you! I, too love it when Harvey saves me money by doing repairs on the cars! I'm always amazed when he say he can't fix something...what, come on, sure you can!

I have about 5 swim suits, so no new ones this year. Is that the actual one you bought? It's cute!

Cars... don't get me started.

Grill... I'm jealous.

Suit... I don't think it looks good on the Model! But that's just me.

All through high school we were drilled on always checking the oil in whatever vehicle we were driving, but I've been a total slacker about it since I got married. I freak out when the mileage is over the recommended limit because I'm afraid the engine is going to burn up and my step dad will never let me hear the end of it....not to mention, we're poor and need our cars! I'm glad you got it taken care of. And we have matching grills (kind of)...cute!
